Funny, I went to the Gang Green site, last night, to see Jets fan reactions...they were essentially the same as those as Bills fans had about Poz..."good guy, fan favorite, but not for that kind of money" Of course, they all still thought they were in the running for Asomugh (sp?) Obviously, we can't sign, and shouldn't want to sign every free agent out there, but some of you criticizing those who are critical of the Bills, are just silly...you are acting like this is the Patriots, and, you know, they have won a few rings, and know what they are doing... I am still excited about the Bills season, but I am expecting absolutely nothing from them...if they win 5 games that will be a great season...sad how low the bar is for this team, and apathetic cheerleader fans don't really help a lot. "Bills nation" will settle for anything, it seems. And we let management off the hook, you know, because we should be happy just to have a team to call our own. Loved the Dareus pick, but it is hard not to feel, without the addition of a better linebacker or two, he is going to be less effective than we might be anticipating. I am not under the impression that losing Poz is some tremendous loss, but they are on the clock...so to speak. Are they going to get anybody comparable in there? As mediocre as Poz may have been, I am not sure there is a better linebacker on the roster(inside or out) that is better. Hopefully Sheppard and/or Merriman pan out. I don't feel great heading into the season with Moats and Davis in the middle.

Right...you would think given the Bills stellar track record of building through the draft, fans would have learned to pipe down by now... It is true though, everyone that other teams sign are mediocre-awful, and overpayed... Our way, building through the draft (ironic we couldn't re-sign our one draft pick we really wanted, Poz, but could re-sign Florence, a guy we got as a free agent...oh yeah, not to mention the bill of goods we are buying on FA Shawn Merriman!), has been so tried and true, you would think the simpletons here would see that... I read on one of the Jets boards, forgot the link they posted, that Smith really wanted to sign with the Jets, but his agent felt like they wouldn't have the cash (assuming they were going to sign Asomugha), and an offer the type the Bills were making wasn't likely to come again any time soon. Smiths agent pressured the Jets to make him an offer, but they didn't act fast enough, and the fear was the Bills offer would come off the table if he waited too long. Money, money, money....

It's funny...I just assumed he was out of the league already...I have had some personal experiences with Mike, he is a great guy, if not a great football player...more than anything, I hope he can tackle his health issues.

Tea Party Giving Boehner The Finger
Buftex replied to Dave_In_Norfolk's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The Tea Party is doing nothing to shed the image that many have of them, a bunch of rubes. -
I find this kind of funny...we had one guy, we drafted, we wanted to sign (Poz), and couldn't re-sign him, for whatever reason. We re-sign one guy (Florence) who we obtained, originally, as a free agent. If we are really going to rely on "building through the draft", we better hit on a lot more picks than we have, get production out at least some of them, right away, and sign them all to 6 year deals upon drafting them...cuz if they are worth a crap, and we want them, as much as they "love Buffalo", they always seem to find a reason that they "have to" take the deal that someone else is offering them...

I just started and finished watching Breaking Bad

Don't forget the Sopranos...it wasn't so shocking that Christopher Moltisaniti (the "Jesse Pinkman" of the Sopranos) died, but it was more the who did it, when, and the way, that nobody could have seen coming... -
Chan on Sirius Radio with Tim and Pat
Buftex replied to AtlBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am on board with Chan, but this statement, is ridiculous...sounds like somebody who has just accepted his fate... -
Am I the only one left who still likes Lee Evans...he is probably the only guy on the team I would be pissed to see gone...unless they got something terrific in return...

I would love to see the Bills get Olsen...he is talented, a good blocker, and great receiver...he is under-utilized in Martz system. That said, it seems like the Bills priorities, and what I think they should be, are rarely in synch. Who knows, we may have a very good TE on our roster already, but we never seem to be able to figure a way to work them into the offense, as a receiving weapon, because they always need to stay in pass protection. I think Nelson has shown to be a good receiver.

Tea Party Giving Boehner The Finger
Buftex replied to Dave_In_Norfolk's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Apparently, only the Tea Party fringe, geniuses that they appear to be, agree with this. We shall see...lets hope these dopes are right. -
You don't follow him on twitter?

As one of the "Ralph is cheap" crowd, he isn't off the hook, but, this was a great move. Good PR, and just a good thing to do. Ralph!

Right? Might have to whore it, just to pay for it! Wasn't even busting on the grammer, I have been guilty of a couple of doozys in that area, from time to time...but the spelling is comical: " i whore the jersey for the unveiling and it can be seen on the bills websit" -

It appears...I suppose, given the economy the way it is, everything is fair game...if the sells it for $1750, he can buy a regular one like the rest of us, and still have a few quid left over! -
It is looking, for me, like I am going to the Giants and Cowboys games! Two roadies in one year! Should be fun...should be...
-
I had heard, they were doing that, so each team would have, a minimum of 15 days of training camp, before their first pre-season game...not sure if that is right, or behind this...

Tax the Cowboys, Give to the Bills
Buftex replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In this day and age, it seems like our priorities are kind fugged up... -
I liked Moulds, but I agree, I am not sure he was the talent people are remembering him as. What I absolutely hated about his game, particularly after he lit it up that first Bledsoe season, he seemed to worry more about drawing interference calls, than trying to catch the damn ball...it really drove me nuts. It almost seemed, half the time, particularly as he got older, he gave up on plays, thinking the ref was going to throw a flag, rather than try to catch the ball...

Yes, there was Robert Johnson, Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, and one of my all-timers, Gram Parsons...sure there is someone I forgetting...Nick Drake and Otis Redding only made it to 26. Hank Williams to 29...amazing the legacy these folks have left, in their short time on earth.
