I guess, in the end, it depends on how much time, not to mention money, you want to invest in your right to watch tv! I am not really in the position to move some place, simply because they allow satellite dishes, and I am not sure I would care enough to pursue the legal avenues it would take, to pusue fighting my apartment management. In the end, maybe because our team hasn't been all that great as of late, I realize, going to the bar on Sundays, hanging out with like-minded Bills fans (like-minded as far as the Bills go anyways ) makes following the Bills more fun for me...

I actually read your whole post, OC...that is a "change"! And, I know we had our differences, but I applaud your efforts here. What is scary though, as you say, particualarly about the state of the Democratic party, is true...but I will take it one step further (and I am pretty sure you won't agree), that this "selling out to the far left" by Democrats has fugged the party, is exactly what is happening in the Republican party. I don't know how old you are (I am 46), but though a registered Democrat my whole adult life, I have always taken the time to try to understand where the other side is coming from. I don't think I can recall a more wretched cast of candidates, in any election, for either major party, than what the Republicans are offering as an alternative to Obama. I can't take a single Republican seriously. I am not jumping to the conclusion that one of them can't win the election, just, personally, I could never support any of them. I didn't vote for George W Bush, but, I was respectfully optimistic about him, early on. I have found myself, at times over the years, buying into John McCain (what happened to him?), Bob Dole, and a few others....but I really can't fathom any of the current Republican candidates...we are fugged! -
I can't remember which one Chris McKendry is, but the others, IMO, are all pretty attractive in my book. I have had a little crush on Linda Cohen for decades, it seems...I love it when her NY accent creeps in...I quadruple the emotion on Michelle Beadle, but, if you applied the same analysis to ESPN's male anchors, who are as interchangeable and dull as they come, what would your opinion be? Are you saying the females should be judged differently than their male counter-parts?

Raise The Debt Limit Already!

I am all for compromise. But, this is hilarious. Just a week or so ago here, people were ripping on Obama for being a partisan shill... but, Obama doesn't compromise, he rolls over, in the end, to Republicans at every turn. And yet, the people who hate him, say that he is divisive. It's like he got elected, and then just forgot the reasons that the people who voted him in, did so in the first place. He spends his energies trying to win over a crowd of people who are never going to like him, no matter what he does...so, we come up with a debt plan that really doesn't accomplish anything, or make anyone happy. Republicans got pretty much everything they wanted, but it isn't enough... Man, twerp, you are on fire! Or is that man-twerp? -

Well...just in case they are reading...I have been as supportive of him as anyone could be, these days...the events of the last few days were a pretty bad blow to my faith in him...he will very likely still have my vote in 2012, unless somebody comes along that really gets me enthusiastic. Republican-Tea Party isn't likely to offer up anything... -
I can't say that I really have much use for any of the pre-game shows...they are all pretty bad. That said, I think the SNF games are the best broadcasts. Btw- the horse trailer thing, I think, was retired with Madden...I know some don't like Chris Collinsworth, but I think he and Michaels work pretty well toghter.

Yes, if nothing else, the Bills have a rich history of beating the teams we imagine they are better than, in August!

In that ESPN book that recently came out, they mention something about how ESPN, despite being the biggest cheerleaders for the NFL (it benefits them too) has always felt that they get short changed by the league, in comparison to the old time major networks. I guess there is still some stigma attached to beig an "only cable" channel. Honestly, while I don't care about the Jags enough to watch them twice on MNF (though I am sure I will) about halfway through last season, I just felt like it seemed like there were 4 or 5 teams in the NFL, and the rest were irrelevent, from the amount of covereage they got. I felt like I saw every Packers, Steelers, Cowboys, Colts, and Pats game, I got sick of seeing them all play...it was kind of refreshing, at lesat now and again, to see some of the "lesser" teams, like San Francisco, Arizona, Cincy...it makes more sense, I suppose for thos matchups to be on ESPN than NBC. Either way, MNF ain't what it used to be...

Cheerleaders lack perspecitive. Agreed...not saying it can't happen, but when you have about 10 crappy drafts in a row, it might be time to try something a little different. I don't agree with the notion that the Bills front office doesn't have the desire to win, but I do agree, whether by economic necessity, or just some sort of outdated football acumen, the franchise just seems to have a smug "we'll do it the old school way, and do it right"...which I would be fine wirth, if they had some sort of track record to back it up with.

Didn't Talley, or doesn't he still, own a McDonalds franchise or two? It seems like Gailey has complained about it, pretty consistently. Maybe I am reading between the lines, but it always sounds like Gailey is saying Maybin wants to be a NFL star, but he doesn't know how, or is unwilling to do the work it takes to get recognized as such.

No, I am sure it is just my computer. When I accessed it with the link you posted, it worked fine. Don't know why I have that problem sometimes. For instance, when I try to access WGR55 from the link under resources on two bills drive, it never works...but if I go to the Sabres board (Sabrespace)the link works fine...very confusing!

