  1. WAY better!! After his 1st 8 games Bledsoe was horrendous for the Bills. He had like a 1:1 TD to INT and was sacked a zillion times. His Bills career is more overrated than any player in franchise history. He was not just a decent QB after the first 8 games. His play and numbers are in EJ/Losman/Edwards territory.
  2. That’s what it has to be. He’s played at a very high level since entering the league. He’s a top 10 guy right now. The weird part is that even though he’s only 26 he may never be a top 5 guy. At the same time his best season was his most recent one so it’s probably not fair to assume that he’s done progressing.
  3. I do like Poyer more at this point. I get that others prefer Hyde. Poyer just makes more plays. I guess the flip side is that Hyde prevents a lot of big plays. I’m really happy to have both but if I could only have one it would be Poyer for me. I know stats aren’t everything for a safety but he does have a lot of tackles for the position. He has 302 tackles over the last 3 years. I can’t post the graphic here but there are a lot of plays being made on his end.
  4. Since the start of the Super Bowl era 2 QBs have 15,000 yards passing and 40 wins in their first 4 seasons - Dan Marino and Dak Prescott.
  5. The thing you’re discounting though is Allen has taken GIANT steps. There are a lot of ultra talented guys that never make it. There are others that do. Allen should be looked at more on the trajectory of the successful ones based on last year. The Bills are 15-9 in games that Allen starts and finishes. They are 1-7 in games where he doesn’t. In his last 10 starts he has 21 TDs and 2 INTs. He isn’t where he needs to be or ultimately will end up. At this point though it isn’t fair to look at him as some raw prospect with a low floor. At worst, he’s a decent NFL starting QB right now. At best he’s a star. The floor has moved and that’s where you don’t give him enough credit.
  6. Not sure that you want to go down this ride. A whole bunch of FACTS may enter the equation that don’t look so good for some of those guys.
  7. We do have someone complaining that he’s not allowed to harass women anymore...
  8. It’s not threatening but still wish he had a little more awareness. It’s 2020. He’s 69-years-old which is right on that verge of when it’s okay. Yeah, it’s different in the South. They call you babe, dear, honey, dawlin’, etc... It sounds like a bit of a double standard but when it’s the women to men it feels less threatening/creepy. That holds especially true in a more regional situation like this. If a waitress called me babe in Buffalo it’s a lot different than when someone here says “what can I get for ya babe.”
  9. Haven’t read the whole thread but this 100% the reason that Russ Brandon isn’t employed by PSE. As someone that knows and understands what his role REALLY was, he was very good. He’s an elite sports business executive. He’s also slimy and had situations like this more than once. It wasn’t much better outside of the work place either. They had no choice but to cut the cord or they’d have ended up in the same situation. That’s where I get it from honey We really do need a “cringe” emoji @SDS. I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to use that over the last few months lol. Don’t ever change TBD
  10. That’s surprised me some but I’m here for it
  11. I hate to say it but my dad is like that to an extent. He calls waitresses “honey” and stuff like that. It’s not meant in a harassing manner but it’s cringeworthy nonetheless.
  12. As many of you know I worked in sports for a while. This culture is rampant. I’ve been out of sports now for 8 years and kind of hoped that some of this changed in the me too era. I’m not at all surprised that it hasn’t. I’m disappointed, but not surprised. It was like Mad Men meets Animal House. We would party extremely hard (out like 5 days a week). It would be interns to the president. You’d go certain places after games and there could be 50+ (not hyperbole) full time staff there. That doesn’t even mention the hundreds/thousands more out on a Friday Night in New Orleans. Alcohol (and whatever else) would enter the equation and now you’re in a weird situation. You have intoxicated executives buying drinks for their attractive 27-year-old sales reps. The women are put in a tough spot. “I want him to like me because it’s good for my career but I don’t want him to like me like that.” And that behavior carried over to the office environment. These weren’t isolated incidents. This was the way the culture was.
