I've been to close to 130-150 games home and on the road...never tallied W's vs L's...i suspect I wouldn't be too happy if I did. I started going to games in 1973, had season tickets from 1980-87 (great timing to give them up then ). Once I moved away from WNY, I made it back for a game or two almost every year, as well as a quite a few road games. I have to say, the game I went to that made me put a pause on going to road games, was a game in Dallas, 2011. I have lived in Austin since 1991, and have always gone to any game the Bills played in the state, or nearby, like New Orleans. For that 2011 game, a Sunday noon game (TX time) a handful of my friends drove to Dallas on Friday morning and made a weekend of it. Unfortunately, I couldn't join them on Friday, as I had a commitment (17 hour work day) I couldn't get out of on Saturday. The plan was, I would get a few hours of sleep, and then take a bus from Austin to Dallas for the game. I would meet my buddies at their tailgate. I would drive back with them on Monday morning. As luck had it, the bus broke down on the way there. My original plan had me getting to the game around 10 am...instead, I got there around 10 minutes before kickoff. My friends were already inside by the time I got there. I was already kinda wiped out, then trudging through that monstrous stadium to find my seat. I finally sat down about 3 minutes into the game...when my ass touched the seat, literally right then, Tony Romo hit Dez Bryant for an 80 yard touchdown pass. And it went that way the rest of the game...Bills lost 44-7, and were not even in the game for a minute. It was a total dismantling. It was one of the shittiest games I had ever been to. Perhaps, because it was Dallas, and I walked, daily, among brain-dead Cowboys fans. Perhaps, too, I was still stinging from a trip to NYC I had taken a few weeks earlier to see the Bills at the Meadowlands, collapse against the Giants. It just made me think "I just can't justify wasting the time, money and emotional muscle it takes to do this a whole lot more" Of course, second to last game of the season, I went to the Christmas Eve matchup against Tebow/Broncos...the Bills destroyed them...it all felt justified for a few hours. But that 2011 season really made me re-assess things. I've been to games since, but not at the pace I used to keep. Watching at a bar, or from the comfort of home is kinda nice too.

Very embarrassing...I love the Bills, and I think we have great fans...but like every single fan base in every sport, there are always #######s...people are #######s in general...Bills Mafia (God I hate that nickname...talk about embarrassing!) is no worse than any other. I've been to more games in Buffalo than elsewhere...but I have been to about half the stadiums in the leauge. I've seen ***** fans in all those towns...our culture encourages it.It's everywhere.

I assume you have never been a manager of people? -
Yeah...the crushing defeat is bad enough...but there is that realization that football season (my favorite season) is over...but trust me, I'd still rather feel this than the feelings we all had from 2000-2016. Love the whole routine of the football season...winning or losing, I want it to to keep going. At the two minute warning yesterday, I was so sure we were going to Baltimore...then it just comes to a halting end a few minutes later. You get over it, of course...you have to. But this one will sting for a few more days...this coming Sunday will feel weird.

To be honest, as well as intended as it is, I hate when people who don't really care, or truly "know" how it feels try to console me. I was/am fairly depressed about the end of another season...I just assume not hear things like "at least they got there", or "they played really good"...I wish to Christ I had just called in sick to work today...because honestly, it's about as sick as I've felt in a while...of course I'll be back at draft time...schedule release...meaningless pre-season games...but right now I just want to feel bad, and get it out of my system. I've been a fan since I went to my first Bills game in 1973. I'm not stopping now...but, *****, it sucks sometimes!

Leonard Floyd as well...though I was referring more specifically to tonights game. I actually felt really good for Harty. He looked so genuinely happy on the sideline...like relieved that he was finally able to contribute to a huge win.
-
So, kind of fitting: Trent Sherfield, Deonte Harty and Taylor Rapp, three of Beane's off-season FA signings were all viewed as being kinda underwhelming...but all three played a major role in stealing the #2 seed from Miami. And the much-maligned Sean McDermotts defense was amazing down the stretch. Nicely done gentlemen!

Bills-Dolphins Week 18 for the Division! SUNDAY NIGHT GAME
Buftex replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think you mean Colts/Texans...winner is in, loser is out -
No...if there is any seeding advantage in week 18, you play to win the Dolphins game.
-
If you have NFL+ you can listen to the entire radio broadcast (from either team market)....not just highlights, but the whole game
-
That was the biggest takeaway for me too...also, for some reason, I thought Kincaid was one of those "super-Christy" kind of guys who would never curse! Not so much, as it turns out...

