I think the fact that she was a great singer, and the fact that "everyone saw it coming" is kind of what makes it all the more sad.
-
Yeah, that is really sad...loved her records.
-
btw- you want to talk old...I got caught trying to steal a cassette of the Rolling Stones "Some Girls", Styx "Grand Illusion" and Billy Joel "The Stranger"...they were all relatively new records at the time..."The Stranger" was essential make-out music at the time.

Ha ha...believe it or not, I got caught shoplifting at that Two Guys store when I was 13. Scary as **** at the time, but it was the best thing that could have happened to me, in the end...after a beat down from my father, my case of sticky fingers (it was bad from about age 10 to 13) was cured... Oh shoot...Bills on in an hour, gotta swing by Kresgies for a new, high bias video tape!

As I predicted, I was able to lure him out of hiding...turns out, I didn't miss him as much as I thought I would....

Oh yeah, another thing, always break the little black tab of the video when you are done recording...that way, wifey can't "accidentally" use it to record her soaps.

Yeah, I remember he criticized Obama for "sneaking in the middle of the night" to visit troops in Afghanastan for a surprise visit. He said something like "he should come during broad daylight like the soldiers, he is commander in chief. What kind of message does that send to the troops?" When reminded that this has been done by almost every wartime president (including Bush), going all the way back to Washington, he said "I didn't say that was right either". He is a pretty stable guy. I am not going to touch this!

Just another reminder, Buffalo Bills 2010 NFL Yearbook is scheduled to air "tonight" (tomorrow morning) on ESPN2. That would be, technically, Saturday morning, July 23rd at 2:30am. A recommendation if you plan to record it: It is on after a live MMA event, and NFL Live...so, there is a chance it could be on later...my experience tells me. So, you might want to set your VCR or DVR to record a little longer (maybe an hour)...that is all... ps- oh yeah, set your VCR to record in the SP (2hour) mode, as the picture will look better!

I don't have time to read it now, but I promise I will...I will refrain from any more comments. Thanks! HA HA!!!! Go back to your retirement thread...I knew I could lure you out of hiding! In the words of the "great" 3rng "If I annoy you, I must be doing something right!" -

I was thinking more, Anita Bryant. -
GG, West himself used his military backround as the excuse for his language he used for his disdain for her. What she did was just typical politics...if he can't handle that, he isn't long for this line of work. I guess I don't necessarily buy into the notion that military service excuses people from things like this. I also don't buy that it necessarily gives them some superior insight into everything else. I think his weak excuse is laughable, and an insult to the military, never mind Wasserman-Schultz. But hey, he's got Dante's vote! You guys are easy to impress...

I keep hearing that...and I parroting what I hear from Tea Partiers. I know they had their little mission statement, but recommend something else for me to read that will fill me in with what I am missing. Bachmann is the darling of the party, and she only talks about taxes, and government overspending. She refuses to answer questions about pretty much anything else....please, GG, tell me what to read...I can't find anything...I have asked numerous times, here on this very board, where to get this info...all there is that paltry mission statement. The only thing to go on, that I can find, is what the representitives say, and it isn't a lot different. -

I understand what you are saying, and I really not trying to be a smart ass here...but part of the reason they are viewed this way, and what many here seem to fail to recognize, that the Tea Party dogma of "government is bad" is not a universal beleif held by every American. And if it was or is, Republicans don't get off the hook for contributing to that perception any more than Democrats do. The govermnent is !@#$ed up, but, to me, anyways, not to the point that any government official (who is not a Republican) or government employee is a blight on society. Your views are no more valid, or less valid than the other side. It is human nature, hell it is even kind of fun, sometimes to argue about the stuff... The way some of these people talk, they do sound dangerous, and like loose cannons. And then, of course, because holding office isn't always only about taxes and tax breaks, there are just a ton of social issues that almost every prominent politician who presents themselves as a Tea Party member, seems to hold, which don't jibe with everyone else. They talk about not wanting big government, but seem to think that government should exist to serve the purpose of enforcing their special interests, and sending us back to the dark ages on so many issues. Science is bad, we shouldn't worry about the enviorment because it will stand in the way of capitalism...education seems to be looked down upon...hell Rush is saying that the "heat index" is some liberal conspiracy...I guess fat ass hasn't been outside much lately. -
I wasn't annointing Wasserman-Schultz, only pointing out that Wests' reaction was way over the top, and speaks more about his character than anything she did.

