DeShawn Williams (DT) Expected To Sign With Bills
Kirby Jackson replied to Doc Brown's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well they’ll draft 2 guys there. If you’re that concerned about the age of our 5th and 6th DTs (being under 31), advocate for Ankou and our 6th round pick over Williams. -

He competing for the 5th (or 6th) DT spot for 1 year. They’ll draft (at least) 1 guy to rotate in the top 4 with Jones, Oliver and Johnson. This guy will have a shot at the next spot with guys like Eli Ankou and some other late round pick. This isn’t the signing to get upset about. -

I just referenced CJ Ah You in another thread 😂 -
What are your thoughts on the Steelers QB situation?
Kirby Jackson replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Russ actually had a decent year last year. He was once great and still may go to the HOF. Ironically, if they run the ball, he’s probably already in the HOF. He may have a year or 2 left. I like Fields a lot. He has elite traits. It hasn’t fully translated but there have been glimpses. If it ever does fully translate, they found their QB for basically nothing. In a world where teams trade 3 1sts for Trey Lance or Bryce Young, Fields for the cost of CJ Ah You is a steal. I LOVE the idea of buying talented young QBs who didn’t work out in their first stop. They’re dirt cheap. It’s like someone hands you a power ball ticket but the odds of you winning are like 1 out of 10. -

To take it a step further, when you have a franchise QB, the cap needs to be allocated to certain positions. You pay your LT (Dawkins), top WR (Diggs), pass rush (Oliver, Von) and top CB (was Tre’s contract). You don’t spend on your 3rd & 4th DT (Settle & Ford) or ST guys (Neal and Matakevich).- 139 replies

Probably a vet minimum deal to compete for the 5th DT role. He’s a guy that’s played a bunch in the NFL. What’s not to like? Who would you prefer as the 5th (or 6th DT)?- 139 replies

One month out, who are Your Guys in the draft?
Kirby Jackson replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Fair I just think of Legette as a late bloomer (age aside). I’d be surprised if he liked Coleman because of the lack of separation. He likes guys that get space. AD Mitchell absolutely fits the description but his George Pickens level effort may turn him off. He probably loves Thomas but I think he is gone in the top 15. My guess is if one of the top 3 are on the board at 9, he’s on the phone. He can get a stud that CAN be a number 1 on a rookie deal for 5 years. The Bears only have like 4 picks. You could do something like 28, 2025 1st, pick 128 and pick 133. I think that’s close on the trade chart. You’d still have 60 and a whole bunch of late round picks to fill out your depth with. -

When I hear Beane talk about WRs it sounds like McConkey to me. When I think about the athletic profiles that Beane has gone after early (Josh, Edmunds, Rousseau, Oliver, Elam) he loves physical talent with upside. His actions make me think it’s Legette. -

As a bit of a sleeper, I’d take a shot on the talent of Xavier Thomas in the middle rounds. -
PSL Pricing/Seat Selection Discussion
Kirby Jackson replied to Spiderweb's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was responding to the part that said, “I don’t think that long term fans should be priced out of the best locations.” The “people can choose to pay what they want” is an easy topic. The part that I’m struggling with is a solution for the fans that have had the best locations for 50+ years. Why should they be excluded from the market value? It’s because of the way that revenue is shared in the NFL. -

So what’s the solution? The Bills are a business. Should they not get what the market will support? Should there be a designated number of “rent controlled” seats like NY apartments? If so, what’s the number? What’s the appropriate way to handle the situation other than pricing the stadium to have supply and demand intersect? -
PSL Pricing/Seat Selection Discussion

They aren’t crazy now (at least where I am). It’s like $5k-$6k for a pair. It’s spread over 10 months. In the new stadium, I’m expecting a jump (plus that crazy PSL). -
PSL Pricing/Seat Selection Discussion

