Monday Night FB Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns, 8:15 PM

I always think of Mayfield, personality wise, as Jay Cutler 2.0. ODB is just a person I get tired of hearing about...and Landry is a good receiver, but he is also a really dirty player. -

I have always kinda pulled for the Browns, as long as their fortunes didn't hurt the Bills. You know, it is that whole "kindered rust-bucket town spirit" thing. I have a friend is a huge Browns fan too...I must say though, as much potential as these Browns seem to have, I find them pretty unlikable. Mayfield, ODB, and Jarvis Landry are 3 of my least favorite players in the league. It is much easier to root for Cleveland, than it is to root for the Browns, right now. -

People will get mad if you say "defensive coordinators kinda figured out Lamar Jackson, and he isn't a great passer" So, I won't say it....but.... -
Yes, she may pop up occaisionally, but Tasker and Brown are the regular hosts. I know people have problems with both of them...but I actually think Brown brings a bit of energy to the show, and he has made Tasker better. I kinda like both of them. John Murhphy was just too low energy to host that show on a daily basis. Brown is pretty knowledgable about the Bills, and the league. He may not know the game of football like an ex-player, but he knows the leauge. Probably not unlike most fans in that regard. But that is what Tasker is there for. ps- come to think of it, I believe there was a day recently where Tasker was scheduled to be off, and Brown had couldn't make it, because of a funeral. I heard them mention that...I would assume Maddy filled in that day. She really wouldn't be so bad if she would just shorten her sentences a little...she does that thing Costas used to do (though he was better at it) where she tries to stuff every nuance of a topic into every question, and after a while, you forget what they were talking about.

Not recently, but I have had that in the past...at that point I just log off of it.

I don't know if that is true. I was coveting him last season. Was keeping my fingers crossed, with all their front office incompetence (or what seemed that way at the time) he might somehow get cut. I can't remember the specifics now, but I remember him having a really nice game against us his rookie season, thinking "this guy could be something". Though he always looked a little small. TE is just a position where it takes some time for a lot of guys to develop. Knox has had a frustrating season, no doubt. Not arguing that we can't use an upgrade, but right now, he has more upside than any of the other guys. Kroft definitely has better hands, but he doesn't have Knox big play potential. This is a high powered offense...they want guys who can catch, for sure...but they also want guys who can turn short passes in to big chunks of yardage. Knox has that potential. Luckily, this year, we have a few options in the passing game.

FYI: Maddi is not on One Bills Drive regularly anymore. It is Tasker and Chris Brown. She will occasionally do a call in segment, and if Brown or Tasker are out, she might fill in...but not all the time. There is all of that (though I haven't had "crash" problems with it in a long time), but the one that really pisses me off is that, when listening on the phone app (I listen OBD for an hour every day on my lunch break) the commercials will just randomly play, while they are in the middle of a segment or interview. As in, not at a scheduled commercial time. It is pretty frustrating.

Underrated.

Don't get above your raisin, huh?

Yes, but he evolved.

“Chris Simms: Unbuttoned” a MUST watch IMO
Buftex replied to Stank_Nasty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. I don't hate Phil Simms, but I never felt like he really offered much in terms of analysis that was anything special. Chris wasn't as good a QB, but he is a far better analyst. -

I managed a large record store in Austin, right by the Universtiy of Texas campus, back when Chris Simms was playing QB there. I know he had a disappointing career in some eyes, but we used to deal with a lot of athletes...Chris was probably the most decent guy of the bunch. Always made a good impression. -

I wonder if the cleaning lady knew her butt was going to be prominantly displayed! Khakis look great on some people! -

Okay, this isn't so much a Christmas "video", just a song. As a connoisseur of quirky, and unusual Christmas tunes, I think this is one of the most brilliant parodies ever...Bing Crosby meets Jim Morrison... it is so well done.

Actually, I believe that was Marv Levy who said that... though he might not have been the originator. Sounds too smart for Buddy Ryan!

Feedback from the steelers forum...woah
Buftex replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right. There is a Bills fan page I "like" on Facebook. Within 10 minutes of the end of the 49ers game, one guy was proclaiming that "This team isn't going anywhere with garbage like Levi Wallace"... people suck. I understand where some of it comes from, I really do. But if being a fan of a team is that taxing on you, you should probably just sit it out. Absolutely miserable fans sometimes....but they are in every team fan base. I think I have a fairly realistic vision of my teams, but when things are going well, I am sure as hell not going to dwell on the negatives...enjoy the good times while they are happening, because, as we all know, the good times can be few and far between. -

I think some of us, for a week anyway, had convinced ourselves Tuel could be the next Tom Brady! Fanaticism is a dangerous thing! -
Forty years ago today, like many I am sure, I was watching Monday Night Football. Dolphins were playing the Patriots. My Bills, in the same division, were in first place, for the first time in my life...I hated both teams, but was wanting the Patriots to win...if we were going to lose our division lead, I didn't want it to be to the f'ing Dolphins. I had been to the Bills game the day before...the Bills had beat the favored Rams, in overtime...I was giddy.. I went to school that Monday morning, thinking all day about the football game, and what was the best path to wining the division, with only a few weeks left in the season I delivered my newspapers, like everyday, carrying a radio, listening to what is now "Classic Rock". It was was a typical, chilly, wet December day in Buffalo, NY. When I got done with m paper route, I remember going to my bedroom, to "chill" before the game. I had the radio on...I dozed off, the last song i remember hearing was "It Won't Be Long" by the Beatles. Probably the ony other thing I loved more that the Bills at that point in my life, the Beatles.. So, there I sat, watching the game. My father was in the room, reading (as always) but would occasionally look away from his book to make a comment. Late in the game, I remember my sister Karyl came barreling down the stairs from her bedroom yelling "John Lennon's been shot". At first I didn't' even understand what she was saying....but as she repeated it, it sunk in...I was pissed at her for saying something so stupid. My father was uncharacteristically mum on the subject. A few minutes later, Howard Cossell broke the news, for real : “An unspeakable tragedy confirmed to us by ABC News in New York City: John Lennon, outside of his apartment building on the West Side of New York City". My father said something like "probably a drug deal gone bad" or something like that. I wanted to punch him. Such a weird day, weird night. I just went to my bedroom and listened to the radio all night for updates. I had Ted Koppel "Night Line" on a small black and white tv in my room...crummy picture and all. I was just waiting to hear that it wasn't true, or that there had been some big mistake. To me this still stands as one of the most random, shocking things that has ever happened in my lifetime. RIP John.

So, am I the only one who never knew that Louis Riddick was the brother of former Bill (and one of my favorites) Robb Riddick?
