  1. They might be. I don’t want to overreact to preseason but they are getting dominated.
  2. Carr, then Glennon, they are moving the football. They are about to score again. They’ll have 24 points on the board in 18 minutes
  3. Nice drive from the Raiders
  4. It’s absolutely reasonable and there is evidence to support it. You can’t say a guy is worse that didn’t play because we don’t know!! You can only compare QBs to other QBs. We don’t know if Gibran Hamdan is a worse QB than Nate Peterman because he didn’t get a chance. Kurt Warner went from grocery bagger to HOFer. I guess he was worse because he wasn’t in the league? You can’t compare him to guys that didn’t play!! When you stack up NP against guys with similar experience, he ranks last in QB rating and last in INT %. He ranks 356 of 356 (ie worst). Keep in mind, he is doing this in an era where every single passing record is being SHATTERED. The rules favor the passing game more than any time in the game’s history. So while he has every possible advantage he has still performed worse than those that had more challenges.
  5. Not proving your point at all. Last year Ducasse and Bodine started. This year they are 3rd string or off the roster. Teller got bumped down a spot. Foster and Zay got bumped down the depth chart, etc... This isn’t that complicated AT ALL. The depth on the roster is really strong. The top of the depth chart is where they need to improve. And guess what? When that happens the depth improves even more!! Come on man, do better
  6. This one is tricky to me. I think that the obvious answer would be “yes.” I’m not so sure though. If that is what the defense is “giving him” than he should take it. Josh is an ELITE runner, not a good one. If he has a lane and can get to the markers (especially on 3rd down) I’d rather he run than try to squeeze one in. He’s more likely to move the chains that way. This may sound like a BS answer but I want Josh to make the right decision. In theory, that could result in running more (I doubt that it will but it could). My guess is that he runs less because he sees the field faster and that’s fine too. Just make good decisions
  7. Well of course it’s an opinion. There are numbers that make a strong case for it. It’s a TOTALLY reasonable opinion based on the supporting evidence. At this point it’s a much more reasonable opinion that he’s the worst ever than that he is a functioning backup. I feel like his INT percentage of 9.2% as the lowest of any of the 356 QBs is also a fact. Only one other guy being above 7% is also a fact. Maybe I’m not the one struggling to determine what’s a fact? We agree though, Peterman’s incompetence on the football field is someone else’s fault. His interceptions are the receivers fault. The talent around him was Beane’s fault. Why do we make excuses for him?!? That’s why I constantly defend this position!!! Let’s call it what it is. At this juncture he has played as poorly at the position as any player ever. You might think it’s 3rd worst, or 5th worst but there is no argument to be made that he’s anywhere but near the bottom. He absolutely could be the worst ever and still in the league. In order to be the worst ever at something you will have had to have done it. Peterman likely is in the league this year. His performance in actual NFL games has been worse than any player with a similar opportunity. Those things can both be true.
  8. That’s totally fair. I think that’s part of the reason that the Bills added so many guys via the draft and FA over the last few years. They were trying to get more bites at the apple. As an example, I’m not sure if Long or Feliciano or even Spain are that good. Instead of adding one and hoping that they were good the Bills brought them all in to increase their chances of one or 2 being good. It’s the same thing at TE. They brought in 2 vets and drafted 2 more. They all come with questions but you increase your odds by increasing the bodies. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll address the issues but you are certainly more likely too.
  9. This team just traded up to draft a TE in the top 96 picks. He’s, physically, as gifted as pretty much any TE that they have ever had. He doesn’t have a resume but physically stacks up with any TE. They signed another TE to a $19M deal. He caught 7 TDs in 2017. They added back Smith and used a pick on Sweeney. They had Jason Croom playing a lot last year. He’s 5th in this group. The depth is greatly improved there. Corey Thompson has had a big camp. He can potentially develop into a starter. He’s young. If not, you can try to squeeze another season out of Zo, sign someone else or draft a guy. Milano and Edmunds are 3 down guys. If Zo wasn’t so effective a lot of those snaps would be eaten up by an extra DB. It’s probably a “big nickel” type like Siran Neal. He played CB, S and LB in college. I think Jaquan Johnson did as well. They signed the most FAs in the NFL this year (at least they had through the first month). With the new facility and their reputation the Bills have had ZERO issue in attracting free agents. That’s a lazy (and wrong) take. The Bills have an open window with their best talents on rookie contracts. This is the EXACT time that you spend to attract top talent. We do agree that Josh needs to continue to develop. We also agree that he needs a number 1 target. With that being said the guys that he’s throwing to this year are MILES ahead of the guys that he had last year (hence roster depth). I expect the 1st round pick to be used on a number 1 receiver. While Jerry Jeudy is a dream they won’t get a shot at him. Shenault or Lamb or Higgins could all fill that role. Not really a homer at all, I’m just a realist. The middle to back of the Bills roster is really strong. They need stars and top end talent. This isn’t going to be a year where they sign 18 FAs again (or whatever it was). They are going to target some impact players (ie Clowney) and pull the trigger.
