  1. Hey Joe, when you say "all sports" does that include 60's and 70's NBA? There are some real treasures there. Though the NBA was a national sport then, kinda like hockey now, it had a more regional appeal. NBA cards were never as widely distribured.
  2. Oh I agree, totally. I won't say I necessarily "liked" Marrone, but I do remember feeling like they were at least, slowly, headed in the right direction when he was there. The year he had Orton at QB ranks as one of the better seasons of the draught era Bills. And Orton wasn't really good... I do think that had he not opted out of his contract, they were pretty close to being a playoff caliber team. I am in the may be in an even smaller minority, in thinking that Whaley was doing a decent job of stocking that roster with good talent. Of course, they never solved the QB problem. Rex, beyond just being a loudmouth buffoon, was a huge step backwards in the evolution of that roster. What Marrone and Whaley had been building got tossed, for a do-over.
  3. In this day and age, it is hard to fathom how Marrone has held on to that Jaguars job for so long. That team is a mess. To think, it was only 3 years ago they were thought to be on the cusp of being one of the new powerhouses of the NFL. They have made one awful move after another.
  4. I may be wrong, but I have a hunch the wheels are about to fall off in Las Vegas. Firing your DC after a game, in the midst of race for a playoff spot..and your playing a game 4 days later? Sounds like some dysfunction going on there... but who knows? You are right though...they not only beat the Chiefs once this year, they gave them a really good game their second matchup as well. Addicted to the "playoff machine" on ESPN. As of now, I have us finishing as the second seed (we win our remaining 3 games, Steelers lose to the Colts...we get the tie-breaker with both teams at 13-3) with us playing Tennessee or Baltimore in the first round.
  5. Honestly, I don't feel like there is any AFC team in playoff contention, right now (with the possible exception of KC) that has a huge advantage on us. We all know, it is a "week to week" league. What was true of a team one week, might not be true the next week. When the Bills are playing to their potential, they can beat any of these teams.
  6. RIP Charley. Singing Lead Belly...
  7. I always think of Mayfield, personality wise, as Jay Cutler 2.0. ODB is just a person I get tired of hearing about...and Landry is a good receiver, but he is also a really dirty player.
  8. I have always kinda pulled for the Browns, as long as their fortunes didn't hurt the Bills. You know, it is that whole "kindered rust-bucket town spirit" thing. I have a friend is a huge Browns fan too...I must say though, as much potential as these Browns seem to have, I find them pretty unlikable. Mayfield, ODB, and Jarvis Landry are 3 of my least favorite players in the league. It is much easier to root for Cleveland, than it is to root for the Browns, right now.
  9. People will get mad if you say "defensive coordinators kinda figured out Lamar Jackson, and he isn't a great passer" So, I won't say it....but....
  10. Yes, she may pop up occaisionally, but Tasker and Brown are the regular hosts. I know people have problems with both of them...but I actually think Brown brings a bit of energy to the show, and he has made Tasker better. I kinda like both of them. John Murhphy was just too low energy to host that show on a daily basis. Brown is pretty knowledgable about the Bills, and the league. He may not know the game of football like an ex-player, but he knows the leauge. Probably not unlike most fans in that regard. But that is what Tasker is there for. ps- come to think of it, I believe there was a day recently where Tasker was scheduled to be off, and Brown had couldn't make it, because of a funeral. I heard them mention that...I would assume Maddy filled in that day. She really wouldn't be so bad if she would just shorten her sentences a little...she does that thing Costas used to do (though he was better at it) where she tries to stuff every nuance of a topic into every question, and after a while, you forget what they were talking about.
  11. Not recently, but I have had that in the past...at that point I just log off of it.
  12. I don't know if that is true. I was coveting him last season. Was keeping my fingers crossed, with all their front office incompetence (or what seemed that way at the time) he might somehow get cut. I can't remember the specifics now, but I remember him having a really nice game against us his rookie season, thinking "this guy could be something". Though he always looked a little small. TE is just a position where it takes some time for a lot of guys to develop. Knox has had a frustrating season, no doubt. Not arguing that we can't use an upgrade, but right now, he has more upside than any of the other guys. Kroft definitely has better hands, but he doesn't have Knox big play potential. This is a high powered offense...they want guys who can catch, for sure...but they also want guys who can turn short passes in to big chunks of yardage. Knox has that potential. Luckily, this year, we have a few options in the passing game.
  13. FYI: Maddi is not on One Bills Drive regularly anymore. It is Tasker and Chris Brown. She will occasionally do a call in segment, and if Brown or Tasker are out, she might fill in...but not all the time. There is all of that (though I haven't had "crash" problems with it in a long time), but the one that really pisses me off is that, when listening on the phone app (I listen OBD for an hour every day on my lunch break) the commercials will just randomly play, while they are in the middle of a segment or interview. As in, not at a scheduled commercial time. It is pretty frustrating.
  14. Apparently, he does it at every road game. My memory is hazy, but I think there was a mele' between him and players from another team, earlier this season...Ravens I think.
  15. Agreed. I don't hate Phil Simms, but I never felt like he really offered much in terms of analysis that was anything special. Chris wasn't as good a QB, but he is a far better analyst.
  16. I managed a large record store in Austin, right by the Universtiy of Texas campus, back when Chris Simms was playing QB there. I know he had a disappointing career in some eyes, but we used to deal with a lot of athletes...Chris was probably the most decent guy of the bunch. Always made a good impression.
  17. When I clicked on th video, for some reason it statted about two and a half minutes in...it was the first thing I noticed!
  18. I wonder if the cleaning lady knew her butt was going to be prominantly displayed! Khakis look great on some people!
  19. I don't mind the red jersey, but not a big fan of the all-red. But honestly, they could wear Sabres slug uniforms and I wouldn't care, at this point. Love watching this team.
