  1. I will be the first to admit, when I am watching games live, I am not always as observant, as I kind of get caught up in the emotion of the game...but when you rewatch later, knowing the outcome, you (or at least I) notice things I didn't pick up on at first glance. That said, I have also noticed that Donald Jones is not as bad as he was made out to be, during the season. You remember some big drops, but kind of forget about some of the nice catches...I am fully behind Fitzpatrick, so I don't mean this as a knock...but if he a little more accurate, his receivers are all that much more effective. Fitz kind of mentioned that in the PC he did after the OTA this week (posted on BB.COM)...when talking about his work with Lee, he says that he has always "just thrown the ball", and never has really had anyone coaching him on his mechanics...Fitz acknowledges, in the interview, there is a difference between throwing a completion and a well thrown pass. I wouldn't object to the Bills signing a vet free agent (if there was one actually worth signing) but I think, maybe, our WR group is better than they have shown, so far. Hagan and Jones have some tools...if Easley can stay healthy (big IF, I know) that could just add more talent to the pool.
  2. Celtics rebound from Game 2 disappointment, with a great showing at home...even though the Heat made a surge in the 4th qtr, I never had a feeling the Celtics were going to give up their lead. C's may lose, as JSP points out cuz of age and depth issues...but they will never lose because the other team has a mental edge over them...they always respond to a disappointing loss. The Heat looked old and tired tonight!
  3. We are hosting a "Vince Young Party" next Friday at my place of work...not sure if I will actually see VY, but I have before, and I will just say, there is always more to the story...I am rooting for the guy.
  4. Don't look now....but here we go again...guy disembowels himself, throws intestines at cops...guy eats another guys face...now this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/31/alexander-kinyua-kujoe-agyei-kodie-ate-brain-heart-roommate-maryland_n_1560149.html
  5. Derek Hagan really impressed me late in the season...and, after re-watching the Raiders game from earlier in the season, he wasn't too shabby as a Raider either...if you recall, he started that game against Buffalo, becasue they had a multitude of injuries to their starting receivers...he had a nice game...granted it was against the 2011 Bills defense. Hagan is my dark horse pleasent "surprise" player of the year, for the Bills. In the final 5 or 6 weeks of the season, he often looked, to me, like the most motivated player on the Bills offense...he wants to make a roster, and stick.
  6. I acknowledge that crayonz has been remarkably accurate with his "predictions"...I also acknowledge, if the Celtics don't win it all, it is all a croc of ****!
  7. You may be right, but keep in mind, bench players don't traditionally play as well on the road, during the playoffs, for whatever reason. Also, with Rondo taking as many shots as he did, playing the entire game, and making so many, it maked it harder for reserves to get chances. So, that is a little deceiving. Because Rondo was in such a zone, Garnett didn't get the type of shots that he is most effective at. Only so many possessions in a game. I am not enamroed with the Celtics bench, by any means, but I suspect, on Friday, they will make a better showing, in Boston. Also, not to belabor a point, but the Celtics substitution plan was blown out of the water, almost immediately, by over zealous officials. Greg Steisma, maybe the C's best bench player in the playoffs (in terms of consistence) was whistled 4 times in the games first 6 minutes. All the fouls were of the ticky-tacky (at best) to phantom variety. Rivers had planned on giving Garnett a little more rest early, but KG ended up playing longer than planned, because of Steisma's foul situation. I am not under the illusion that the Celtics are the better team, or even have a good chance of winning this series...but officiating played a much bigger role in the outcome of that game than it should have. But, that is the way it goes...C's have gotten lucky a few times over the years as well. Honestly, the Celtics have already made it father than I thought they would...I could say that for every year since they won it all, in 2008. I love the core of this team. Rondo grows every year, and gets better and better...if the result of the C's getting too old is that Rondo gets better, I can live with that. He has developed a jump shot the last 2 months, gotten better at the free-throw line. Having one of the top point guards in the leauge isn't a bad consolation prize!
