If it wasn't the Bucs, I would have guessed the Saints.

No *****. I wasn't arguing anything to the contrary. My point was, there are plenty of pro-sports owners that put in less effort, and spend less money who have the same results... franchises that have been mediocre at best for decades. I will take the owners that try, and fail, over the ones that are simply cashing checks. If you never put in the effort, you are just waiting to hit lightening in a bottle. I guess I just think the attitude about them is pretty *****. We are talking about 1 of their 2 teams, aren't we?
-
Yeah, I get that. But they are our good guys, so why not pull for them? They stepped up and saved our team from moving elsewhere...I don't think some here appreciate what a big deal that is. On top of that, they have poured a *****-ton of money into the community. They are flailing with the hockey team, I will concede, but they seem to be on the right course with the football team. Every revenue stream they have is being negatively affected by the state of our country right now... is Kim Pegula any less qualified than many sports owners? It just seems that some want them to fail, and enjoy taking shots at her, specifically. I guess Ijust find it pretty dis-heartening. The Pegulas are doing no worse with the Bills than Ralph Wilson did for most of his time as the owner. They have only been running the team for 5 years...can't we cut them any slack? Or, do we want to drive them away too?
-
Despite what so many of you are bitching about, we are lucky to have the Pegulas. They have made some mistakes, for sure, but their heart has been in the right place. I see there is a particular strand of fans who have always had it out for Kim Pegula. You sound like a bunch of fugging idiots. So, she gave a GM a vote of confidence, then back tracked? Gee..that never happens in sports! If you are seeing "too much" of her for your liking, tough. I have no doubt the NFL is pushing her to the forefront to help shore up their diversity issues. If you are upset that the Pegulas laid off numerous employees, it has happened all over the country.

I have been to about 20 different NFL stadiums over the years. I have to say, despite the crowded concourses, I think the Ralph measures up to any of them, for watching a game. Didn't that actually happen at Jerry-world?

Give me your three top movie posters you would hang in a movie room

Last weekend was the 45th anniversary of the release of JAWS. I finally cracked open the blu-ray copy I purchased about 5 years ago. Although it is one of my all-time favorite movies, I hadn't watched it in about 20 years...god, it is still a fantastic movie. If you ever get the blu-ray, one of the bonus features is a "making of" documentary. It is almost as good as the movie itself. In it, they mentioned that they did a handful of test screenings in theaters before release. It wasn't until the final testing that they showed it with the theme music. Spielberg said though it did well in the previous showings, with the music, you could just feel the anxiety in the theater. -

I misread your thread title, and thought you were saying the Bills/Panthers game was re-broadcast. I was thinking, why on earth would they show that game? I think it was McD's first game as Bills HC, but other than that it was a complete snoozer...both teams were terrible on offense that day. I think the final was 9-6, Panthers! I am jonesing for FB too...tonight I watched the Bills at Jets, November 1979. Bills won 14-12! -

Back in the days when a movie played in theaters for as long as people were paying to see it. As I recall, Star Wars played at the theater at the Boulevard Mall (can't remember the name of the theater) for over a year...well over a year. I saw it 12 times. I think this poster was one that came along later. I am fairly certain the one I posted above, was the original. I remember staring at it obsessively, before I saw the movie, wondering what everything was. Or, that might have been the book cover. -

Isn't this the original? I had it as a kid, and I think I purchased it in the movie theater lobby, the first weekend it was out..; -

Yes. This is an image I found on line, but my sister purchased this same poster for me, while visiting Poland in the early 80's. It is a "prized" possession. -

The Jaws poster it the GOAT! -
Exactly. I know Cuomo had a lot of critics before this whole thing started...and god knows he made mistakes too. However, he had a enough humility to admit them. As a result, his favorability rating is as high as it has ever been. I realize, most NYers on PPP will still bang on him, but my point is, Trump could have gained some sympathy, and maybe even some support, if he had chosen to deal with this like an adult. Every president has bad things foisted upon them...as much as many didn't like GW, they rallied around him after 9/11. Initially anyways, his instincts to just be a decent person won him some respect.

There are loads of them...this is just one of them...in all its' non-pc glory!

No...you are dead wrong. People were clamoring for him to take charge, but all he did was put his fat ass in front of the cameras everyday, blather on and on, contradicting himself, throwing out bad information...praising himself, as he made one blunder after another. He was in over his head. He still is. His response was inadequate at almost every level. He just isn't a serious person. He is a ***** leader, and frankly, not very smart. His only strength is his endless energy for manipulation. He sat at that podium and told governors it was up to them, then in the same breath, threatened the blue state governors, even encouraged people to protest the governors, invoking the second amendment. You know, if he had just been up front, taken things seriously, he likely would have gained support. Extreme conditions exposed his true character. He has shown, over and over again, in every situation, that he has none. The only way he knows is division... I just find in unfathomable that intelligent people can still support him. What I find hilarious is how feeble the defense of this turd has become.

Lame! The stalwart Trump supporters sound more pathetic by the day. Trump is not a leader.

Rank the AFC East coaches since BB came to New England

Well, as one who loathed Jauron, don't forget Jauron wasn't "given a ***** team with a crappy General Manager"...Juaron was hired by the crappy General Manager" One of the things that made him a crappy General Manager. -

I put Rex at #7...at least the Bills had some entertainment value under Rex...Dick Jauron belongs squarely at #8 for me. It was under his leadership, for the first (and only) time since around 1972 that I gave serious thought to stop watching Bills games....seriously. I owe Terrell Owens a debt of gratitude for being the only Bill who finally snapped and went public with his disenchantment with the Bills offense. It was really the only time TO popped off in Buffalo...Jaruon was fired the following week. I was that close to my breaking point. Jaurons teams were just epic in their dullness...and their hopelessness. And the sad thing was, they weren't completely devoid of talent. A sizable drop off between 1-5 and 6-8. For me, contending Bills coaches rank: 1- Sean McDermott 2- Wade Phillips 3- Gailey 4- Mularkey 5- Marrone 6- Williams 7- Rex 8- Jauron I also think Mularkey was a pretty decent coach, who had the unfortunate timing of being in Buffalo at, perhaps, the peak of of the Bills organizational dysfunction. As much as I truly love Marv Levy, his time as GM of the team was just awful. -
Kim Pegula: Regular Season Finale (Headset)
Buftex replied to KellyToTasker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did you ever see the Peyton's Places about the way Mara would take photos in the stands, stuff them into an old shoe, and throw them down to the sideline, for the coach to analyze the opposition, in-game? Think about it...she did as a suggestion, to get insight into how employees were working. Maybe it will help in finding a way to make the Sabres more like the Bills. Personally, I don't have a huge problem with this. I get why some think it is a "big deal", but I don't think so.
