Have you ever had sex with Rick Perry?
Buftex replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Not related to anything you posted, but I found this too funny not to find somewhere to wedge it in: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/23/rick-perry-struggles-to-a_n_934172.html btw- I always wanted Hillary! -
Completely agree...loved Travis Henry, on the field...love Jackson too, but Henry was just all heart when he played...and, like Freddie, never really appreciated by the Bills...but I think with Travis, the Bills knew of his off-the field stuff, long before we did, so they cut their losses, before it affected them... Don't even know what to make of any of this any more...but why can't we ever feel just a little bit good about the Bills, going into the season? I am not off the Gailey bandwagon, yet...but I do succinctly remember, when he coached the Cowboys, most of the vets hated him...Aikman in particular. I weep for this team... And then, I T-Pegs please save this wayward ship...

I see your Bam on Rob's House point, and raise you a BAM!
-
Exactly...if speed automatically made players superior, the Raiders would dominate year in year out...and this isn't a slight toward Spiller, I want to see him shine...but why not throw Jackson a bone...ego is a big part of this game.
-
Love the new uniform. I like it more than the throwbacks of recent years, because of the helmet...white, charging buffalo is the best...could live without the widening stripe on the back, but hey, its' the Bills, you can't like everything. Now, lets' just get a team that plays as well as the uniforms look...btw..I think I will like the new home uni's even more!

Careful...you are treading on thin ice. There is a growing legion of Bills fans who seem to be bigger fans of the Bills making thrifty, cost-cutting moves, than they are of watching a good football team. If you don't see things their way, you are not "true fan" and should just go away..after all, we should be happy to have a team, period.

Sometimes I get the feeling this organization is so used to being in rebuilding mode, they just can't stop tinkering and messing with things...I have to say, trading Evans made me really wonder about this team, and now, the alienation that seems to be going on with Jackson, is really starting to make me have a hard time liking this team. It's almost as if they are acting like Jackson is only good because he is cheap...he is the best running back this team has had in a decade, a good guy, and a respected team leader...why can't they placate him? I understand, Spiller needs his time...they invested a lot in him...but let him earn it, damn it!

Is anyone watching 50 Documentaries to See Before You Die?
Buftex replied to Pete's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It is funny, I think, reading the comments on the linked page, and here, how political everything is...it seems that many who are slanted right have no use for documentaries... That said, I think "Crumb", "Standing in the Shadow of Motown" and "Roger & Me" are terrific films. -
NBA player applies for job at Home Depot

I like D-West...troubled kid, !@#$ed up upbringing, trying to change course. Growing up in public isn't the easiest thing, I would imagine. -
I think Steve Johnson is in for a long season...
-
I see your point, and I agree...but what hurts a little more about McCargo, we traded up to get him! He was pretty much a non-factor during his whole 5 year tenure on the team...I don't even remember seeing him play enough to realize that he sucked based on his play alone..he was just perpetually a scratch...that is bad.
-
The guy I am most surprised that hasn't caught on anywhere is Josh Reed. He wasn't great, but, he defined the term "decent receiver" to me...once he failed to make the Chargers squad last year, nobody was interested. With all the injuries that every team suffers at the position, you would think he would have found a home somewhere. I always thought he was the kid of player that the Patriots would have made into a household name... Wathced a little bit of the Raiders/49ers game last night...Trent threw one of the worst interceptions I can remember ever seeing him throw...ugly. Not all that much pressure, and he tried to heave it over double coverage, along the left sideline to a guy that was so not open...meanwhile, he had a HB wide open in fron of him, who most likely would have picked up at least 8 yards or so...I wonder if he makes that team.
-
I don't think it really matters much, who is the starter, once you get a few games into the season...by then, whoever is having a better game will get more carries...the Bills invested heavily in Spiller...they have to do everything they can to make sure they get something out of him...Fred will get plenty of chances, IMO.

Lets get 2011 under way, before starting on 2012...besides, they are going to take Pryor tomorrow...I think!

I just started and finished watching Breaking Bad
Buftex replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Yeah, but don't forget, the love his family is what made Walt "break bad" in the first place. It seems like a long time ago now, but Walt Sr was a "goody two shoes" at one point too... -
I suspect Gailey would reconcile it with the players the same way he did it with the "Trent is our guy" and "it's Trent's team" rhetoric that he spewed last year, before cutting him.

Tebow is a very gifted athlete, obviously. Because it is not even certain what his best position would be in the NFL, I suspect the Bills would be willing to trade for him...the answer to all the Bills woes, it seems, is to stock-pile great athletes that don't necessarily play a position...just roll the ball out there, see what happens! Seriously, I have been saying it from the day they signed Thigpen, unless Fitz is spectacular out of the gate, Thigpen will be our entrenched starter by season's end. Gailey pretty much lays it all out there...when he criticizes a player, he is done with them. He hasn't gotten there with Fitz yet, but he seems to go out of his way to pat Thigpen on the back whenever he can...even after the first pre-season game, when he didn't look so good. According to ESPN, Colts not happy with their back-ups as replacements for Manning, should he miss some games to start the season...looking for some QB help...might Fitz be their guy? Don't seriously think we would pursue Tebow, but I won't be shocked if they draft Pryor. Word that he is willing to play something other than QB will, no doubt, make him more attractive to the the Bills.
-
It looks like "most scouts" overrated him too!
-
I have this strange feeling, unless Fitz really comes through in a big way, Chan already has a notion that Thigpen is our guy for the future. Just a hunch. It seems, when you listen to Gailey talks, he leaves a lot of info "in between the lines"...he hasn't said anything bad about Fitz, but he really seemed to talk up Thigpen after the game...like I said, just a hunch. I like Johnson, but unless somebody emerges from their roster of potential Hall Of Fame receivers, I think he is going to have a tough year...don't want to overreact to what happened tonight, but the offensive line looks awful, and none of the receivers did anything to make me think they are going to be the "next Steve Johnson"...I guess Nelson is the ordained new superstar on the team, but he still has a long way to go...I actually think Naamann Roosevelt might be the second best receiver on the team. Jackson, Willimas and Dareus? Don't want to jinx him, but he looks like he might be something!

Like I said in another thread, the kid doesn't bother me at all...I have an old friend, who I have worked with at two different jobs, who reminds me so much of him. He also has CP, looks a bit like the kid, and, is kind of naive for his age...he has a good sense of humor, likes to joke around a lot, but in a very innocent kind of way...he would never say anything off-color... I guess you would think he was a goody-two shoes...my friend is now in his late 40's, and honestly, is smart as anyone, but a little naive, and kind of child-like in some ways...I just take it as a kid who grew up with some physical problems, his parents kind of sheltered him a bit...I just don't find Walt Jr all that off... -
Listening on 97Rock...not bad...anyone have a working link to watch?
-
Thanks... and thanks!
-
Okay, I have looked, but I can't find any listing for which Buffalo area radio station is carrying the pre-season games. I know 97Rock carries regular season. Anyone know? Do they stream the games live? Only link I can find is for a Denver station...I can tolerate listening to a Bills pre-season radio broadcast, not so sure about a Broncos broadcast...pre-season is hard enough!

Unusual Sighting - photo finally arrived
Buftex replied to Coach55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, I actually saw, some time ago, some feature on him on one of the multiple obscure cable stations...maybe the History Channel? He is actually married, and his wife, IIRC is a bit of a freak too...who would have guessed? -

No disrespect, but I just realized you are a little dense.
