3...we have Trey Adams too Most mocks use the Super Bowl odds to determine draft order....depending on where they are pulling those from NE has the same or better Super Bowl odds than the Bills (which is absurd)

So, one of my best friends used to work in the athletic department at Auburn. He ran into the AD at some conference recently and they talked. He told him that there are 3 scenarios currently on the table for college football depending on how things evolve. They will either: A) Start the season on time B) Delay the season 5 weeks and cancel all non-conference games C) Start the season in February Also, apparently everyone wants to let this play out but the SEC wants to push forward regardless. We will see how it all plays out...

Rank the AFC Teams as of Now
Kirby Jackson replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That’s kind of the point. We’ve been so traumatized we are unable to objectively view them. It’s like we’ve been in an abusive relationship and too paralyzed to see it. BB is the greatest ever but he can’t go out there and score points for them. This is a bad roster. They may win 6 games BECAUSE of his greatness. If Rex was coaching that talent they’d have a shot at the 1st pick. -

I just don’t see it. They are bad. They have the 32nd QB situation in the league. They MAY be 32nd in offensive skill players. The OL is pretty good, secondary elite and the front 7 is just okay. How does that team win games? They look like a 6 win team with that schedule. We need to stop looking at the jersey and start looking at the roster. -
The trade that didn't happen

I’m wondering if Beane saying it was an OL was BS so as to not cause controversy when he took Davis with the next pick? I heard Duvernay. Maybe my info is bad? I doubt it though. It’s easy to say it was an OL when you didn’t draft another one after to have to answer to, “hey we wanted someone else instead.” -

They had Moss, Gronk, etc... The Patriots were 16-0 the year before Cassel played. That was a loaded roster. This is not. They are not the same team. We need to stop remembering other players. Only 1 guy from that Cassel team is still on the roster I think (Matthew Slater). The Jets were good with Namath too. That doesn’t mean that they’ll be good now. -

FWIW, I heard that the Bills tried to trade up for Devin Duvernay -
We often have those threads on the prospect you were most wrong on. Next time that pops up everyone please remind me how much I liked the trade up for Zay Jones. I was sure he was going to be a stud after dominating in the senior bowl. I was SO WRONG.

The Way Too Early Over Under Topic
Kirby Jackson replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just to be clear on where they will rank I have them outside of the top 3 in points allowed defensively and inside the top 15 in points scored. -
Alright, I’ll bite: - Baun - Evans - Hall - Anae - Proche - Prince Tea Wanogho - Nate Stanley

Post-Draft Roster Predictions
Kirby Jackson replied to ComradeKayAdams's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My stab at it: QB (3): Allen, Barkley, Fromm RB (4): Singletary, Moss, Yeldon, Jones FB (1): DiMarco WR (7): Diggs, Brown, Beasley, Davis, McKenzie, Duke, Roberts TE (3): Knox, Kroft, Sweeney OT (4): Dawkins, Ford, Nsheke, Williams IOL (4): Morse, Spain, Feliciano, Long Offense: 26 DT (5): Oliver, Lotulelei, Jefferson, Butler, Phillips DE (4): Hughes, Addison, Epenesa, Murphy OLB (4): Milano, Klein, Joseph, Thompson ILB (2): Edmunds, Matakevich S (3): Hyde, Poyer, Johnson CB (6): White, Wallace, Norman, Neal, Jonson, Jackson Defense: 24 K (1): Bass P (1): Turk LS (1): Ferguson Special Teams: 3 Note: Yeldon, Jackson, Barkley, Murphy and Duke are the last 5. PS: Vedvik, Wade, Adams, Gilliam, Hodgins, Johnson, Dodson, Brown, McGhin, the last few spots are for guys not currently here (including a safety, & DT). Takeaways: - The versatility on the OL and DL may allow for them to only keep 8 in either place. They have a bunch of guys that can play inside and outside. - They are going to cut players on both lines that can play in the NFL. I would guess that they try to trade a few of those guys like they did Teller and Bodine. The same is true at WR. The Bills could try to flip Foster/Duke. - Wade may get one of the 54-55 spots early and if he shows anything Yeldon goes instead. - Added a punter not currently on the roster. I do not believe that Bojorquez is on the team. He’s too inconsistent on a team that wants to play close games. In general this is a deep and well-balanced roster. It is as versatile and complete as any roster in the league. We need a couple more stars to develop and I’m looking at Josh, Singletary, Oliver and Knox to be amongst them. If those guys elevate there games to a pro bowl level the Bills can win the Super Bowl. I don’t think that it is a stretch for them to get there. -
2020 Rookie of the Year odds
Kirby Jackson replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It depends how they split carries, Singletary’s health, and who plays in the red zone. If Moss averages 12.5 carries a game, stays and gets to 5.0 ypc that would be the 1,000 yards. Again, not saying it is going to happen but it wouldn’t be a miracle. At 20:1 it is worth a shot. -

