  1. I think the term "de-fund the police" is a terrible choice of messaging...but I don't think it means what most think it means.
  2. No...I would have figured Hitler out for myself. I never would have seen the tweet of this "NFL Reporter" if you hadn't posted it...I suspect others wouldn't have either. No big deal, and sorry, i wasn't trying to criticize you...just in this day and age, it is the re-tweets and shares that cause silly things like this to blow up. It's a lesson I have to remind myself of sometimes too.
  3. So FireChans, you are playing along with making him the story?
  4. Really digging this "new" Rolling Stones track, with Jimmy Page guesting on guitar. It is actually an outtake from a 70's session. The video is a little goofy, but the music sounds great...love Keith's "harmonies"...
  5. My initial reaction was they he was just kind of looking for a little attention, and that he was making some very valid points, in regards to opting out...but ultimately he wouldn't. But then, this morning reading about him going at it with twitter users who were calling him out as selfish, I felt pretty sure he would opt out...and I was bummed. So glad it turned out this way.
  6. Only half serious, and I am sure this is full of flaws (being too late being one of them): How about using NY State (where the virus seems contained) as the NFL bubble? .Work the Meadowlands into the parameter. You would have the Rich Stadium, Giant Stadium, Carrier Dome, UB, West Point, Ithica... maybe two others. You could have games Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.... players may not balk as much at having an entire state to bubble in. I realize, not all of these facilities would have the best playing surfaces, but with all the money they have, couldn't the NFL make it work? If Lumpy is right, and the virus "just disappears" before election day, maybe you can work another state into the rotation for the late season and playoffs? I just want football to happen this year!
  7. If I am lucky, I get to go to one game a year on the weekends before or after Christmas, if the Bills are at home (normally pretty ***** games)...but I totally feel the "worn out mentally" part of your post. I look forward to it, because, I am so desperate to just escape the general miserable vibe that has permeated absolutely everything. Honestly, the last couple of years, the 3 hours during a Bills game have really been the only consistent escape. I am mentally worn out too...but I need football as much as ever. I had high hopes for the Bills this year (as we all did), but now those hopes are just that they end up playing something that approaches a normal kind of season.
  8. I am not sure that Gilmore quit on the Bills...and I never hated the guy...but I never felt he was as good as Tre'Davious has already shown himself to be. Granted, White plays on an overall more talented team, but I honestly remember Gilmore have more bad moments than good, in a Bills uniform.
  9. Fair enough. Do most viewers make that distinction though? People can say they get their news from FOX, CNN or MSNBC but the majority of the content on all of those networks could be classified as opinion or commentary. The article posted above, about the parting shots the MSNBC producer took at the network, could probably be made of all these networks. That producer worked on the Lawrence O'Donnell show...O'Donnell's show is also opinion and commentary.
  10. Speaking of Don Williams songs that Eric Calpton has covered...my buddy Bruce and his wife Kelly Willis with a nice take on "We're All the Way". She can sing anything!
  11. And television is the main source for news for the majority of Americans....and FOX is the highest rated "news" outlet...Tucker Carlson has the highest rated "news" program.
  12. I still don't get the Stafford thing...didn't he test negative, then positve, then 2 neagtives, in the space of like 3 days?
  13. Working at home, NFL Network turned down, no volume...every time I look up, the list of players opting out seems to be growing fast today...nobody of Tre'Davious caliber yet
  14. "Because" would have done McCartney proud. I always loved this one:
  15. My other grandmother battled dementia for the last 10 years of her life...that was painful.
  16. Like wise for my grandmother...made it to 94 with few health issues, and sharp as a tack. But it unraveled in the space of about a month. Honestly, not a bad way to go.
  17. Everyone looks bad when Screamin' Gym Jordan is involved.
  18. Costas is too smart...we must hate him!
  19. No preference...as long as they are good!
  20. This is pretty cool...a different version of Dylan doing "Hurricane". A little slower...love Emmylou's harmonies...kinda cute the way she obviously doesn't feel comfortable using the "n" word...or maybe she just didn't know all the lyrics. Great song....not sure if I like this better than the more famous version, but its pretty great.
  21. How could I deprive myself of such cunning wit?
  22. No, I just come here to see if it is the train-wreck it has always been... I guess there is something oddly comforting in knowing some things never change.
