I know that I’m in the minority and an admitted OSU homer but I’d prefer Keenum. I preferred Eli to Daniel Jones for the same reason. Give me the less talented guy with a resume of mediocrity (or in Eli’s case washed up). I don’t think it will matter this week but I’m positive Keenum wouldn’t beat us.

Drew Bledsoe debate topic
Kirby Jackson replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Look above after those 8 games. Fitz, Tyrod, and Flutie were all better than Bledsoe. After 8 games was 18-22 and had 43 TDs and 57 turnovers!! For some perspective Tyrod was 23 -20 as a starter. He had 65 TDs and 21 turnovers. Tyrod won more, made more plays, and made less mistakes. He was hot for 8 games like Trent Edwards was. For some reason Bills fans give him WAY more credit than he deserved. Bledsoe was a bad football player by the time he got to the Bills. -

Ha ha The Bills used to have a trade account with Kelseys and Montana’s in OP. A lot of people were authorized to just sign for their food and drinks. Bledsoe went to the Montana’s on NF Blvd. with his family and ran up like a $300 tab (tough to do there). He was like “just put it on the Bills tab.” There was no tab there. He threw a FIT. Ha ha -

I don’t think that there is a player in Bills history that is, undeservedly, remembered more fondly than Bledsoe. Everyone remembers those 1st 8 games like that was most of his time in a Bills uniform. After those first 8 games Bledsoe’s record was 18-22. He completed 702-1,213 for a 57.9% completion percentage. He threw 39 TDs and 38 INTs. Bledsoe was sacked 110 times in 40 games!!! He also lost 19 fumbles in those same 40 games!! He had 4 rushing TDs in that window. So to recap he had 43 total TDs and 57 turnovers!!!! That is an atrocious 2.5 years!!! He was NOT even an acceptable player after the first 8 games yet some people remember him as a star. Not trying to go down this road but Tyrod and Fitz were light years ahead of Bledsoe as a Bills QBs. After the first 8 games Bledsoe was no better than any of the other post-Kelly scrubs. -
The Morning After the NFL Trade Deadline
Kirby Jackson replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It’s funny @H2o I was thinking the same thing yesterday about the comp picks role in all of this. It basically sets a floor for what a team will accept. The Bengals are probably going to lose AJ Green in FA this offseason. They have no wins. It would have made a ton of sense to deal him yesterday. That would have happened in any other sport. With the comp pick formula in the NFL though the Bengals are probably going to get a 3rd in 2021 if he walks this offseason. That means that they had to get AT LEAST a 3rd this year to consider it. The teams acquiring him are thinking, “I’m not giving up a 3rd or more for 8 weeks of him.” It makes a lot of sense to me to see the top guys, in their prime, moving (Mack, Ramsey, OBJ, almost Adams) because the compensation is there. The role players or guys with expiring contracts/injuries are much tougher to move. -
It’s honestly been something that I’ve been wondering for a while. When I worked for the Hornets we had an invocation before every game. It was always a little uncomfortable but we did it. Then we didn’t. I don’t think one person complained when it went away. They did it for years and then they didn’t. No one cared

I’ve been pretty outspoken on my thoughts on Bledsoe when he was with the Bills. If you take out the 1st 8 games that he played here he’s pretty much the same guy as Losman, Edwards, EJ, etc... If you don’t believe me, pull up the numbers. With that being said he had a few nice years prior to coming to Buffalo. I wouldn’t say that he was a total bust like Jamarcus Russell or David Carr but his career is closer to Alex Smith than Peyton Manning. He was an okay NFL QB for about 5 years and then a bad NFL QB. -
So we believe that a senior NFL writer for ESPN is just making this up? That’s an odd position to take. At any rate, it makes sense from where I’m sitting assuming the price is right. He scored 38 TDs between 2016 and the start of this season. He ha averaged 106 scrimmage yards a game in that same span. The Bills lack playmakers. He makes this team better.

He thinks he doesn’t work hard. He has some physical ability but doesn’t get any better. -

Not sure if this is relevant here but I try to share when I hear things. I was with my buddy that’s a scout for the Falcons Saturday and he said they’ve been trying to trade Beasley for weeks and can’t get anything. It looks like Jay Glazer reported something similar today. Also, there’s no chance that they’d ever consider trading Julio and they are going to cut Trufant in the offseason. -

He’s not a game breaker imo. Regardless, it wouldn’t make them worse to have better playmakers. -

The Bills could use some playmakers. I don’t really care about the position either. They need some guys that make things happen with the ball in their hands. -

There are a few that are good. Pat Pete is still good. Ramsey is an idiot but elite. Lattimore and Humphrey are really good players. There are a bunch in the mix (including Tre).

I agree with all of this. Tre made the Gilmore loss okay. If Gilmore is 1, Tre is somewhere in the top 5. He’s a great, great football player (and character).
