  1. Duvernay would have been the Bills 3rd player taken. This would have been after Moss and before Davis. Basically, they likely would have had Duvernay instead of a few of the guys that they took after including both receivers.
  2. I believe too that’s why when a possible trade out got out there Beane said it was for an OL. I don’t know if that was true but know that Duvernay was. It would be pretty awkward if they tried to trade up for Duvernay, couldn’t, and then took Davis with the next pick. It’s a lot cleaner to just say an OL since they didn’t draft one. **The reasoning that Beane said an OL is speculation in my part but it makes sense.
  3. Going into Friday they were planning on Dugger. They were willing to move up for Dugger as I understand it. They didn’t have the ammo to get that high. When he came off the board at 37 they changed course. If he was still there at 45 though (as an example) I think that he would have been the pick.
  4. I don’t know how much you trust my info but I have a text that I sent to my dad and brother at 5:39 on Friday after receiving a text saying Dugger. If I can figure out how to shrink it down I’ll attach it.
  5. They do similar things but who knows where the Bills had Chinn graded? The Bills loved Dugger. That doesn’t mean that they loved Chinn. The Bills probably loved Chase Young. That doesn’t mean that they automatically loved Bradlee Anae. The Bills wanted Dugger. The Bills were prepared to move into the 40’s for Dugger. Dugger was drafted at 37. The Bills pivoted and took Epenesa. That happens to teams all of the time. Every single team, in every single draft has guys that they want, that they think they can get, that are gone by their next pick.
  6. Just because they loved Dugger doesn’t mean that they loved Chinn....that’s an odd argument.
  7. I think that you got it here. The reality is there were multiple times in this draft that the Bills wanted someone else but couldn’t get him. It doesn’t mean that they don’t like the guys that they got but they liked other guys more. That happens to every team in every draft.
  8. I’m talking Auburn/Baylor too. Maybe I should like him but never really thought too highly of him. I hope I’m right.
  9. I hope that you are right. I don’t see anything about Stidham that I like. If the rumors are true that McDaniels was pushing for Cam it likely means he doesn’t believe in Stidham either. That’s admittedly speculation on my part but if he thought Stidham was “next” he’d have been all about it. It would be a chance for him to look like a genius.
  10. The Bills once tried DESPERATELY to trade up for Mark Barron. They couldn’t get a deal done so they “settled” for Stephon Gilmore. Gilmore is the reigning DPOY (albeit for another team) and Barron is a FA that may be out of the league.
  11. That’s what I’m banking on. Honestly, I’m not sure that the Patriots can win the division even with Dalton. With that being said BB isn’t going to let Brady and Gronk go to Tampa and compete while his team is 6-10. He’s going to try to be better. It probably (almost certainly) isn’t the best long-term strategy but it’s the one that I think they will employ. That will be tough to do.
  12. That’s not what I heard. Dugger was their guy. They had talked about trading up for him but he went before they had a chance.
  13. I don’t think that will be the cost. Jameis just signed for $1.1M. Sanu will he gone and they will tweak a bunch of things and kick Dalton money to 2021. They will sign Thuney to lower his cap hit and slide Dalton in. They can make this work.
  14. I didn’t say that they were good. Adding Dalton though makes them a lot better than they are now.
  15. I wouldn’t be so sure that Epenesa was higher. I heard this as of the start of round 2. Dugger was their guy.
  16. I can confirm this one too. Dugger was the guy. They had even talked about trading up for him. This was a weird year for the usually airtight Bills. The virtual draft had more info slipping out than usual. Additionally, they tried to trade up for Duvernay.
  17. Well the Pats just got better
  18. I’m not sure what the Bills record will be with their schedule but I think that the Bills, Chiefs and Ravens are the 3 best teams in the AFC.
  19. I never understood it but didn’t think it was BS. I’m assuming it’s primarily Payton’s ego. If he’s right he probably ends up in the HOF (he might anyways). It is a legacy play at some level. It’s bold but if there is one thing Sean Payton believes in it is Sean Payton.
  20. What Duncan is saying is that if Brees misses a few games like last year Jameis will play. If Brees goes down for the season or for some odd reason the Saints are out of it Taysom will take over. Keep in mind Duncan has been all in on this for a while. It’s human nature to want to be right. With that being said, that’s consistent with what seems to be coming out of the offices on Airline Drive. I guess I could see the gamble if he were 24. He will be 31 in 2021. That feels like an odd time to become a franchise QB. I guess that’s about when Steve Beurlein became a franchise guy but that feels odd. Jameis is 4 years younger and has already started for 5 years.
  21. Winston signed for $1.1M. He will play if Brees gets hurt or misses games. Taysom will play his “slash” role throughout the year. The Saints will find a way to use Taysom at QB this year like the Bills once did Brad Smith. He will play some wildcat and will throw the ball some.
  22. I’m with you. Honestly, it’s Payton’s ego imo. He believes that he can design an offense around what he does well. The weirdest part for me is that Hill is already 30 (or will be this year).
  23. I’m being serious here. This has nothing to do with Duncan’s tweet. The Saints are going to give him a chance.