  8. Actually Jack, if you look at the page you linked, it says that this is the schedule for the practices that are open to the public...I would be shocked of there were no morning practices or two-a-days. I suspect the morning practices are closed, afternoon practices open to the public.
  9. So, I was kind of shocked to see Peggy exit...didn't see that coming.
  10. Dude, that is not cool...you know he was exonerated in this case, and another guy was arrested for exposing himself a few weeks later, in the same neighborhood? Also, as I recall, he passed multiple polygraph tests.
  11. Actually, since I am not old enough to have seen him play, I will accept the notion that he is the greatest football player of all-time, because I have heard that all my life...that said, he could never be my favorite Cleveland Brown, because, IMO, he is kind of a self-righteous, pompous ass...and a wife beater/mysoginist to boot...gimmie Bernie Kosar or Ozzie Newsome!
  12. Nah, I am 1550 miles away, in Austin, TX. I have made the ride a few times by car...never again say my knees, back, and car!
  13. I thought that was the composition of PPP!
  14. Great way to celebrate Mick Jaggers 69th birthdaY! Seriously, I think I might try to make it up for training camp. The schedule makers were not kind to out of town Bills fans, like myself, who can normally only make it up for one game a season...no Thanksgivig or Christmas weekend games. Used to go to training camp when I was a kid, but hadn't been for many, many years...until the first practice of the 2007 season...it was awesome! I had a blast. Got my program autographed by the entire Bills rookie class (minus Marshawn who missed that first practice, as a last minute signing), as well as bunch of vets...Marv was perched up in the stands, looking on...it was really fun. Actually a bit more fun than some of the games I have gone to in the last decade!
  15. He is one of those whose musical influence is heard by everyone, even if they never heard of him... if rock 'n' roll is a hybrid of blues and country, his flat-picking style (along with Merle Travis) can be heard on all the old rockabilly classics that formed the back-bone of rock and roll...his sound is as distinctive as the "Bo Diddley beat"...it is so cliche (in a good way) that everyone knows the sound, but not necessarily where it started...the term "music legend" gets thrown around loosely...but Doc Watson is a legend.
  16. Dante, can you please provide a link where Obama criticized Romney about Donald Trump? Please? Or are you just making stuff up?
  17. Just thought of another...a buddy of mine wrote this...his brother recorded it. Beautiful song...when summer was endless... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfEyJum6--c
  18. McCauley is prolific...not every song is a maseterpiece, but when he nails it, he nails it. Not unlike a certain Mr Westerberg.
  19. Oh yeah, you are right...he visited San Diego first, then went to the Broncos!
  20. Because they are, as they say, "idiots".
  21. To all those who rip on Kelsay, let me ask: CK has been with the Bills since 2003. In that 9 years, when have you ever felt the Bills coaching staff (particularly on defense) knows what the hell they are doing? Kelsay, like most of his teammates, has been asked to play out of position for most of his career. Somewhere along the way, Kelsay's job (which he was painfully ill-equiped for) was to drop back into pass coverage...I really don't want a defense that asks D-line men to drop into pass coverage on a regular basis...it is a recipe for a defensive disaster. I blame poor schemes on this, as much as I do the players.
  22. RIP Doc! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/29/doc-watson-dead-dies_n_1554478.html
  23. Not for nothing, but unless something happened recently, Florence signed with the San Diego Chargers.
  24. I have to say, I am surprised that no team will look at Owens. I know he is old, but last we saw, he still had some game left in him...there has to be room, somewhere, for a humbled Terrell Owens. Doesn't there? btw- isn't he part owner of the Allen Wranglers?
  25. As I recall, the only thing memorable about the KC edition was Brody Croyle's attractive wife...come to think of it, isn't Tanneyhill's wife supposed to be "hot"? It could be interesting...the team is kind of a wreck, celebrity ownership group, and a rookie head coach whose son just died.
