NFL Game Rewind to include "Coaches Film"
Buftex replied to NoSaint's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't even know what Lion is...so I guess I am not on it! -
So, when all is said and done, it looks like Barry Bonds will be the only one to take the fall for the "steroid era" in MLB. Interesting.

I used to have season tickets for the Austin Wranglers...and indoor Arena Football team. You know what? The games were pretty entertaining, but I stopped going to afternoon games, because there were too many kids with those !@#$ing "thunder sticks"... I used to get migranes so bad, I would literally vomit... When I see NBA games broadcast from Orlando, Miami or OKC, as exciting as it is, all I can think about is how I would hate being in those arenas. Crowd noise, chanting is cool...but thunder sticks (they kind of make sense for OKC) are awful, and, sorry, but "white outs" look silly. The music thing doesn't bother me as much, to a point.

NFL Game Rewind to include "Coaches Film"

Okay, I am pretty computer illiterate, so take this with a grain of salt...but last season, I ordered re-wind, as I had been doing for about 3 years (since they started offering it)...it was the first time I had any issue. I kept getting a message that I needed to upgrade to the lastest version of Adobe Flash...when I tried to do that, I would get a message that Mac no longer supported Adobe Flash. I took the computer to the "genius bar" at my local Apple store, and was told the same thing. My mini is a few years old (2006 I think) so I suppose it is possible that it is just this particular version of the Mac mini. At the time, I went to a few different websites, trying to trouble-shoot, and there seemed to be a bit of griping about Mac not supporting Adobe Flash. It may just be me...but it was a real bummer. Would love to be able to access Rewind on my home computer...and honestly, I just can't afford a new computer right now. The age of the computer may be the problem. If anyone would care to enlighten me, I would love to find a way around this issue. -

I also have a Mac mini...from my understanding, as Mac no longer supports Adobe Flash, and NFL Rewind will only play with the latest version of Adobe Flash...what did you use to view? -

NFL Game Rewind to include "Coaches Film"

Seems like the price went up a bit this year. Will definitely get the pre-season package ($19.99), but the regular season package, IIRC, went up about $20. Still worth it, for most. I have been getting this every year since it was available...I used it a bit, but last year kind of sucked. I have a Mac at home, and you can't watch NFL Rewind on Mac! Very disappointing. -
Thanks... Acutally, I posted this thread before I got a chance to finish it...what I meant to ask, was there any particular websites that any of the serious FF players use as reference? Smart ass!

Bills to go from #26 on defense to top 3 in one year.
Buftex replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can't agree more. I find it hard to believe that the Bills have been so completlely talentless on defense for most of the past decade. Lack of talent may have been part of the issue, but coaches who don't have the ability to put their guys in the best position to play effectively, I think, has been a big part of it too. I dare say, I was almost as excited about Wannestedt coming on board as the DC (and a return to defensive scheme that has worked, and is relatively simple), as I was with the Bills signing Mario Williams. Only thing that scares me about Wannestadt is he is one firing away from being the Bills head coach, or one season away from another head coaching job. I hope things remain stable with this coaching staff for at least a few years. -

So you are right. My apologies to Dave In Elma. -

Yeah, I know...I was just getting into the spirit of throwing **** against the wall. That "blog" is just silly. I could argue that there is a an element of race in there, but I will refrain. But Dave In Elma's defense of this stupid allegory was that Bryce Harper is Mormon... the Mormon faith would present a weak case for arguing that someone is not racist. The church, while it was always behind the times on race issue, did allow blacks to become priests in 1978, but it has never officially stepped away from its' contention that darker skinned people are of inferior intellect, and that their dark skin is, somehow, a curse from god, bestowed upon them for taking a neutral stance in the battle between god and lucifer. I do not make this stuff up...it isn't some new series of fantasy books...this is one of the foundations of the Mormon church. This church is surrounded in as much secrecy as Scientology. That one attracts so many celebrities, so it is okay to write it off as a being a "cult". It isn't a lot crazier than Mormonism. -

Well, the mormon religion has some very racist tenets, so I can see your point. -
So, this forum doesn't seem very active. I realize we are about 6 weeks from NFL pre-season... what do you guys, who are serious FF players, do in the off-season to prepare for the upcoming season. I used to do very well in FF, but the last two years or so it has been a bit more of struggle. Last year, had my worst year ever. I only play in one league, occasionally two. The one I play in every year is for substantial cash prize ($1,000 to $1,150 normally), the other just to be polite. I want to get back in the winning groove...recommendations?

The documentary is really good, however. Just an interesting look into all these rivals coming together, and the battle of egos that went on...Jordan won! Since this started out as a Knicks/Nets/New York thread, interesting to hear Phil Jackson's take on the Knicks: http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_/id/8058726/phil-jackson-says-coach-clumsy-new-york-knicks-team

NBA channel is runnig a "Dream Team" special, celebrating the 20th anniversary of that team. You should catch it if you get a chance...they are rerunnig it endlessly (tonight in fact!) This is one of those stories that kind of morphed into many different things over the years: http://msn.foxsports.com/olympics/basketball/story/NBA-documentary-tells-true-story-of-1992-dream-team-and-Isiah-Thomas-exclusion For me, the Dream Team was a cool thing on paper, but it wasn't really all that fun to watch. It was a great exercise in marketingm but not so entertaining. The documentary is better than those games were.

If president Obama had a son, he might look like Trayvon Martin! -
All very Disney-esque style. Can't say I think any of them are better than what already exists. Way too detailed to be practical as team logos.

I agree with this post, almost 100%

Okay, I am not sure what you define as a "shitfest', but when I see posts like this, from smart people it makes me realize, more than ever, there are two different realities out there. I suspect I don't get my news from the places that you do...but I read about this stuff every day....every single day...if you aren't seeing it, and apparently you want to, then you aren't looking...

Not a chance.

Sage...will read the entire article when I have a few more minutes...but the question of Don Draper being a "good guy" or "bad guy" is yes and yes. The whole Ayn Rand philosophy of "dual truths" and objective moralism run strong through show.