Thanks! For some reason, I can get in there with that link, but not when I tried to find it via google...very strange.

Cowherd AFCE prognostication from today's show
Buftex replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I heard him, in his nausiating way, "pity" teams like Buffalo and Cincinnati (he is very hight on Detroit and Cleveland however!) saying that "as much as the NFL does to create parity in their legue, teams like Buffalo and Cincinnati will never be able compete"...it is all economcs, it seems, to him. They will never be able to attract the caliber of FA's that the big market teams attract, and will, basically, have to overpay almost anybody to play for them, because, presumably, Buffalo and Cincinnati, on top of having dubious owenership, are not attractive destinations for young athletes. My own take, economics are huge, and there is some merit to what he says, but you can get some luck along the way...otherwise Detroit and Cleveland wouldn't stand a chance either. He has been blowing both of those teams any time he has a chance to. ...Cowherd is the worst! -

It is kind of crazy, because it is the NFL, and they want to protect their broadcasts, you can't access any of the games, while there are nationally televised games on regular tv. So, I remember last year, having to work on Sunday, coming home, crashing a few hours, and then getting up around 9:30pm (10:30 eastern) to watch the Bills game from that day...I couldn't access it, until the Sunday night game on NBC was over. So, it probably is sometime between 11pm-midnight, eastern time. That is kind of a drag, but for me, I really only depend on it once a season, to see a Bills game exclusively. The rest of the season, I go to the bar, watch the game, and then, can access it the rest of the week (or the rest of the season) to re-watch games, or parts...also cool to be able to see other games. I don't have NFL Network (friggin' Time Warner!), so it is invaluable in that regards. I don't use it as much as I imagined I would, but, for $40 a season, I feel like I get my value out of it. As for image quality, and buffering issues, the picture is pretty nice, better for some games than others. I don't ever recall having buffering issues that were so bad that I couldn't watch a game...occaisionally, last season, I had an issue where there was this strange sort of image changing effect, where at the very center of the screen, you could see, on a microscopic level, where the picture was changing to the next frame. It was a little distracting from time to time, but I kind of got used to it, to where I didn't notice it any more. I am not the most tech savy computer guy, so it may have just been an issue with my computer. I am not so sure...but you did say "technically". I tried to fight this way back, and the law says that an apartment complex (and neighborhood associations, I am guessing) has the right to legislate any areas that are considered a "common area", ie: areas that can be accessed, or seen, by neighbors. At the time, I really wanted to fight it, cuz I wanted that damn NFL Ticket. While I never went so far as to hire a lawyer, or file a lawsuit against my apartment (it wasn't worth it), I was advised by my late brother in-law, a lawyer, that I likely wouldn't be successful in pursuing something like that, the way the law was worded. The apartment complex can define what a "common area" is. Now, this was way back in the late 90's, so, when satalites were not as common. It is possible that apartments may have backed off on this a bit since then...but for me, anyways, I kind of look forward to my trips to the bar every Sunday. See above! ^ Did you sign up for this, via the NFL Rewind site? I go to that site now, and it says it is not currently available.

Bills entire team MAdden 12 ratings released
Buftex replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I always loved Madden, I buy it every year, even though I play it less and less...I have to ask, I got the game for PS3 the last two seasons, and as impressive as it looks, it is just not as fun to play as the older versions...is it me just getting old, or has anyone else experienced the same feelings? I played 2011 about 4 or 5 times, and never even started a season, let alone a franchise...in my "prime" I probably played at least one, if not two, games a day, almost every day...sadly, Madden, and the occaisional hockey or basketball game are the only games I ever play. So, needless to say, the PS3 is pretty much just an expensive blu-ray player for me. Is the NCAA game better than Madden? I realize the newest Madden isn't out yet... -
Do you know if the pre-season live thing archives the games, or is your only option to watch them live? I was looking for this, but had no luck...I remember hearing about it last year, or the year before...but, with justin Tv, etc, it didn't seem necessary at the time...but would love to be able to see the pre-season games...call me a geek!
-
Not quite the same, but a cheaper alternative is to sign up for "NFL Rewind"...you can watch all games on-line, but you can't watch them live. If you buy it now it is 39.95 for the season. Cool thing is, during the season, you can go back and watch any game from that season. I will admit, I got it the last few years, and don't use it as much as I thought I might, but, it is invaluable the one or two weeks of the season where I have to work on Sunday...I can avoid scores while at work, and come home and watch the game, on-line, later that evening. I have to work out at the Austin City Limits festival the Sunday we play the Raiders...so I will be up late watching on-line.

Starting to look like an NFL front 7

The way I see it, a lot of Haynesworth issues were with the coach, and they started almost from day one. He never had those issues in Tennessee...and for all BB's bluster, he is a players coach, I think...if BB handles Haynesworth a 300+ d-linemen the right way, I think Haynesworth might be the steal of the FA period... -