I never said that...but thanks for making **** up, just for arguments sake. Of course, all of those things contributed...but everything should be on the table, the big 3, as well discontinuing tax breaks, or, at least, some of them...but the pledgers have painted themselves into a corner on this issue...I think reasonable Republicans (admittedly, a dying breed) can see this. But "no taxes" is the new religion for the 83 newbies, and they can't be crossed... -

I think it was just yesterday, somebody here posted a link to a column by Ann Coulter...somebody dis-credited it, and get the roughing up from the right wing nuts here, becasue, "you can't dispute facts"...Taibbi is pretty cynical, but he has rails on everyone, not just consrvatives or Republicans. I realize, few, if any, will read the article, but I found the whole anti-gay marriage bill that she tried to ram through the Minnesota legislature (apparently her only attempt at legislation), after it had already been agreed upon...it was very telling of the way she works, and what her priorities are. Make no mistake, I am not aruging that she is not intelligent, but I think she has a dangerous social conservative streak that, at this point in time, I just think is counter-productive to anything. As is the (increasingly tired) argument that we should give the wealthy tax breaks, because they will create jobs with all their extra money. -

She worked for the IRS...doesn't that make her a slimey, useless, lazy, pos government worker, one of those people who drains the economy? I know, she was doing gods work...but she was a goverment employee no? Yes, they can explain how giving tax breaks to the rich, and refusing to close gaping tax loopholes have created massive jobs over the last 11 years, and why we should continue this... -

I like her because she is pretty, and married her husband, became an IRS lawyer, and ran for political office, not because she wanted to do any of those things, but, becasue her husband, or god, told her to. She is, after all, subserviant to her husband... I like her because she is helping that nice Marcus Bachmann to overcome his fleshy desires for men. And, I love her because she doesn't want anyone else to have any government aid, but is more than willing to stand aside as her family accepts it... Well, we are back at square one then, aren't we? We have two crowds that won't deviate, and are waiting for the other to blink...but, Bachmann won't even go along with the Cap plan that her fellow Tea Partiers are backing, because it "doesn't go far enough" in cuts...ever listen to Bachmann try to explain or defend her economic plan? As in nearly every interview, she simply repeats the same shallow talking points over and over, and never deviates...that is her strength, her abiltiy to stay on point, and never get distracted. -
I am not going to answer, so you can keep posting "why don't you answer my (completely unrelated to anything) question"? Yes, being annoying is a highly valued trait. btw- being a twerp is not the worst thing you can be called!
-
That is just it, you (and West apparently) interpre things one way, she another. It is a political disagreement. As far as the proticol thing goes, I will take your word on that...but it seems like everytime these issues come up, right wingers seem to want to condem the left for some infraction, and applaud themselves for doing the same thing...is that the way to raise the bar of political discourse? We are all hypocrits, you, me, West, Schultz-Wasserman...LA Bills, Robs' House, ...lillybob, etc etc (except 3rning, just a twerp), so why does this surprise anyone at this point. The issue here, is Wests' rather inappropriate response to political speak which goes on every day...if West is that thin skinned, you really have to wonder about him, in my opinion.
-
What is his point? That only lefties say stupid things? Or, are we just making some broad generalization that anyone in the military is beyond reproach, for anything? In case you forgot, Barack Obama is commander in chief...how many names has he been called here, or other places? You come off very small...like a little kid constantly craving attention.
-
GG, sometimes I think you are better than this...then other times...jeesh... Did you listen to what she said? The two have a disagreement over policy. She didn't make any personal attack on him, only saying that voting against the health form reform was not in the best interest of his consitutants. They disagree on a policy...how does this make her "vile", or "not a lady"? You can hate here all you want, but his comments were over the top. If you can't see that, you are not objective.
-
God, you are an annoying little twerp.

He asked...you can discredit Taibbi, but not everyone does...and a perfect illustration of why people think she is "crazy". Don't know if she is clinically "crazy", but she defines the idealouge concept perfectly, and represents, to many (again, recognizing the fact that not everyone feels the same)what scares people about the Tea Party movement (or whatever you crazy kids are calling yourselves now). A viable third party option would be nice, but Bachmann and the Tea Party aren't it. Of course, if you listen to her talk enough, you can easily come to that conclusion yourself, unless you don't want to.
