  1. I’m not advocating for it but am certainly open to it. Say Bijan is 5 on their big board and they project him as an all-pro. If the highest WR or OL is 43 and they project him as a quality starter, what makes more sense? To me, it’s MUCH better to get a cost controlled star than a decent OL or WR. I can draft them when the value might be there (rounds 2 and 3). It isn’t likely to matter though because Bijan is probably gone. He’s just an interesting discussion because he’s a can’t miss star at a low value position. He is probably the safest player in this draft. The TEs are probably a more realistic conversation and they all have some questions.
  2. Remember that Will Anderson said that he is the best player that he faced in college…
  3. Great perspective GB & I think that I agree in this draft. Would you rather Bijan or 44 & 75? That may be a debate (although I think that he goes before 27). I think, for me, 5 years of control, and a potentially great backfield, would be my preference. While I want WR / OL, I am starting to believe that the quality at 27 won’t be there.
  4. For some context, the draft value chart would say that Atlanta at 44 & 75 is roughly the equal value to 27. That would leave the Bills with 44, 59, 75, & 91 in the top 100.
  5. I think that the Bills may move off of 27 (up or down). The 1st round WRs are likely gone. There may be some OL fits that would be a bit of a stretch. It’s possible that the “best value” in terms of overall ranking is Bijan. He’s a top 5 player in this draft. It’s a low demand position but likely a need for the Bills. The TEs may be “decent value” at 27. Again, it isn’t the Bills biggest need but they could find ways to make the right player help the offense. It’s, potentially, a matter of need vs. quality of player. How far, if at all, off your big board do you go to fill a need? That’s what we are (potentially) dealing with. For me, I’d stick to my board as closely as I can, weighted towards positions of need. I’d be committed to helping the offense though. That’s why I said I would take Bijan/ TE > defense.
  6. They weren’t perfect in 2019 but I’d argue, had a shot. They had to have everything go wrong vs. the Texans to lose in OT. The next week the Texans blew a 24-0 lead at KC (who went on to win the Super Bowl). They would have needed things to go right but it wasn’t like the Jags playoff game where they should have been happy to be there. That 2019 team was probably the 5th or 6th choice to win the SB when the playoffs started.
  7. If it is the last 4 years, he has failed. They have had 4 years of Super Bowl talent. I’m not naive enough to think that means 4 championships. At the same time, 1 conference title appearance is a failure.
  8. If it is ONLY the last 4 seasons (I should have read more carefully) it has to be falls short. Only the Covid year could you argue that they made it as far as they could’ve/should’ve.
  9. I could talk myself into it (depending on who is available).
  10. I don’t think that I can. It would have to be some freakish situation where someone absolutely plummets (like Carter 😂😂). If this situation gets a whole lot worse, maybe I could make that work but he’s going to go in the top 5. I’m in the camp of Bijan or TE > defense. WR and OL are my wishes but I’m not sure that a WR, of value, will make it to 27. He OL will have some guys there maybe but possibly not great fits. This class gives me anxiety.
  11. My opinion is that he is a great program builder. If your organization is a mess he can stabilize. That was what he originally came here to do and did it well. I worry that there is a ceiling with him. He isn’t a great game coach and for the last 3 or 4 years he had a team that was good enough to win a Super Bowl. He has been to 1 conference championship game. He may not be the guy to get to the promised land. I voted “met expectations” because he made the Bills matter. He hasn’t elevated them beyond their talent level.
  12. I plan to do both. The Bills are the reason that I’ll book my trip. I’ll experience a lot of other stuff while there. It’s the same thing that I do for every Bills road game that I attend. That game is the reason that I visit somewhere but I indulge in whatever that city has to offer.
  13. I’ve never used them but they host EVERY road game. I’ve attended some of the events. My friends have used them. I can attest to their legitimacy but not to the quality of the trip.
  14. Maybe, just about every mock that I’ve seen or done (and it’s sadly in the 100’s) has him in like the mid 2nd. It wouldn’t be a stretch to think that he gets to 59. I think that if a pass catcher goes in round 1 to the Bills, an OL goes round 2.
  15. This is exactly why I haven’t said “absolutely not” to Bijan at 27. He is a top 5 player in this draft and would give the Bills one of the best backfields in football. I still prefer WR or OL but I won’t complain about Bijan.
  16. At 5’11 and 173 lbs, that’s just an okay time.
  17. If I were to tell you that 5 guys in this draft eventually became all-pros, who would you guess?
  18. I don’t disagree, at all. That’s the only reason that JSN is even a possibility at 27. If he built off of the end of 2021 he was a top 10 lock. It’ll be interesting to see how this year plays out for Marvin Harrison JR. (who is a better prospect than any of them IMO).
  19. Ohio State is a notoriously fast track. His obligation is to post as low of a time as possible. He’s doing what’s best for his status. No one will blame him for that
  20. Dawkins Bates Morse Risner Dawand Jones (rd2) Backups: Boettger Brown Tippman or Wypler (rd3) Doyle inexpensive, versatile vet OL
  21. He is running at the OSU pro day. The receivers are today though I believe. He will run in the 4.5’s IMO. JSN raises the floor of the offense and is ready to contribute day 1. For me that is important in this draft. The Bills “window” is open now. I am not sure that I need some high ceiling guy that may take 2-3 years to develop. I want a couple of day 1 contributors in this draft. To me JSN will be like 80 catches, 900 yards and 7 TDs as a rookie. If you stack that with the others it improves the offense. He will be a chain mover. He reminds me a little of a young Jarvis Landry.
  22. Thanks!! As an OSU fan I’m obviously biased but I believe that. Here is the interview that everyone talks about from last year when Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave and JSN were together: After Olave and Wilson declared for the draft they sat out the Rose Bowl. Here are the highlights of JSN in ONE GAME: He was banged up for 2022 so I think that people forgot how good he was. He maybe doesn’t have elite athletic traits (although all 3 said that he was the best athlete). This guy just feels like he could come in tomorrow and give Josh the safety blanket that he needs while making some big plays.
  23. JSN if he somehow makes it there. He is a rich man’s Beasley. He’s also capable of playing on the outside. I fully expect him to catch 80+ balls as a rookie.
  24. So 2 to zero. It was not zero as claimed. If Josh Allen had 2 other firsts on offense I wouldn’t think it was enough. It’s still 2 more than now and a start.
  25. It is a bigger issue. If you use the Mahomes example, they made the Brown trade. In terms of draft value it was maybe about the equivalent of the 40th-45th pick. It’s somewhere in that range. They used a 2nd on Humphrey. They used a 2nd on Sky Moore. They used a 1st on CEH. They signed Thuney to an $80M deal. They lost Tyreek (but got 5 picks including a 1&2 for him). They turned around and brought in Ju-Ju and MVS. They traded for Toney who wasn’t properly used in NY. It doesn’t mean that every move was right but they are using prime assets and big money to build that offense. The Bills are not. The Bills traded a 1 for Diggs. The Bills brought in 2 WRs off the streets. They took a “buy-low” shot on Crowder. They drafted a rotational RB in round 2 and signed a washed guard. I guess that the Morse signing would kind of qualify as “investing post-Josh pick.” It just isn’t nearly enough. KC hasn’t loaded up around Mahomes but still have used significantly more $ and prime assets than the Bills. If you look at a team like Philly, their asset allocation is that x 100.