I don’t think it’ll be a “mass migration” but we will see some attrition. The only mass migration will be he people that were in the lower level between the 30’s. Those were the most underpriced seats in all of pro sports. Those people will move away from midfield or up. The people that we are hearing from now are the most vocal. I’d be curious to know what percentage of the people that have gone so far have declined. We know that some have been vocal but how many have declined? There are also people out there that aren’t current ticket holders because they couldn’t get a desirable enough location. We will see some of these people entering at the $50k PSL. It isn’t an enormous universe but when you look at the whole region (Toronto, Rochester, etc..) that will offset some of those people lowering their spend. I should be coming up soon (got the call the other day). It sounds like my PSL will be higher than I originally anticipated (at least I think). I was anticipating like $12k a seat ($15k on the high end). I think that it’ll now be $20k a seat. That’s annoying but I’m not likely to bail over it. The way that I’m looking at it, is an extra $20k (after finance fees over 10 years). It’s $2k more a year than I hoped. That sucks but I blow money on stuff that I care WAY less about than the Bills all of the time. -
PSL Pricing/Seat Selection Discussion

A suite is a private area owned by a company or individual with a certain number of tickets. A club is an area with upgraded amenities but you just have tickets there. That’s the most basic way to explain it. That $30K number is (likely) the per ticket PSL for the right to buy that seat. The suite licensing is a whole different ballgame. That could be as high as 7 figures. -

PSL Pricing/Seat Selection Discussion
Kirby Jackson replied to Spiderweb's topic in The Stadium Wall
I really think that we are going to see drastically lower PSLs as future areas of the stadium are revealed. The ones that we are seeing now are “best amenities and best locations.” That was always going to be the highest end of the spectrum. If they sell well the future tiers will be drastically lower. If they don’t sell as well future tiers will be a lot lower but not as low as they would have been with a successful rollout of the most expensive locations. -

That’s an antiquated way of thinking. The salary cap has changed that. With WRs now getting $30M annually, you can no longer afford to pay a top QB AND top WR. You need to get elite WRs on rookie deals (especially with the 5th year option). Pass rushers are similar too. You NOW do trade future 1sts for elite players at those positions (see Anderson, Will).

PSL Pricing/Seat Selection Discussion
Kirby Jackson replied to Spiderweb's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is. You can pay it interest free over like 18 months or finance it over 10 years (at least I think it’s 10). -
It did. The Bills have given up 33 PPG to KC in the playoffs (at least I think that’s the number). There’s no reason to believe a larger investment there improves it at all. It’s a scheme problem more than a talent problem defensively. If, big IF, the Bills are going to win a Super Bowl it is because of Josh Allen. Let’s call it what it is and stop pretending it’s anything else. Elite QBs are the biggest reason for Super Bowl titles. We have one!! Let’s not hope that he elevates Kumerow or Sherfield or Benjamin, Isabella or whatever other trash WRs we surround him with. Let’s give him an elite player on the outside and create the best offense in football. Let’s have everyone keep up with us. Let’s be the 2013 Broncos or the Greatest Show on Turf Rams.

PSL Pricing/Seat Selection Discussion
Kirby Jackson replied to Spiderweb's topic in The Stadium Wall
The PSL numbers out there are surprising (and higher than expected). With that being said, I’d like to see the number of tickets at each pricing threshold. I sit in the club by th goal line. I was expecting $12k(ish) for a PSL. Now, I’m expecting $20k but don’t have my time yet. That’s annoying and gives me a little more pause before committing. I almost certainly will but it’s more than I expected for my location/amenities. If I’m paying for it, I want to see what else I’m getting. In London, we say in the “equivalent” of our seats in OP. The buffet was included and food throughout the game. If we are following suit here, it makes it more palatable. Lastly, there has been a lot of talk about how, “they won’t show you the the pricing options.” My guess, is that none of that has been finalized yet. There is almost certainly an algorithm that states, “if we sell ‘X’ club seat PSLs the lower level PSLs will cost ‘y’ and upper level PSLs will cost ‘z.’” That’s a moving target though. They are working back from the revenue number that they need to hit. The more $50k PSLs are sold, the better off those people later on will be. My $.02 -
Help needed for upcoming TSW Mock Drafts
Kirby Jackson replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
The mock draft threads have become the best threads of the year. They are interesting. People do the research & take their responsibility seriously. We end up with a pretty realistic look at the decisions teams will have to make. -
I heard some draft expert on WGR talking about Legette’s one year of production. He basically chalked it up to terrible coaching. The new coach came in before the bowl game and that was Legette’s breakout. He has been great since. He just wasn’t used prior. They played in the Gator Bowl vs. Notre Dame and he caught 2 TDs.
