You could be my brother...

Yes, it is scheduled for Verus tomorrow night. A little surprising, because the Bruins & Canadians are playing at the same time...that was the Versus series of choice, early on in the playoffs...

Wow...though I kind of like Walking Dead (just a good sci-fi), I loathe anything in the vampire genre...but if you like it...you might like this... When Harry Met Sally 2 with Billy Crystal & Helen Mirren from Billy Crystal -
Not sure why, but the radio broadcast is always about a minute behind any tv broadcast...it is too much of a hassle trying to line it up...we tried yesterday, before I wanted to smack my buddy over the head...the synching got worse every time he tried!

F%&k those Republicans! -
You have to wonder, would there be a strong push if John McCain had won the election? There are nutjobs out there that challanged his legitimacy as well.
-
That would be convenient for you, if true. Not only was there an attempt to pass birther legislation in Arizona (which even Jan Brewer realized was nuts), but there are Republicans in Louisianna and Texas pushing for similar legislation in their states.

racial beatdown. this is gonna blow up. Very disturbing

Still not sure where the humour is in this situation...maybe if he/she hadn't faked the seizure, they would have taken the beatdown further? The two girls seemed ready to go some more, before being encouraged to leave before the cops arrived...I guess humor is derived differently for everyone. -
You are likely right, but my Celtics could use a couple of extra days to prepare for the Heat, in round 2. It is going to be a great series, I think. If a few extra days means that Shaq can play...I like the C's chances a little better...thanks Sixers...!@#$ you Flyers!

Other, newer, current, shows I would recommend: "Mad Men" (AMC- either you will love this, or hate it) "Treme" (HBO- another excellent David Simon show, second season starts tonight, Easter Sunday) "Boardwalk Empire" (HBO- great cast, takes about 3-4 episodes to hit its' stride) "Friday Night Lights" (NBC/DIRECTV- 5th, and final, season just came out on DVD, despite the fact that it hasn't aired on NBC yet...ratings challenged, but great show...be warned though, you will have an uncomfortable lump in your throat at all times...show always "kept it real", though the finale was a little too schmaltzy for my taste, I will miss this show... "Borgias" (Showtime- new show, I have only seen the first two episodes so far, but it looks like a good one...) "Men Of a Certain Age" (TNT, I think...understated show, deals with middle age men, in a realistic way, doesn't make all of them look like creeps, or morons, kind of funny too! My sister sent me copies of the first season, and I really enjoyed it, more than I was expecting to.) OLDER SHOWS: The Sopranos (all time favorite, if you haven't seen it yet, what are you waiting for?) Larry Sanders Show (Like "Seinfeld" & "Curb Your Enthusiasim", but with much better acting, and richer characters...all-time favorite comedy...) Freaks & Geeks (only 1 shortened season, showing currently on IFC) Mary Tyler Moore Show (man this show holds up very well...great ensemble cast) Kung Fu: (growing up in WNY, I was morbidly depressed, as a lad, when the local affiliate decided not to show the last season of this show...it was on Canadian tv, but at the same time as my other favorite childhood show, "Planet of the Apes"...I picked up the entire show on DVD, dirt cheap, a few years ago...it was really good...Carradine is a terrific actor, and the show had a deep philosophical content, which I found appealing as an adult...plus, it was great to see Kwai Chai Caine, finally, find his long lost brother...doesn't turn out so well!) I am sure I am leaving out something vital...I have never watched "Arrested Development", but plan on tackling it some day, when there are fewer sports on tv... -

So, that is what gets you laughing? -
Oh, I have seen it...and I have been watching the playoffs as much as I can...the Sabres are garnering a bit of my attention too...Celtics and Sabres are on at the same time, tonight and Sunday...Sabres are my priority...have to watch the C's on tape delay. That said, if your theory holds true, it looks the only team from the East that can make it to the finals is the Knicks of Bulls? Sorry, Knicks fans, I don't see that happening this year...even if they knock of the Celtics (very small chance: Celtics are deeper, more experienced, not as injured), you really think the Knicks could believably beat the Heat in a 7 game series? How would Stern sell that? Would Miami have to have a major injury? Knicks are still at least one guy away from being to pull that off...if it does happen, I will give you all the credit you want! So, if you buy what I am saying about the Knicks, it would have to be Chicago in the East...if this whole thing is scripted, as you suggest, it would be a new turn...Chicago, while improved the last 2 or 3 years, hasn't won a big playoff series yet...in the NBA, teams to tend to have to take a step forward every year... I think we are going to see a Lakers/Heat final.

Sabres/Floppers- Game 5 moved to Versus
Buftex replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, you are right...perhaps it was just a game in the series that they played against the Rangers, in 2007...they lost to Ottawa that year, after beating the Rangers...IIRC...I just remember a Sabres/Rangers playoff game getting cut by our NBC affiliate, before it was over...OT I believe...my memory is not what it used to be... -
Just an FYI...tonights Sabres game (Game 5) has been moved to Versus. They were originally supposed to show the Red Wings/Coyotes game...but that series ended in a 4 game sweep, and is over...so Buffalo & Philly it is! For me, this kinda sucks, cuz I was planning on watching the Celtics/Knicks game on ESPN at 7pm, and the re-broadcast of the Sabres/Broad Street Babies at 11:30pm...gonna have to switch it up! No DVR ESPN re-broadcasts the Celtics game at 3am... Had a perfect sports night planned... Game 6, on Easter Sunday, will be on NBC...our stinking local affiliate does not respect NHL games, playoffs or regular season...if the game isn't over in the 3 hours alloted time, they cut to their scheduled program...it happened a couple of years back, when the Sabres were eliminated by the Rangers...IIRC, it went to OT, but we didn't get to see it...this is the only thing that makes me nervous about the new NBC/Versus deal...they say that all NHL Playoff games will be available. It you live in a non-hockey market, like many of us I presume, you may get the end of the game cut off...

From what I understand, he is a RFA after this season...before the playoffs started, I had heard one of the NHL talking heads mention the the Flyers would likely target him...with Pegula in town, you never know, but they really can't tie up that much salary cap space with a goalie that will play 65-70 games a year, and another that plays 15-20...the Sabres have a lot invested in Miller.
-
You may be right about Miller, but having Enroth in net wouldn't make me any more nervoue. I think he is real good...I doubt the Sabres can hold on to him.
-
It is an interesting field of candidates. Obviously, some are more legit than others...the most formidable seem to be the ones that are not as well known. Of course, at this point in the last election, Hilary Clinton seemed a sure thing as the Democratic candidate. BTW- pB, you left Ron Paul off the docket?
-
Raimus, your name isn't Jeremy, is it? Work for WGR55? I think Chandlers' point is, Miller seems to be "all or nothing"...personally, I think the guy is tremendous a lot of the times, the victim of poor play by his defense, and just fatigued other times. I think this past game is the first time I have ever seen him "steal" a meaningful game. He was awesome. I give the teams dedication to defense, in game 1, a large part of the credit for that shut out. Also, given his sort of emotional reaction after game 4 ("I don't give an expelitive about what people who don't have any idea how to play goaltender have to say") may indicate that he is one who plays a better game, with a chip on his shoulder. He wouldn't be the first athlete to respond well to criticism. I was watching the Philly feed of game 3, and Bill Clements braught it up. He was talking about Laviollets (sp?) tendancy to yank goalies...he recalled Bob Keen telling his "#1" goaltender..."Look, I am going to play you 70 games a year, and you are going to be better some nights than others...I don't want you taking it personally if I ever pull you...it doesn't mean I think you are no good...it just means you aren't as good as I need you to be, right now...you'll be back the next game, so be ready"
