Funny, any other year, this would be big news around here...the release of the pre-season schedule I mean....

Chef, I was using the same broad generalazations that others (not necessarily you) were using in trying to pick apart a joke! My ming is dynastic!
-
Yeah, that was a great one too...the late 60's and to mid-70's had some of the most eclectic radio music...an era where everyone played the kazoo!

Sorry, wasn't trying to be obtuse! You just have a pattern of "answer my question, answer my question" type of posts...if you just read all the posts, you would likely get your answer. I didn't "dance around" your question, I just didn't answer it, because I didn't see the need to...you are asking about one specific instance, and obviously it is wrong. But that doesn't mean anything in the bigger picture. I give you credit (and I am being very sincere) for addressing the issue of ethics. It is something that seems to be a one-sided issue for all the "union busters" out there. I would guess that there are a fair number of us here, who grew up in homes where one, if not both, of our parents were members of a union, and likely glad for it. Unions came into existence as a result of unethical business practices...it would be naive to think that unions aren't above being corrupted, but equalluy naive to believe that management/ownership (whatever you want to call it)isn't corrupt as well. This whole notion that "they provided the donuts, so they can take them back whenever they want" shows how simplistic the outlook has become from one side of this issue.

Yeah, I know...like a spoiled little kid!

Great choice...one of my faovorite one hit wonder oldies song was "Brandy" by Looking Glass, for years, I thought "Dancing In the Moonlight" was by the same band...the singers sound remarkably alike...both great songs.

No...if you are so concerned with me answering Post #102 of this thread, read Post #117 of this thread, and you should be able to figure out my answer to your question!

My god, I may actually agree with you on something...

Perhaps...but the way the money is earned is no more ethical, in many cases, than what most of you here(don't know if you are a tea party guy Magox, you seem too smart)suggest all unions of being guilty of.

Yes, he provided the facilites, and the materials, which he purchased with all the corporate welfare and tax breaks he recieved.

There are 3 men in a room, a billionaire, a "tea partier" and a union worker. There is a box of a dozen donuts on the table. The Billionaire takes 11 donuts and then turns to the "tea partier" and says "Watch that Union Worker he is going to try and take your donut"

What made me "tear-up" in that video, was the slow pan of the team draft pick cards, showing the Bills pick Leif Larsen...not tears of sadness mind you (he was a 6th round pick), just tears of laughter, remembering what a stiff that guy was...

Anyone else getting turned off by the lockout?
Buftex replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am a big Celtics and Sabres fan. Both of those teams start, what I am hoping, are extended playoff runs that could go all the way to the end of May...that will keep me entertained for now...if July rolls around, and we are still talking about a lockout, then I will be "turned off". In the past, these situations have po'd me...now, I only pay the whole thing a minimal amount of attention...nothing we can do, and I don't really have a strong opinion either way. I just hope we have NFL football come early September, however they get it done. I think they will...all the details aren't going to matter much when it is all settled. Obviously, as a Buffalo Bills fan, I have concerns about how the whole thing will affect the franchise, but that is/was inevitable all along. -
There are certainly worse presidents than FDR, to emulate.

Rob's House has spoken... -
I was just in Seattle for a week, went to the Mariners home opener against the Indians. Not a great game (especially for the home-town fans, 4th inning was a killer), but a gorgeous night...had a blast. First time I have ever been to an MLB home/season opener...would love to do it again.

Yeah, PPP is only for the real, hardcore !@#$s!

How would you like to have this guy own the Bills?
Buftex replied to Beerball's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I know that some are refusing to acknowledge the "Pegula bump" the Sabres have received, but I have a very good feeling about their upcoming playoff run...not saying they win it all, but I am just so damned impressed with the way they have been playing the last couple of months...while I realize they started playing better right before T-Pegs purchased the team, I think their sustained enthusiastic play is, in large part, due to the aura that the new owner has surrounded the team with...the level of expectation has been raised, and, maybe, for the first time, the players feel like somebody has their backs, on the ice. Pegula has sent the message, the Sabres are players in the NHL. The fact that they won their last game, when they didn't "need to" was very telling to me...I am excited about the future of this franchise. Does it get any better, for a Buffalo hockey fan, than Sabres vs Flyers? -
I am fully behind starting Enroth as long as he is hot (another good game tonight), but I never wantd to see Reich starting in favor of Jim Klly. Hockey and football are two completely different sports. I think it is only normal to expect a goalie to "ware out" when he is playing too many games...Miller did carry the Sabres, to an extent, last seasoinm but was completely spent (IMO) when the playoffs rolled around.

Without calling any names, can you tell us whcih ones you would call names, if you could? We gotta know!

Judging from Lindy's comments, I am not sure. The legue already has a book on Miller. He can be beat with long shots, seems to have trouble with high shots on the upper-glove side, and can be rattled. I appreciate all Miller does for the Sabres, and he can be amongst the best goaltenders in the league for short stretches. I just think it is very clear, he is much better with competition (in other words not Llame)at the position, and he is also, IMO, much better when he gets more rest. This season, he has played his best hockey only recently, when Enroth became the #2 goalie. I think Lindy should go with the hot hand...
