  1. I would say there has never been a group of better actors assembled for a tv show. Falco, Marchand, Dominic Chianese, Aida Turturo, Lorraine Bracco...all just steller...but for me, Michale Imperioli is the most underappreciated of the bunch. I think he was perfect in that role.
  2. Love this team, but we are just not in the same class as the Chiefs, just yet. It is a case of "pick your poisons" when playing the Chiefs. Not to say the coaching staff couldn't, or shouldn't have tried other things, but we just weren't beating that team last night. I agree completely on not going for it on 4th down, in the red-zone. If I recall, one of those situations came at the end of the first half, and the other on the first drive of the second. It was pretty clear, in the second quarter, the game was slipping away from the Bills...McDermott made great strides this season to get away from some of his "too conservative" leanings, but last night, he reverted to form. Trading TD's for field goals was not going to win that game. McDermott should have known that.
  3. I was actually kind of surprised that they are waiting two weeks to play the Super Bowl. I know 2 weeks is the tradition, but they have ignored that in other years. I think the longer there is between the championship games and the Super Bowl, the greater the chance that COVID becomes a factor.
  4. This is the one rock-n'roll anthem that always gets my blood going...
  5. For me it was the old music show "Night Flight", and then episodes of David Letterman's original daytime show. My family had the first VCR of anyone that we knew...I was the only one in my family (8 kids, 2 parents= 10) who could figure out how to program it to record. I remember my father setting his alarm to get up at all odd times of the night to get up and press "record" when a movie he wanted to watch would come on. Then he would just stumble back to bed. I tried showing him...and my siblings. They just didn't get it...it was my super-power for a year or two!
  6. I probably wouldn't want to watch it right now...but when it originally aired, I thought it just recaptured that whole magical 4 year run (really a 6 year run for me) beautifully. I got over the fact that they didn't win any SB's a long time ago. It was just an amazing time to be a Bills fan. This season is much the same...and it just came out of "nowhere" in some ways. I knew we had a good team to cheer on...but they have far exceeded my hopes and expectations.
  7. My mistake. I heard it referred to, on the radio, as Montana's last game, and assumed it was true. But you are correct. Yeah, I understand, everyone is not fond of reminiscing. That is legit. But I am always a sentimental old fool, when it comes to the Bills. It is all one long story.
  8. If anyone is interested: The NFL Network will air the 1993 AFC Championship game between the Chiefs and Bills, today (Friday- 1/22) at 3pm eastern. Not only is it the last AFC Championship game the Bills were in, it was one of Thurman Thomas' finest games. Some good time-killing content, before Sunday! Also, the excellent "Four Falls of Buffalo" will air at 1am (Saturday 1/24).
  9. Yes, Schragers' "love" of the Bills is less than authentic. I think it is the same with a lot of these media guys. I have heard a few opine (Shcrager included) that Bills fans are a tad sensitive to criticism of their team, more so than most fan bases. They always make "jokes" about not wanting Bills fans to "come after them" or "blow-up" their twitter feeds. I think he probably has a legit fear. Ultimately, who cares? Who cares what these people think? Sure, it is fun to hear football discussion, but what any of them think about our chances of winning is irrelevant to what happens on the field.
  10. I was never a fan....but good luck to him.
  11. Honestly, the "we don't get any respect", or "enough credit" thing is nearly annoying as what it is calling out. There may be a kernal of truth to it at times...but stay humble, as Mc Dermot preaches. This incessant need to immediately analyze and quantify the quality of a victory or performance, or player...or to rank things historically or contemporarily is really a bad thing that is happening to sports.
  12. Sure, it might have been more satifying to beat them 51-3, but that was an intensely entertaining football game, in my book. Defense played their asses off, beat a team they weren't supposed to beat, and the offense did what it had to. They opening TD in the second half was incredible...not only netted them a TD, but took a lot of time off the clock. It was reminiscent of the Steelers game earlier this year. This wasn't the Jets or Jaguars we were playing...
  13. Did you know that Joe Paterno wanted Jim Kelly to play linebacker at Penn State?
  14. Never seen her speak about Gabe Davis that I recall...but she has a kind of crazy vibe, in general!
  15. Maybe so, but if, say, we still had Tyrod at QB, I am not sure they would have paid the price they did for Diggs...more likely they would used the draft picks they traded for him, to get a potential "stud". They wanted somebody who was proven at the NFL level, because they had the notion that Josh was ready to take that next step, and didn't want a limited receiving corp to be the thing that held him back. Beane pretty much said as much. They loved what they got from Brown and Beasley, but knew they needed that other guy.
  16. No big whoop! The Bills were the national darlings until Saturday....now it is the Browns and the Ravens. Who cares?
  17. But, they traded for Diggs, because they had a pretty good idea that they had a good young QB who needed WR help. If they didn't have Allen, they weren't giving up what they did for Diggs.
  18. As I recall, our defense played pretty damn good...but our offense couldn't score points.
  19. Easy to take shots at Kiper, but McShay is nothing but a Kiper wanna-be. Can't stand McShay.
  20. Good to know...but it is one of the few things I still really worry about with him. Everytime he runs, I find my eyes focusing on his hands and the ball, and yelling "hold on to it, hold on to it". It just happens, involuntarily.
