It’s about resume. You mentioned 5 other QBs who are all WALKING into the HOF the first day that they are eligible. Josh isn’t that. He is a young, improving and dynamic QB. We shouldn’t be complaining that Josh doesn’t get the same leash as Mahomes, Wilson, Rodgers, Brady or Brees!! They’ve earned it. Now, if Josh isn’t getting the same leash as Darnold or Baker or Goff or (gasp) Wentz you’d have a point. All of those guys have been skewered at different points of their careers (none more so than Wentz currently).

When can we expect Allen to sign a long-term deal?
Kirby Jackson replied to bills6969's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The price doesn’t go down though. Ask the Cowboys if they’re happy that they played chicken with Dak. If you believe that he’s the guy you take that shot and open your wallet. The Bills will certainly monitor the rest of this year and potentially even the offseason but I’d be shocked if he went into 2021 without an extension. -
Christopher Johnson just saw the news!!

This is what I think too. That comes this offseason IMO. -
This certainly isn’t a good development for the Bills. It gives Miami a chance to keep building with high end talent. They can do something like Ja’Marr Chase and Penei Sewell if they are bad enough. They could turn around and try to get an edge rusher in the next round or trade those 2 early 2nds to move back into the 20’s and do it. That’s scary.

Zay Jones - What If He Played With This Josh Allen?
Kirby Jackson replied to HardyBoy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That’s kind of the point. He’s a fringe NFL player. He wouldn’t make the Bills roster. The 5 receivers plus Roberts are all ahead of him. We are also approaching a point where he goes to free agency. Would a team rather pay Zay Jones a few million or take a shot in drafting a guy like Isaiah Hodgins for the back of their roster? Zay isn’t Peterman-bad but he may not be in the league in 2021. -

Zay just isn’t good. I was wrong about him. I was really excited when the Bills took him. He just doesn’t have any special skills. He’s a fringe NFL player- 73 replies

I was screaming for this at the time. This is EXACTLY how I feel. It’s weird that “football guys“ haven’t come around to this yet. There is minimal downside and a lot of upside. I’m not an “always go for 2” guy but this is an interesting read: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sbnation.com/platform/amp/nfl/2020/1/30/21112250/two-point-conversion-percentage-stats-success-rate-extra-point-nfl-dorktown

If the Bills finish 9-7 I think that they still go to the playoffs but probably don’t host a game (although maybe). I think that they are better than 9-7 though so....

That’s fair. There’s plenty to discuss though. The Bills will definitely have some needs heading into next year as mentioned here. I’m going to spend my Saturdays cheering on the Buckeyes (once they start) and consuming as many other games as I can. I’m always looking for guys that catch my eye or that can make an impact on this team. On that note, and I’ve preached about this guy before but Pooka Williams!! He’s the best HS athlete that I have ever seen in my life and it isn’t even close. I’ve seen a lot of pro athletes and even all-stars play in high school and this guy was on a different planet. He’s draft eligible this year and would be an AMAZING fit for the Bills. My grandfather used to always say, “the difference between a good player and a great player is that a great player knows when he’s gone.” Watch these highlights everyone and tell me that kind of explosion wouldn’t be an amazing add to this team?!?

I think that a hybrid S/OLB is definitely an option. They had Kyle Dugger as their top available player heading into day 2 of the draft. They just couldn’t get him. He has been a stud as has Jeremy Chinn. If another unicorn like that pops up he will be the pick. Well that doesn’t make a lot of sense with the college season going on. We all know the areas where the Bills could improve or have pending FAs. There is no reason that we should avoid following the prospects at those positions to form opinions. Just because the Bills are good doesn’t mean that rookies won’t help them. The Chiefs won the Super Bowl and are starting a rookie corner, rookie punter, rookie RB and have 4 more rookies in their 2 deep. We should always be talking about and planning ahead.

I don’t look at it as a stupid question and you should ALWAYS be thinking about the draft. The goal is to keep the window open. In order to do that you need to continue to draft well and replace more expensive vets. I think that they could use a young, athletic edge rusher. Maybe Jayson Oweh, Carlos Basham or Quincy Roche? I’d also consider Kyle Pitts as I think he’s the future of the NFL at the TE position.

Is it just me or does it feel like Chad Kelly is one screwup away from starting an only fans account? -

Guess that they’ll just have to suspend Waller, Jacobs and Rodney Hudson to send a message. -
He does!! If we don’t ever overcome the Pats it’s not going to matter. His point was that’s what will take Josh into HOF territory. That’s not an insult. Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers and Pat Mahomes walk into the HOF tomorrow if they retired at the end of the season. He’s not comparing him to Tannehill or even a guy like Watson. He’s talking about what Josh needs to be in that top tier. Lamar Jackson has an MVP award and led the league in TDs. He’s further along than Josh right now. He’s earned the benefit of the doubt that Josh has not yet earned. He’s heading that way but he has not been an equal to Lamar 3 games into their 3rd season. That’s not an insult. Lamar has been great. Josh looks like he might be too. We don’t need to discredit Lamar (or anybody) to prop up Josh though.
