No I didn’t!! I said, “I’m not convinced that he couldn’t perform as well as them with the same circumstances.” That doesn’t mean, “at least as good as them.” Don’t distort words to back out of the corner. Most of those guys would be in the 20’s. He’s a top end backup (which is how you get in the top 40). You said that he “wasn’t in the top 40” so I asked you to name the 40 that are definitely better. You haven’t don’t that. You haven’t don’t that because you don’t want to start throwing names like Lock out there. List the 40 that he’s definitely better than. That was what you said. Don’t try to talk about anything else. Say things like “Drew Lock would be a better option if Allen went out.” Please be prepared to defend all 40 names on your list. Either that or retract it because you don’t actually believe it…

Your point about Peterman was, “they once thought he was good because of preseason.” They were wrong. He was a scrub before they drafted him. He played horribly and that was just a wrong asssessment. That’s why I asked you to list the 40 better. You are saying that he is not. I listed some guys, all between the late teens and 35, that I think he could be on par with. The opinion on Keenum has NOTHING to do with a good or bad preseason performance. It has everything to do with his resume and ability to perform at a certain level. There aren’t 40 QBs in the league that would play at his level given the exact same talent around them. If, god forbid, he had to start the whole year for the Bills they would be 10-7 or 11-6. He’d throw for 3,500+ yards and 30+ TDs. That’s obviously a function of the talent around him but I don’t think Lock/Geno would do that.
-
I hate to do this but list the 40 better than him. Keep in mind the guy has 15,000 passing yards and a 62.5% completion. There’s virtually NO CHANCE that there are 40 better currently. He is one of the top 8 backups in the league (and better than the starter in Seattle at least). I’m not convinced that he couldn’t perform as well as Baker, Tannehill, Goff, Wentz, McCorkle, Ryan, Mills, Mariota, Geno, Tua, Zach Wilson and a couple of others if he was given those jobs. He’s in the top 40. You are WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY underrating him if you honestly believe that Peterman belongs in the conversation with him.

He is, or at least was, statistically, the worst QB in NFL history. That’s not hyperbole. I know that some people here don’t like to hear that (not you). Peterman is the worst player to ever go under center. Keenum is a high end backup. He’s somewhere between the 20th and 40th best QB in the league.

Bills' ticket prices soar as new season fast approaches
Kirby Jackson replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
I feel bad for the woman in the article. It sounds like she has much more important issues than attending a game. With that being said, there were tickets available today at a heavy discount. Supply and demand is never going away and in sports, it’s just beginning. Dynamic pricing will determine what the market will bear. It’s still cheap to attend games in December. You can’t say, “I want to go to a high demand game, against a good opponent, in good weather but I don’t want to pay a lot.” There is a Simpsons episode where Agnes Skinner yells at the kid bagging her groceries, “I want them all in one bag!! And I don’t want that bag to be heavy!!” -
OT: Belichick says that Mac's improvement is "dramatic"
Kirby Jackson replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Is Mac Jones a top 20 QB this year? I ask it that way because “long-term” you’d probably take him over guys like Matt Ryan. You might not for 2022 though. Is he a top 20 QB this year? Guys that are DEFINITELY better: - Allen - Mahomes - Rodgers - Brady - Burrow - Herbert - Murray - Lamar - Carr - Russell Wilson - (cringe) Watson - Cousins - Dak - Stafford Maybe: - Hurts - Lance - Lawrence - Fields - Zach Wilson - Pickett/Trubisky - Baker - Jameis - Tua - Tannehill - Ryan -
There’s one big difference. Keenum has thrown for 15,000 yards and Peterman is the worst QB in NFL history.

