Cap space as trade currency?
Kirby Jackson replied to The Red King's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m all for adding Brock Osweiler!! -
I don’t care for any games but the early Sunday window. That’s mostly because I’m turning into an old curmudgeon. It fits my routine. I get up at 8, go to the gym at 8:15, put the pre-game show on, come home at 9:15, make breakfast until 9:45, sit in the jacuzzi until 10:15, shower and get ready until 10:45, get to the bar at 11:05, game starts at 12. That’s what I like. Don’t start sprinkling in 3 o’clock, 7 o’clock, Monday, Thursday, none of that nonsense!!

Eli Manning: Will He Get Into Canton?
Kirby Jackson replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kind of where I stand. He piled up stats and won two Super Bowls including one vs., arguably, the best team ever. I never thought he was that good but his resume is strong. -
Daniel Jeremiah 2020 mock draft 1.0

I may be wrong on Fromm but I am bullish that he stinks. He just doesn’t have the tools. A great deal of his success can be attributed to playing behind that OL with top end playmakers. He’s a backup at best IMO. -
The over under is 12.5 pts & 5.5 Rebs I am taking both overs. In the preseason he averaged 23 pts in 27 minutes on 70% shooting!! They’ve been waiting so long for him they are going to give him some chances to shine tonight. He may only play 20 minutes tonight or whatever but I’d expect 15-18 points and 7 or so rebounds.

Daniel Jeremiah 2020 mock draft 1.0
Kirby Jackson replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It’s weird because a couple of years ago I thought he’d be an absolute star (and he still might be). I don’t see a ton of them and I’ve always liked him. My buddy just doesn’t think that he separates well enough compared to other guys. He thinks that he can be good but not great and said, “I wouldn’t take him in the 1st.” That’s enough for me. -
No GM is going to approach it with this level of fear. They can’t worry about the misses. If a WR is BPA when they draft they absolutely will be taking one. If they have a drop off in a tier you may even see them trade up into the teens for a WR. The same can be said for an edge rusher. I don’t see them trading up early for any other positions.

FWIW, he’s a 2nd rounder to me. My buddy is the President of the Clemson Alumni Association here and is a diehard. He follows them like I do the Bills. I defer all Clemson analysis to him. He says that Tee isn’t a 1st rounder. -

Replacing Mecole Hardman -
I’m with you Bill. It has to be 2 IMO. The lack of playmakers was glaring this year. The Bills have a couple of nice players in Brown and Beasley. Adding a talent that is better than both of them and another guy with a different skill set of their caliber would make this offense a whole lot more dynamic. How about Ruggs in the 1st and AJ Green in FA on an incentive laden deal?

I think it’s more about teams drafting the wrong guys in the 1st. It isn’t about the right player being available necessarily. NFL teams haven’t done the appropriate job scouting. Michael Thomas was drafted after Corey Coleman and Josh Doctson. That doesn’t mean that you should wait until round 2 to get a guy (I’m not against it either). It just means that you should take Michael Thomas instead of Josh Doctson. It has nothing to do with “1st round WRs bad, 2nd round receivers good.” It is all about, “draft the right guy.” This year’s class has a TON of talent. It may be the most talented WR class ever. With that being said some of the guys are going to be great. Some of these guys are going to be good. Some of the guys are going to be okay. Some of these guys are going to be busts. Just get it right...

So who is everyone rooting for tomorrow?

Feels like a poll would have worked well in this thread -

KC and SF for me (although I don’t really care in the NFC). KC is the easiest team left to cheer for. Andy Reid has had an amazing career but hasn’t gotten a ring as a HC. Mahomes is the best QB in the league. They are fun and have weapons everywhere. They also have a great fan base. -
Off-season: Expected and Surprise Cuts
Kirby Jackson replied to ngbills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’d cut Murphy (although he played better later in the year), Kroft (easy decision at that number), & DiMarco. Other than that I’d play it by ear depending on who was added. -
I’m at the point where I’m ready to gamble. The Bills have a really nice team. They should be a favorite next year in the AFC. How do you take that up a notch? Whether it be OBJ or someone else, I’m okay with some risk. He’s a knucklehead but for the most part he has been considered a good teammate. He really isn’t a criminal either (this instance aside). He’s not Marvin Harrison or anything. He’s like a toned down TO. He forgot Antonio Brown...
