When you say “most” of your stuff that surely wouldn’t include your bank account right?

I’m probably in the minority but I’d lean towards Beane. The depth and talent that they’ve added over the last few years is insane. Outside of KB there haven’t been a lot of bad misses (although time will tell with Ford). This is a big offseason for the Bills but one more good one and this team will be loaded. I like McDermott a lot too. He’s built a phenomenal culture. His team’s play hard and are prepared. They RARELY just flat out beat themselves. With that being said, his clock management and challenge uses leave A LOT to be desired. At this point he’s much further head during the week than on Gameday. The good news is that it sounds like they are adding a title to a coach to focus on that. The sign of a good leader is recognizing issues and getting them fixed. I have confidence in both moving forward. My point was (and always will be) stop lumping 2 totally different jobs into 1 person. Evaluate them each on their own merits and responsibilities. That’s why I used the Josh and Hughes example. We’d never say was your opinion of “them?” They don’t do the same thing.

I like the job that both are doing. There are certain things with each that I wish was a little better. I didn’t grade them because I would have them in 2 different brackets (both good though).

I guess I should have just checked to see who was tagged lol. That should tell you where his relationships stand on this team though. He has some VERY close friends.

I just don’t think that makes any sense. What if you like the roster but not the in game decisions? What if you like the preparedness of the team but think that the roster has major holes? We don’t say, “what’s your opinion of Hallen (Josh Allen and Jerry Hughes)?” Why, because they do different things!! There’s no reason to lump 2 people with very different roles together. Maybe my annoyance from this comes from my time in sports but these are very different roles.

Why do we have to lump them together? Beane is in charge of the roster. McDermott is in charge of coaching. They have different jobs. They are different people. They should receive different grades.

He’s very close with Hyde and Poyer (like in wedding, travel together type of close). I’d absolutely think that the Bills will be in contention with that being out there.

Everyone says that when asked about a specific team!! That’s the point I’m making. These guys are auditioning for a job. They are going to have good things to say about all 32 potential teams.

Baun is one of my draft crushes. He’s an OLB that had 19.5 TFL & 12.5 sacks last year. He ran a 4.65 at the combine. He came to Wisconsin as a QB. He’s raw but has massive upside IMO. He’s an explosive athlete.

Why do we think that he wants to come here? That feels like a bit of a reach. I mean the Bills are probably near the top of his range so he’d make more in theory I guess?

I meant it in that he’s a run stuffer that can’t cover. I think that’s a tough spot in McDermott’s defense personally. I’d think that they would want someone rangier.

Long and Foster raise the floor on this team. Wallace potentially raises the ceiling as well. He was playing good football last year when he got hurt.

Personally I don’t care where the talent comes from. The Chiefs signed The Honey Badger and traded a 1st & 2nd for Frank Clark. They were a good team on the verge and bought a couple of stars. They won the Super Bowl. The Bills are a team on the verge now but lack some stars. Whether it be FA, draft or trade they need to add the stars.

The whole “in my sweats” piece is 1,000% me. Ha ha, if I come home and put on sweats I’m not leaving. I don’t care what the offer is.

He was unbelievable. This episode was right up there with any that they’ve ever done.

Are we getting to the point where we stop liking our elite players because they are about to be paid like elite players? Why do we do that? No other fan bases do that (at least that I know of). Tre White is one of the best couple of CBs in the league. At some point he’s going to be given the richest contract a CB has ever received. That’s a day that we should be celebrating not a day that we should dread.

If I had to guess McDermott had absolutely nothing to do with it. In fact, I’m fairly certain he didn’t even know it existed. That decision is made either in marketing or PR. Boyko would have been involved in the decision.

Star’s contract prevents this from being a viable option IMO. I like Reader quite a bit but don’t think it’s realistic.