Moss is decent money at +2000. It’s not crazy to think that he could have 1,000 yards and 10 TDs (depending on how things play out). At 20x your money that’s worth a few bucks -

I would assume so because you can pick up street free agents and cut a guy that’s active. -

So in theory it will be different guys filling those spots? It’s more of an injury insurance than 2 extra spots. That is an interesting concept and makes some sense. -
Taysom Hill extends - 2 years, $21 Million
Kirby Jackson replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know it is hard to believe but Taysom may be the most popular player on the Saints amongst the fans. That’s not hyperbole either. There were A LOT of fans that wanted to let Brees walk and hand the keys to Taysom. It’s insanity. He is beloved. The Saints were never going to let him leave. -
Post-Draft Roster Predictions

He made 27 FGs from 40+ in his career the most in FBS. He’s 79.41%. Bass was the #1 kicker or Kiper’s board and a Groza finalist. He has a BIG leg. The Bills will have someone other than Hauschka handling long kicks and kickoffs. Maybe they keep 2 kickers? I suppose that possible. Maybe they keep Kaare Vedvik instead of Bojorquez and he handles long kicks? That’s possible too. It is highly unlikely that the Bills roll into next year with the same 2 as last year (unless they keep a 3rd guy). That was what Beane basically said. Things were different 38 years ago. The scouting was nowhere near as developed and teams made WAY more mistakes. The Bills obviously should have kept Anderson though. Much more recently the Bills drafted Dustin Hopkins in 2013. He’s had a nice career in Washington converting 85% of his FG opportunities. Carpenter and Hauschka have adequately handled the kicking duties here since he was drafted. -
I heard that the Bills tried to trade up for Devin Duvernay but couldn’t get a deal done. That likely is how we ended up with Davis (who I like too). Davis will be able to stretch the field and insulate them against an injury on the outside. Hodgins is a big body that was a decent shot at that point in the draft. He’s a jump ball guy. I’m on record as saying that his lack of separation would be an issue at the next level. He has a chance to make the roster but likely ends up on the PS IMO. If he makes the team he will be primarily used in the red zone. Hodgins is a good candidate to be one of the PS guys to see some game action (although I still don’t totally understand how guys 54 & 55 work). I think that the roster will look like this at WR: - Diggs - Brown - Beasley - Davis - McKenzie - Duke Roberts return specialist Hodgins PS

Post-Draft Roster Predictions
Kirby Jackson replied to ComradeKayAdams's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is all in. He wouldn’t have drafted him if his expectation was cutting him. He took a shot on an elite talent with the hopes of upgrading the kicking game. He wasn’t an UDFA. They drafted 2 more players after him. Bass was a priority. They didn’t use that asset to cut him where he will almost certainly end up on someone else’s active roster. He saw a chance to upgrade and took it. In fact, I’ll go as far as to say he was planning on that going into the draft. He may have had Mann targeted as well but he went too soon. I don’t think Hauschka or Bojorquez are on the roster this year. They want more power and more consistency. That was my question. Basically someone Fromm and Davis (as an example) will be on the 53 not players 54 & 55. The Bills won’t expose those guys to getting poached. That changes the roster building strategy some. Thanks @Watkins101!!
