The AFC East WR aren’t very good. We agree there. I’d say that Anderson, Enunwa and Crowder is better than the Bills. The Pats still have Edelman and are adding Demaryius and Harry. They have to be ahead of the Bills. The Dolphins are an absolute dumpster fire and I’d have the Bills above them. I think that the Raiders, 49ers and Redskins are pretty weak as well.

I’m not trying to be “that guy” but it’s hard to argue average. Average would imply middle of the league ish. They are not there. They are improved from last year but it is absolutely one of the worst receiving groups in the league. They are somewhere in the low 20’s at best. With that being said, the addition of a number 1 next year and everyone getting bumped down could make them a pretty good group.

It’s an underwhelming group for sure but better than last year. Brown and Beasley are capable NFL receivers and Foster appears to be one as well. If the Bills had someone at the top of that depth chart it would be a pretty good group. They have some skills that balance each other out and some speed. I’m hoping for Sills to make the team. I could see him stealing snaps from Zay if he develops. I don’t hate Duke as an option either. Roberts, to me, is a special teams guy. I’d rather keep an extra WR than DiMarco.

I like Singletary but would have been okay with others. He’s going to end up being a good player.

Peat is almost certainly gone and may be a candidate to be traded now. He may be the 6th OL now. They drafted a potential replacement for Bell in Gardner-Johnson and Apple can go either way. They will be keeping Brees and Thomas.

I’d be SHOCKED. I don’t see it. They will make a lot of other decisions before Thomas.

FWIW, he’s being mocked to the Bills already.

This is where I’m at. They have so much cap space next year and Hughes in a contract season. I’m picking up Shaq’s option because it raises the floor at the position. He’s already solid and is an ascending player.

...and he will play 16 games with an NFL OL. The Bills OL vs. any NFL DL is much more evenly matched than the FAU OL vs. OU DL. The guy scored 66 TDs in 38 games!! The guy can get to the next level.

His change of pace is really strong and he finishes. I really liked the pick and think he may be the number 1 in 2020.

For me it’s Tyrod. He was the best player of the 3. This team has a solid defense and should have a good OL. He doesn’t make mistakes and won’t lose you games. That’s what I want in a backup QB. Fitz will won you games and lose you games. I don’t need my backup QB trying to be a hero. Barkley is a lesser player than both of the others but I’m fine with him as the 2.

It is meaningless. I wouldn’t like some other team using Shout and just putting their name in. “The Titans make me wanna shout...” It is lame. You have an entire marketing department and all you’ve done is take a clip from a Hinkie press conference and plaster it all over your building.

Well, it started with Sam Hinkie and became a battle cry for the 76ers. They even nicknamed their star “the Process.” Now, every team just decided that they would use it and pretend it’s theirs. It is incredibly lame (as is playoff caliber). We need to do better

They are TOTALLY different though. It’s like saying, “we have Benjamin why would we want Beasley?” The reality, is that the position is played a lot of different ways. Oliver plays a different game than Star. They aren’t apple and oranges. They are apples and vacuum cleaners.

He definitely has some TBD hero qualities. The one difference is that he’s caught 33 TDs over the last 2 years (24 games). These are the 1st 2 years of his life that he has ever played WR!! He actually has a chance.

The big difference is that Sills has been an ultra-productive player. He’s caught a zillion TDs. Sometimes we fall in love with guys because we want them to become good (like those that believed in Peterman). This guy IS actually good.

I wouldn’t say that you are taking crazy pills but you are over analyzing it. You are equating impact to snap count. Kyle Williams and Jerry Hughes both played about 65% of the snaps last year. Whether it was Allen, Bosa or Oliver the Bills were looking to rush the passer. Oliver has the clearest path to the field of any of those guys because no one on the roster can rush from the inside. I’ve advocated playing Shaq at the 3 technique on certain plays over the last couple of years. This was a massive need. I’m thinking that Oliver will be somewhere between the 65% of snaps that those guys played and the 80% that a guy like Fletcher Cox played. I’m thinking he’s around 70% and they will be impactful.

Yeah, I’m really happy with Beane. I love the way that he navigated this offseason. The whole “process” thing is just stupid. You can’t steal someone else’s motto and just pretend it’s yours.

Sorry Virgil but you lost me at the bolded part. With the possible exception of Quinnen Williams I’m not sure that there was a player in this draft that could make more of an immediate impact than Oliver. He’s that special and has the EXACT skill set that this team is missing. That inside pressure is the new thing in this league and he is elite at it. He’s going to be a superstar. Go back and watch the clips from early in his career (before he was misused and protecting his draft status). He was absolutely dominant.

Did anyone else just watch that? I don’t know if there is a link out there for it but think that it is absolutely worth watching. I was somewhat familiar with his story but not to the level of depth that it provided. He’s a guy that we should all be excited for and he really has a chance to make the team. It’s a fascinating story.

If the concern is the number of snaps Oliver is going to get I wouldn’t worry about it. He will be out there a lot and used to his strengths. Oliver is going to be a superstar because of that athleticism whether he’s plays 50% of the snaps, 60% or 100%. His impact won’t just be felt by his numbers either. You’ll see an uptick in production from the edge guys and in turnovers because he will be living in the backfield.

I was really hoping that this thread was going to be “can we stop saying trust the process?” We literally just stole it from the 76ers. It’s lame and played out. We need to be a little more creative and come up with our own motto for what’s happening at OBD.
