Willis McGahee retiring as a Raven
Kirby Jackson replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ha ha ha, this is what I was looking for. How many years do you have to be out of the league?!? You’ve been retired Willis -
The Bills have a deep team this year. I see no value in keeping DiMarco over an extra OL or WR or DB. It may come down to Ray-Ray or DiMarco or Siran Neal or Teller. I would just rather have someone that may contribute more than what DiMarco gives. The running game has gotten worse each year since he’s been here and he can’t catch. Lee Smith is a superior blocker and can fill a lot of what DiMarco does. He’s an absolute waste of a roster spot imo.

Bills Prop Bets for 2019
Kirby Jackson replied to RoyBatty is alive's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
11 rookies to start in 2018: - Allen - Edmunds - Harrison Phillips - Wallace - Foster - Taron Johnson - Ryan Lewis - Wyatt Teller - Keith Ford - Jason Croom - Bojorquez - Corey Thompson I’m at 12 but think that Siran Neal and/or Ray-Ray may have started a game or 2. I guess some on my list may be wrong? I think Croom was considered a rookie because he was PS before (at least I think). Not sure about Bojorquez either. He was in NE or something on a PS. -

Can you understand Coach O? (no cheating)
Kirby Jackson replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Ha ha, it kind of is. I can do a pretty good impression but I lose it after a few sentences. I can’t sustain it. It’s kind of like Spanish. I’m much better at understanding what they are saying than I am saying it. You did great!! -

This is really close!! The answer: “Now I’m glad y’all didn’t have that raffle in South Lafourche. We would have never got past number 1.” -
I’m going to be there

This is on ESPN and felt like it would be fun. You can pick any 10 players to win over the next 3 years. Everyone else is a replacement level player and you don’t need to worry about a cap. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27147758/the-nfl-pick-10-build-team-10-players-here-55-experts-picked I’ll go: Mahomes Nuke Saquon Quentin Nelson Bakhtiari Donald Mack Leonard Tre White Jamal Adams who ya got?

Can you understand Coach O? (no cheating)

When I first moved to Louisiana in 2007 I would have been positive that those weren’t real words. I listened once and knew exactly what he said. -
PM me and I’ll send you a Taco Bell gift card

I thought that this would be fun (and no calling your friends from Louisiana). Please listen to the below and then type your response as to what you think he is saying. I will post later today or tomorrow what he is ACTUALLY saying.

NFL.com ranks Top 25 QB's of All Time: Jim Kelly #21
Kirby Jackson replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thought this was an interesting follow-up to our conversation: https://sports.yahoo.com/sean-mc-vay-knows-he-screwed-up-the-super-bowl-and-his-rams-are-stronger-for-it-162141725.html -
John and I always have a fun back-and-forth. He’s one of my favorite posters here and a fellow Canisius guy. There are no hard feelings on this end. I lost $50 to someone on here when NP started week 1 on here last year. It hasn’t left a bad taste in my mouth. The guy couldn’t make it through halftime!! Look, I really don’t care what happens to Peterman but I take great exception to those that cheer for him to get another chance. It drives me nuts because no one ever had such strong feelings about other scrubs. There wasn’t a candlelight vigil for Levi Brown when he inevitably faded out. (GOT Spoiler) I guess that I like to look at myself as Khaleesi in the final episode. It isn’t enough to overthrow Peterman and his supporters. There is a need to destroy everyone that believe he was an option and burn Peterman’s Landing to the ground.

Everything I’ve said on the topic has been accurate. The story has been written. I don’t know why you are so determined to let this thing continue to play out? I don’t care what “the coaches see” they are wrong. While I feel a bit vindicated that time has proven me right I don’t take joy in the worst QB ever taking opening day reps for my favorite team. I’m beyond thrilled that the Bills gave up on that scrub even if it was well after they should have. They embarrassed him and us, as fans of the team. Again, if you want me to drop the subject all that you have to do is admit that I’m right about Peterman and have been the entire time.

