  1. LSU is different. They are one of the best couple of teams in the country. Ohio State, LSU and everyone else this is exactly right
  2. I’m not trying to say “I told you so” but they just aren’t that good. This isn’t a fluke. LSU is a much better team. Alabama can’t stop anybody. They are still a top 10(ish) team but they aren’t a title contender.
  3. Yeah, he started banging a booster’s wife at WMU I think. He has Petrino tendancies.
  4. Didn’t see that coming. Great game from Antoine Winfield Jar. Pj Fleck is a scumbag but he’s done a great, great job.
  5. I can’t see PSU being tested today.
  6. It’s the same team that stomped out Georgia in the Sugar Bowl a few months earlier. They were a different team in late August than they are now. The rankings are based on the talent on the roster. Obviously losing 6 defensive starters makes them, or any team, different. Look, I’m not an LSU fan. I just follow it all closely and can say, with confidence that they are COMPLETELY different than past teams. The past teams had the skill players and Les Miles offense. Now they have the skill players, the Heisman favorite at QB and Sean Payton’s offense. It’s night and day.
  7. Texas was a top 10 team at the time. They have lost 6 defensive starters and it was in Texas. It was a good win at the time.
  8. They won at Texas and beat UF and Auburn. They, without question, have the best wins in the country. Obviously Bama is the next step but this is a different LSU team and a different Bama team. Neither defense is very good. I just think LSU’s offense (especially with a banged up Tua) is better. Joe Brady is the single biggest difference and it is a MASSIVE difference. I’m saying 45 -31 LSU.
  9. I follow the SEC pretty closely living there. This is the first year in a while where I think LSU is definitely the best team. There were a lot of times that people thought they were on par with Alabama but there was always a gap. I’ll make a bold prediction today that LSU wins by 2 scores.
  10. He had 3 targets and 3 catches last week. He has 10 catches on 11 targets this year. If anything they should be using him more. His motion and quickness opens up the running game. He’s quick. McKenzie is the only guy on the team that stretches the defense horizontally. That opens lanes for Singletary to run inside. That’s not done with pure speed. It’s done with speed AND elusiveness. That’s why teams employ “jitterbug” slot guys. It’s the quick feet.
  11. Seriously?!? Foster never makes plays. I don’t think we will see another game without McKenzie. We may see Duke and Foster flip flop but McKenzie played 68% of the snaps last week. He’s a critical piece of the offense at this point.
  12. If you only want one side of the story you are an idiot. That holds true in all facets of life. This place, like everywhere, is at its best when we have the whole picture. There’s a lot to like about the Bills and a lot to question. Why would we want to do one or the other when we can do both? We are smarter than that.
  13. To me, I’d just assume play an extra OL. You don’t really have to account for Smith in the pass game. He’s a good blocker but not as good as an additional OL would be in short yardage. He commits 1-2 penalties a game. I just don’t see his value? Now, I’m not terribly high on Foster either. He’s open every play. He and I have caught the same number of balls this year. His ball skills are just so poor. He does add some value as a threat though. The thought of him over the top is enough to keep the safeties back and help in the running game. I believe that matters some. I’d still take 2 shots a game down the field. I just wish that every so often it resulted in a catch or PI flag.
  14. Smith is the guy I’d have out as well. I just don’t think that they will.
  15. Taylor Long Foster Yeldon Boettger Sweeney Coleman How’s that? Not what I would do but what I think they will do.
  16. Compere Lapin is great too. I read an interview or watched an interview (can’t remember which) not too long ago with Nina Compton. She was discussing some of her favorite places to eat in New Orleans and it was so interesting. There were some places that you’d expect but there were also some smaller underrated places that I didn’t even know about. As a side story that has nothing to do with anything, I flew out of the new airport in New Orleans today. It opened yesterday. There is “Folse Market” which is basically a whole food court inspired by John Folse. He was there cooking today. I had just eaten but as soon as I saw him, felt like I had to get something. Sadly, my plane was about to board and missed my chance to have a meal cooked by John Folse.
  17. I have!! It came highly recommended from a couple of close friends. The gazpacho was fantastic.
  18. Make sure that you climb the waterfall while at El Yunque. It’s pretty cool.
  19. I bet you’re a lot of fun at parties. I’ve found Puerto Rico to be a beautiful and charming place the few times that I was there. Yes, it’s corrupt but so is everywhere. I’d go back to PR in a second.
  20. I fairly regularly eat at nice restaurants with no special occasion. It’s probably about once a week on average. I’m a single guy though and live in one of the world’s great food cities. It’s sort of a hobby for me. I have a good friend that is a total foodie and wino. She and I will go to different places pretty often and just have a nice night out. The meals range from mind-blowing to disappointing and everywhere in between. It gives me something to look forward to.
  21. He’s done. Gordon was worth a shot. Dez, not so much
  22. Is he improving? That’s obvious and if you vote otherwise you are wrong. Does that mean he’s where he needs to be? Nope. Those two things can be both, and are both, true.
  23. Tebow runs a 4.71. Taysom runs a 4.44. Tebow is a good athlete. Taysom is a great athlete.
  24. I think that this team cares about one another. I don’t think that it has anything to do with their religious beliefs, political beliefs or anything like that. It has to do with building a roster of high character individuals and getting to know one another on a deeper level. He’s made a point for the players to get to know the rest of the room on a personal level. Where did they come from? What makes them tick? What is their family like? These guys have a trust and respect for one another. They battle together. They aren’t united because of their religious beliefs; they are united because they care about the people in the room. Those things aren’t interchangeable.