  10. This feels harsh to me. He might not have been worth pick 19 but if it was pick 49 we’d think it was solid. He’s a solid player and pretty well-rounded. I’d call him a C+. Busts to me are guys that flame out after their first contract (or sooner). Shaq is going to have a 10 year career IMO if he stays healthy. What percentage of 19th picks make it a decade? 50%? Less? I have no idea but that feels better than a D+.
  11. So you trade Nsekhe & a 2nd. You can always tag him. If you decide not to you get him for a year and a 3rd round comp pick the next year. Also, Clowney functionally has a no-trade clause. He has to agree to the tender before getting traded. If he doesn’t like the destination he won’t go. Gaine wanted him extended and that’s part of the reason he is gone. If Clowney does agree to come here there’s a VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY good chance that the Bills and his agent have discussed the parameters of a deal. Gaine already knows what it will take. If the Bills trade for him it’s because they are comfortable with that number.
  12. You tag him if you have to. You also hired the former Texans GM that tried to negotiate his extension. He knows EXACTLY what it will take to keep him. If Clowney agrees to a trade to the Bills it is fairly certain that there is a wink-wink agreement in place for after the season. Dare to be great. If he leaves in FA, you’ll get a 3rd round comp pick back.
  13. Really?!? A 34 year old swing tackle and a draft pick for Clowney? This is a no brainer IMO. Clowney is in the backfield on every play and fits PERFECTLY into our defense. That defense will go from very good to the best in football (and potentially historically good). If the offense is decent (not even good) that team wins 10 games. They are a better version of last year’s Bears with a higher ceiling. They could legitimately contend for a Super Bowl.
  14. Ironic (but I guess iconic too)
  15. Where are we locking her?
  16. On a side note, how long before these are illegal? Over/under 10 months?
  17. @Howard made an appearance. @Jimmy Spagnola can’t be far behind...
  18. As an early White Claw adopter I am all for this. I was drinking White Claws before it became ironic, when it was just ya know... They are delicious and it doesn’t eat up your calories. Some confident, brave pioneers, like myself, paved the way for bros everywhere. So to all of those Chad’s and Brad’s that were too insecure to indulge on the ground floor, you’re welcome
  19. Howard >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
  20. Really? The depth on this roster is near the top of the league. We still have, in this scenario (a 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th) and the most cap space in the league. We have better TE depth than we’ve had since the mid 90’s (and maybe better) and added 9 OL. LB depth is young but not weak. Where do you draft a depth LB? Round 4? Good, because we still have that. If you have concerns about the roster development moving forward I don’t know what to tell you. They are in as good a position as any team moving forward. They have young (cheap talent), the most cap space in the league and depth all over (especially on d). They need some top end talent but they have the resources to do that.
  21. Just not sure where the money is going to go otherwise. The Bills don’t have many holes and have the most cap space in football. I expect them to add a couple of stars (like Clowney) and then work to extend a few of our own. That would still leave the Bills with loads of cap space. Hypothetically, say we deal our 2nd and Shaq for Clowney. We tag him if we have to but I’m sure Gaine knows the parameters of a deal. He was supposedly Clowney’s biggest fan. The Bills next offseason could: - Re-Sign Clowney - Sign Costanzo or Scherff to solidify the line - Extend Tre White - Extend Poyer - Draft one of those stud receivers in the 1st like Shenault (won’t get a sniff of Jeudy) That roster would be amazing. The Bills would still have lots of cap flexibility and very few holes.
  22. This makes too much sense. I’m not sure how we get in on this (especially with Waddle out). If he was healthy I guess we could have tried Nsekhe and a 2nd/3rd. The hope is that they would believe Nsekhe was a hidden gem buried on a strong depth chart. 3-way deal with Washington? 2nd to Washington, Williams to Houston, Clowney to Bills
  23. I gave the numbers earlier in the thread that support “worst.” Using the most highly touted QB prospect of all-time as a comparison is craziness. Peyton started slowly but was never going to fail. He was the safest pick at QB EVER. We do agree on one thing, “I think it's fair to say that Peyton proved himself a better QB than Peterman ever will.”
  24. I think Bodine and McDermott has those non-contact jerseys on for the Colts game too. Doesn’t seem like much of an update...
  25. I think that’s it’s in the range of 200. It’s maybe 15 on the road and 185 at home. I really don’t know though. It’s somewhere around there.