Do you like joint practices in TC?
Kirby Jackson replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is sort of how I feel. It just is chippier. In the offseason the main concern is getting to the season healthy. Those practices scare me because the other team doesn’t necessarily have the health of the guy across from them as a top priority. They are trying to compete. When it is your team you are always careful about how hard you hit someone or you might pull up. It’s just a slightly different mentality. -
If you say that I was right about Peterman and have been right the entire time I’ll drop it.
-
Not coming from you but that has been a popular sentiment around here. “I hope Nate gets one more shot to prove ‘em all wrong.” I really don’t care (at all) what happens with the guy as long as he isn’t in a Bills uniform. I guess that if I had one wish, it would be that he signed with New England :). If he makes the team, fine. If he gets cut, fine. It really doesn’t matter. He stinks either way.
-
Ej has every right to compete too. You and I have a right to compete too. Someone has to give us an opportunity though. If he makes the team, great, I’m glad that he will be in the AFC. I just don’t want to hear “poor Nate” when he inevitably fails. I hope to one day work in a place where I can get paid $500K a year to be worse at my job than anyone that has ever done it.

Gruden will be wrong and that’s fine. We have nothing to lose when the guy fails. When McDermott thought playing him was a good idea, I had an issue. It turns out, despite his qualifications, many of us were right and he was wrong. Maybe “Billsy” isn’t the perfect term for what I was getting at but we all know that insecure Buffalo mentality. We don’t see it quite as much since the Pegula’s took over but we still see it. This underlying fear that “we aren’t good enough to have what everyone else has so we cling to the next tier to justify our place.” We love a guy like Fred Jackson (and he’s one of my favorites) but let’s not kid ourselves, he’s not Zeke. We love the hard-working overachievers. We put Phil Hansen on the Wall of Fame but not Cornelius Bennett. That’s just craziness to me. The ONLY thing that I care about is “who helps the Bills the most?” It doesn’t bother me. It bothers me that people keep a soft spot for him. He’s collecting an NFL paycheck while doing the job worse than anyone ever. If he keeps getting paid good for him. It makes no difference to me. It’s the pity that he gets that rubs me the wrong way. He has made $1,046,169 to play like he has. He will make another $645,000 if he makes the team this year. There is no reason to feel sorry for him. If I could make $500,000 a year, to be worse at my job than any else ever, sign me up.

I don’t care if he’s on someone else’s roster. I just know that he stinks and damaged my favorite team. Fortunately, they walked away (well after they should have). I don’t care what happens to him but I do think that it’s BS that he keeps getting chances that more deserving players don’t. It bothers me that people still defend him. I don’t remember anyone that wanted Brohm, Hamdan, Brown or every other scrub QB to get another chance so badly. It’s such a “Billsy” mentality in a lot of ways. We always love the lovable underdog and resent the blue chippers. It is the oddest insecurity complex and Peterman, in many ways, was the poster boy for it. There were people that LEGITIMATELY wanted that guy to start. Give me stars and wins. It doesn’t matter if a guy was an undrafted FA out of NW Central Idaho State that bagged groceries or if he was the top recruit in the country that started at Alabama. I don’t gravitate towards one vs. the other because one feels more “Buffalo.” Maybe it is just me but the whole “lunch pail” mentality doesn’t matter. The ONLY thing that matters to me in player evaluation is “does this guy improve the Bills chances of winning?” In the case of Nathan Peterman, that answer was unequivocally no.

They disagreed with my judgement. However, the facts support me and not them. 198 NFL people picked someone other than Tom Brady in 2000. Just because they work in the NFL doesn’t make them right. Every time Peterman has stepped out on the field my stance (and that of many others here) has been proven more true than before. I thought starting him the 1st time was a huge mistake. McDermott didn’t think that. I was right. He was wrong. I don't care what coaches think the guy can play. He can’t. His play has proven that.