  13. He can’t now. That’s why it was such a dumb decision. Next year the tag is projected at $37.7M and then $54.2M the following year. They are going to have to make a pretty compelling offer to get Dak to turn down $37.7M and then a chance to go to FA. Otherwise they’ll have to pay him the unheard of $54.2M. If they would have just went to 4 years and $140M or something the deal probably would have gotten done. Now they are looking at 2 years $69.1M and him entering FA or paying another $54.2M for 1 year. It was a massive mistake by the Cowboys.
  14. I’d stack Dak up next to Carson Wentz right now and we never hear anyone saying how bad Wentz is. Honest question, how many QBs since the EJ draft are better than Dak today? I’m not talking about potential, yada, yada, yada. Mahomes, Deshaun and Lamar? Is that the list?
  15. Again though he’s won 62.5% of his starts. In the Super Bowl era only Dan Marino and Dak Prescott have 40 wins and 15,000 yards passing in their first 4 seasons. I’m not trying to be antagonistic but saying that he “rarely wins” couldn’t be further from the truth. He’s actually winning at a, borderline historic, level. I’m really just trying to get to the bottom of it. I by no means am a Dak or Cowboys fan. I just think that this place is better when we deal in reality. Dak is a very good NFL QB. He’s right around 10 IMO. He’s 26 and just had his best season. The way people talk about him on here you’d think that he were Stidham. All that I’m trying to do is provide some context to these opinions. I see things like “he doesn’t win” and he wins A LOT.
  16. I guess I’m asking WHY he will struggle in the Super Bowl? He’s played well in the playoffs. Whats the reasoning? I mean, I’d understand if someone said “Andy Dalton will never win a Super Bowl” when he was in his prime. He has been horrendous in the playoffs. It’s easy to say, “he doesn’t have it.” Dak has been a very good playoff player. I am trying to understand but it isn’t making sense?
  17. What specifically haven’t you liked about his playoff performances? He’s scored 7 TDs (includes 2 rushing) vs. 2 INTs. He has completed over 64% of his passes for 265 yards a game. His team averaged 26 points a game in his playoff starts. Just not sure why we think he struggles in the playoffs?
  18. Getting paid more than Wilson is a function of timing more than talent. As that Charles Robinson article that is posted earlier said the chance at a Russell Wilson type of deal is gone. He’s getting more than Russell Wilson and with a flat cap that’s a problem for Dallas. They played hardball when they shouldn’t have. I too have followed Dak a longtime. I was in Tiger Stadium in 2014 where he stunned LSU. He was dominant. He’s never going to be an elite NFL QB but he is around 10 now. For some perspective last year he was 2nd in yards, 13th in completion percentage, 4th in TD passes, 8th in yards per attempt, 10th in rating and 4th in QBR. He’s won 62.5% of his career starts. That’s not a guy that’s interchangeable with Dalton. That’s a high end NFL QB. That’s a different argument all together but that’s 100% Snyder’s reasoning. If you ever wonder “why” follow the money.
  19. Again, we have a zillion different ways that we try to discredit him. As of today, based on what he’s done, Dak is right around 10. We can go back and forth with different data points but the more we dig in on that the more it supports Dak. He’s not ever going to be the best in the league but he will always be a Pro Bowlish QB. He’s 26. He wins. Hes CRIMINALLY underrated by TBD.
  20. Those companies do not want/need their brand potentially damaged by that association. That’s the problem that Washington ran into. Believe me, if they thought someone would have just jumped in they would have stuck to their guns. In this environment no company was dying to put their name on the worst stadium in the NFL, for one of the worst team’s in the NFL, with the worst ownership in the NFL and a team with a racist name. How would that benefit Amazon? UPS? Anybody? There are a lot better use of their advertising dollars. Normally sponsors are lining up. This situation is totally different hence the name change.
  21. No sponsor was stepping in to fill the void left in this situation. That wouldn’t have benefited their brand. “Washington lost FedEx because they refused to change their racist name. We look forward to filling the void left by FedEx as we support the name Redskins.” The juice isn’t worth the squeeze and I know a little something about sponsorships.
  22. I think he would have shopped his services. Washington and Jacksonville could have entered the picture pretty easily. Playing chicken with your 26 year-old franchise QB isn’t exactly a good strategy.
