  1. Eh...I guess I just don't see it... Good stuff, from the resident "whiny little B word" of TSW...takes one to know one!
  2. He was respectful enough of the reporter to wait until it was over...I would think you, of all people here, would appreciate some decorum. I am always trying to find redeeming qualities about you, but you make it difficult... It's beyond hopeless for LA!
  3. Now those, I like!
  4. Sabres will be in Europe the first few weeks of the season, I believe...
  5. Looks like all the leaks were wrong!
  6. Bills open with KC: http://www.nfl.com/schedules/interactive?module=HP_cp3#/team=BUF No thanksgiving game...no prime-time for the Bills
  7. They have traditionally hosted the opening Thursday night game...since they have been opening on Thursdays the last few years. That would be on 9/8 this year...the opening Sunday game is on 9/11, which makes, to me anyways, a Jets vs Giants game, or a Jets/Giants vs Redskins, a natural...the NFL is normally all over pageantry and nationalism... They now do 2 MNF games opening night...
  8. Even the president is calling out little Ricky... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/19/obama-let-me-finish_n_850990.html?icid=maing-grid7|main5|dl1|sec1_lnk3|57134
  9. Wow...seemed like the Jets vs Giants was a natural for opening night, on the 10th anniversary of the attacks on the WTC. Or, Giants vs Redskins...I guess the NFL is thinking different, if what you say is true.
  10. He may not care about being politically correct, but his stance on almost every social issue changes with whatever way he thinks the wind is blowing...that hs ie getting so much run (I realize it is very early still) as any kind of serious candidate is rediculous...it is rare that I would be on the same side of an issue as Karl Rove!
  11. I use the Shake Weight all the time...and I still keep porking on the pounds!
  12. Found it interesting to read, Palmer organized a similar workout for Bengals players...but it wasn't Carson Palmer...it was his brother Jordan Palmer...
  13. Yes, but I think they are wrong, or, the Sabres game is going to be "JIP" (joind in progress)...NHL.Com is listing the Rangers & Capitals as the primary game on Versus... To further the confusion, the Buffalo Sabres official website lists the game on Versus on the "click here to enter" page, but once you go in, it doesn't list Versus as a carrier for the game: http://sabres.nhl.com/index.html btw: NY Rangers site lists Versus for their game!
  14. You and Chef, the proud papas!
  15. I am guessing that means they will show the Sabres game between periods of the Rangers game, but it won't be their primary game...and then the end of the Sabres game, as it starts 30 minutes later. Pretty lame...
  16. So, the GR55 website says that Game 4 of the Sabres/Flyers series will be on Versus, but NHL.com does not show that Versus is carrying the game...of course, Versus web-site merely lists "NHL Hockey" for the time-slot tomorrow night...I am inclined to trust NHL.Com more than GR, but I don't know...anyone have anything definitive? NHL.com says that Versus will be showing the NY Rangers/Washington Capitals game. btw- if you don't like the way that Versus handles the NHL, get used to it: http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=6389351
  17. On the fence on this one... The difference between the shut-out Ryan Miller of game 1, and the not so special Miller of games 2 & 3 is the performance of the defense. In game 1, everyone was "selling themselves out" on the defensive end of things, but that dedication hasn't been there the last two games...but I agree, Miller isn't the game saver he is portrayed as, most nights. I wouldn't mind seeing Enroth either. If only because the team seems to respond well to goalie changes. Laviolette has figured this out with his squad, but Lindy isn't as likely to give Miller as quick of a hook. If things continue the way they have, in game 4, I say, go with Enroth.
  18. You realize, after taking this anti-government funds stance, to appease the tea party, Perry has repeatedly asked for federal funds...I have nothing against asking for aid for something like devastating fires, but lets be honest about what is going on here, and many other Republican controled states...
  19. States that have the educational problems that Texas has really shouldn't be turing down help...
  20. What if Texas had seceded as Governor Perry had wanted? Education crisis doesn't warrant him getting money that's just sitting there from the federal government. Who needs the federal government? Texas certainly doesn't. Oh, but now Perry thinks it's fine to ask President Obama for federal assistance b/c an effective response to the wildfires are "beyond the capabilities of the state" which flies in the face of his "we-don't-need-federal-government!" argument. Another tough talker who isn't so tough... http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/04/18/us-texas-wildfires-idUSTRE73H3QL20110418
  21. Wow.... That is more dramatic than anything Hollywood could have produced...
  22. Good call...Willie Totten...he was the guy who threw passes to Jerry Rice, at Mississippi State...started one "scab" game for the Bills, in 1987, IIRC. I won't say it was Ralph Wilson, but from what I have gathered over the years, that Lou Saban did have a problem with black QB's. He wasn't keen on James Harris, I will defer to KRC for that kind of info. That attitude was more prevalent back in Sabans day... That said, I don't get the feeling that Buddy Nix, or Chan Gailey would be uncomfortable with Cam Newton, or any black QB playing for the Bills...I can't say I feel as confident about that when it comes to the fans. I don't think Bills fans are any more bigoted than other football fans, but I know there are Bills fans whose head would explode if they saw a black man playing for the Bills...unless they started winning.
  23. The Sabres dedication to defense was not so evident tonight, as it was, in game one. I am not a Miller apologist by any stretch, but this was clearly a game where he got very little help from his teammates. I would only characterize one of the goals he gave up as being "soft", or the result of poor play from him. I can't remember which one it was, but he went down a little prematurely, and the puck deflected off of Sekera, over Millers' shoulder...with his height, and his pads, I don't know why he goes down so quick sometimes. But, I really think he played alright, for the most part. That said, I am not going to let this game curb my enthusiasm for this team...they have flaws (we knew that), but I don't think the Flopers are heads and shoulders above the Sabres...I say Buffalo wins the next two, at home. Can't wait for Monday...love to smack Laviolet and Richards around a bit... Was a little surprised to see Gaustad go after Briere so hard, prior to his beatdown on Arnell... loved Briere as a Sabre, hurts to see him as a Floper...but watching him these first two games of the series, it is coming back to me...back in 2006, Roy and Briere were known for their diving. They both curbed it the next year, but it seems like Danny is finding his game again. They almost never make that call any more...but back then (2006, after the lockout) they were calling it quite a bit. Flopers had an abundance of PP's in Game 2, and some calls were pretty iffy...but the Sabres got a few gifts too...
  24. That is very sound logic...the title of your post says more about you than anything.