Maybe, but that’s the point. The Browns are a mess. They’re a very talented mess. They have a sleazy owner to go with their scumbag QB. There is absolutely a path to them winning the division. There is no path to the Jets, Seahawks, Pats (I said it), etc… winning their divisions.
-
That’s why I said, “with the right breaks.” That team is talented and could still add Jimmy G. If the Browns go 7-4 or even 6-5 before Watson comes back they can win the division. See above on Cleveland. Pittsburgh went to the playoffs last year with worse QB play. Somehow they became underrated. It isn’t crazy to think that they go from 9-7-1 to 11-6 and win the division.
-
This division is wide open. Any of the 4 teams could win with the right breaks. I went with the Bengals. Despite an incredibly difficult schedule, I think that they’re the best team. My guess is that all of the teams are pretty close.

Help me understand an OBJ trade
Kirby Jackson replied to Behindenemylines's topic in The Stadium Wall
God forbid the Bills jettison Jake Kumerow to find a spot for Odell Beckham Jr. People, when OBJ was last on the field he was DOMINATING in the Super Bowl. He was well on his way to Super Bowl MVP before getting hurt. There are people here worried about him taking Jake Kumerow’s roster spot or about TAKING TARGETS AWAY FROM MCKENZIE & KNOX. I love those guys but, STOP!! Please stop!!! That’s beyond absurd. Beckham is a HOF talent, with proven production, on the biggest stage. You’d be getting him for pennies coming off the injury. If you REALLY think signing him is bad for the Bills, you’re lost.- 296 replies

Obviously, it is tougher to throw, punt, catch, kick, handle the ball, cheer, coach, rush the passer, etc… when the weather is bad. That’s not a point that needed to be raised. That holds true FOR EVERY SINGLE POSITION. It’s safe to assume, “Araiza won’t consistently hit 82 yard punts, into the wind, on a rainy December day.” We already know that it is harder to play football in bad weather. But his career isn’t? He’s the greatest punter in NCAA history. Was that sample size sufficient or is “it harder to punt against pro competition?” I’ll book that bet and give you 20-1. You name the stakes. If Haack makes the team I’ll send you 20X of what you’ll send me if it’s Araiza. You CLEARLY are not familiar with Araiza’s reputation. He’s not “like Bojo.” He’s “like no one ever” at this point. It needs to continue, obviously, but at this stage there isn’t a comp.
-
Um, the guy is, arguably, the most talented punter ever. Why wait to “make sure that the sky doesn’t fall?” Don’t go through life like that!! Celebrate that we have AN ELITE talent at a position where we were, arguably, the worst in the league. This isn’t a time to be negative!! Enjoy the ride!!
-
It’s a take on Chris Paul being “The Point God.” That became a thing 10-15 years ago. This was just a clever pun to recognize, arguably, the most gifted punter ever.

Thoughts about starters during the rest of preseason
Kirby Jackson replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
I THINK that they will play some. I’d prefer that they don’t. The window is open for a Super Bowl run. I wouldn’t take any chances 🤷🏻♂️ -
We can’t steal nicknames. Greg Zuerlein is legatron.

If teams want to put their returners 60 yards away, a 13 yard return would be a net 47. For some perspective, a 13 yard return average would be the highest in NFL history. The highest net punting average in NFL history is 44.5 yards. So basically, if they put someone back 60 and averaged more return yards than anyone ever, the net would be 2.5 yards higher than any punter in history. Lol, teams can’t “adjust.” They just have to deal with trading 10-20 yards every time in the punting game.
-
Think that he could have been higher but nice to be in the top 100.
-
There are people, on this very board, that thought he was “brought in as competition for Haack.” They’ve been “monitoring the situation” so as to find out who might “win the job.” The SECOND that the Bills used one of their 15 visits on him it was his job. If you are one of those people, go look in the mirror and say, “I’m an idiot and not very smart.”
-
Lol at everyone that thought this was a “punting competition” throughout camp 😂😂.

Lol, I’ve had all pretty much all of these lately. The answer is Bar Bill and it isn’t particularly close (never had 911 Tavern). There are a lot of really good to great wings. Bar Bill is in it’s own tier.