The Bengals looked about as good as any team I've seen this year. Bills have their work cut out for them. 49ers got a little pressure early, but when they did, Burrow made them pay.

Honestly, I can remember in previous seasons people here complaining about Josh not interacting with teammates on the sideline enough, during games...possibly the same people who wanted Daboll fired every other week, who now think he was the greatest thing. I know many don't pay attention much to the halftime commentary from the studio hosts, and I usually don't either. But for some reason, yesterday, I caught most of it. One thing that stuck out to me, was Bill Cowher saying something to the effect of "the Bills problem on offense, is they are trying to change too many things all at once, which is causing them to be out of synch" or something along those lines. He seemed to think they would figure things out. Fingers crossed that he is right.

Nico is a great target...the Texans appear to have struck gold in the draft with Stroud and Nico. That is the core of their rebuilding. There is no logical reason for them to trade Nico to us...

As we all hate on Ken Dorsey today let’s remember

My biggest complaint about the offense, we don't seem to have any real in-game flexibility. We come in and do what we do, and more often than not, it works. But, when it doesn't work, it is so frustrating. There is no real shame in losing to Jacksonville yesterday. They are a very talented, well coached team, who was kind of finding their sea-legs the first few weeks of the season. They may have had some logistical benefits, only further enhanced with our seemingly endless injury problems during the game. All that going against us, I really think (like last time we lost to the Jags) we were only 1 play away, most of the game, from breaking it open. We could have left London with an ugly win, but it seems sometimes, the Bills are too slow to recognize on offense, what isn't working. Though they didn't run the ball a whole lot yesterday (and let's face it, it wasn't working) they still did it a few times, very late, when the clock was becoming a factor. A frustrating loss, to be sure...but not the end of the world. Losing Milano is a lot more damaging than the loss is. Dorsey calls a good game most of the time, but his inexperience may be showing a little against some of the better defenses. I know, walking the fine line with Josh (when and when not to "ball out") is a factor....I wish they had let him be a little more aggressive earlier in the game. Even the opening drive of the second half. You have all these new role players in the offense, use them! -
On the post-game show they said he played 18 snaps, fwiw. This thread reminds me of why I come here less and less over the years. People act as though they have never watched football before and have no idea what the ***** they are talking about, far more often than not. Last week McDermott had his "greatest win", his "signature win...this week he deserves to be fired. Get a grip "Bills mafia"! Today's loss was depressing, even if it isn't that huge of an upset, or that unfathomable. More than the L in the standings, losing Milano for the year is far more significant.

He's a giant douche, but I would have probably taken a chance on Wentz if I were them. I think Ryan is done...he looked truly awful his last two seasons -
Serious topic: it’s time to trade for DJ Moore

I am not a Maddy Glab fan-boy, by any stretch. I find her hard to listen to, for an entire radio show. I say this, because after hearing her off and on over the last 4 years or so, I found her apology/excuse completely plausible. When I first heard the audio, it wasn't identified who the reporter was (it was from a national source), but I recognized her voice immediately. The way she said it, I really believe she was just trying to be funny, with a colleague. I can't even put into words this kind of humor, but I suspect we have all heard people talk like this, trying to be funny. I really didn't beleive that she meant what she said, literally. Her colleague was telling her that she should get an interview with Diggs (the most newsworthy Bill as of late) and she is telling her, in a funny way, that she wouldn't, because she doesn't have that kind of access to Diggs. Nobody does. It's like saying. "I'm going to ask my parents for $10,000 so I can by a guitar...my father will say "***** you, I'm not giving you money for a guitar" Even though I never heard my father use the F word, I say this to emphasize how opposed my father would be to this. The person I am relaying this to knows, my father didn't actually say "***** you" In other words, he speaks with the media, when he wants to...she (or other media members) don't go to him for interviews. She wasn't speaking to everyone, only one person...unfortunately for her, it got caught on an open mic, and everyone is makeing it into a bigger deal than it really should be. At the same time, I sympathize with Diggs indignation over the remarks. Because the world we live in now, it gives fuel to those who want to portray him as difficult. People like Florio are having an aneurysm, trying to drum up drama around Diggs. I do think Diggs is much more media savvy and aware of his image than many want to give him credit for. The national media types have been bending over backwards to paint a picture of him as being difficult, a cancer, a diva. etc etc. It would be a shame if this helped precipitate the Bills losing Diggs...and it would be sad if Glab lost her job...for this.

The only one who didn't embarrass themselves (tonight anyway) was Haley. What a hideous cast of characters.
