  1. I haven't paid a lot of attention, but I have seen references to the Pegulas selling the Sabres... I don't give it much credence. Not sure if it is just some Sabres fans wishful thinking...
  2. I love Nikki's whistle solo!
  3. Honestly, I don't want him (though I will learn to deal with it, should it happen), because when the Bills win the Super Bowl next year, I don't want it marred by Patriot bull####.
  4. So, is the red helmet thing official...or just speculation of hopeful fans? Personally, I think their current helmet/uniform is the best...but it might be fun to see the red helmets here and there. But, they really are kinda ugly.
  5. I'd be interested in Chase Edmonds
  6. It was a great game, wildly entertaining. The good guys don't always win.
  7. Jeez...why all the hate for Bill Simmons and the Ringer...have you heard his comments on Josh Allen and the Bills?
  8. I think she has disdain for the whole "Bills mafia" phenomenon.
  9. Who cares what Peter Schrager thinks? Seriously.
  10. I am not opposed to gambling, I have bet on a few sports in my day, and I love playing Fantasy Football (which basically keeps me in touch with teams other than the Bills), but I have to say, the NFL embracing gambling is something that could turn me off from watching non-Bills games altogether. As an avid Fantasy Football player, I hate the constant barrage of fantasy football stats...and I really hate that sports talk radio en masse, is basically transforming itself into one of those degenerate gamblers shows you would normally here early Saturday or Sunday morning. I do think it has the potential to turn a lot of people off.
  11. I guess I concur with most here...I count 2021 season as my 49th season of Bills fanatcism...it started when I was 7. I've missed one Bills game since 1983. I've seen more bad football than good, but my love for the Bills hasn't diminished. My love for the league has, however... I normally watch as much football as I possibly can. I will at least tune in for part of every nationally televised game, and watch two games on Sunday afternoon...we are talking about 5 games a week. I have to confess though, as great as so many of the games are now, it just doesn't get me going like it used to. I still feel that adrenaline rush during Bills games, but sometimes I almost just have the other games on as background chatter. I am not giving them my full attention like I used to. We are in this era of almost un-paralleled QB play...more game than ever go down to the wire, down to the last play...but I am sort of numb to it. Maybe just the old guy in me, but I can't just accept the fact that after decades, all of the sudden, the QB's are so much better...I realize they are more athletic than ever...but to me it seems almost that the rules have just changed so much, defense is barely a factor in the games anymore. It's almost like the games aren't inherently great, their greatness has been sort of manufactured. I've mentioned it in other posts, but one of my best friends is a huge Bears fan. We normally get together to watch whenever either of our teams are in prime-time, or playoff games. All this past season, I kept mentioning the Bills #1 defense...when we watched the Chiefs playoff game a graphic came up showing how dominant the Bills defense had been all season....he said to me, something like "all year, you kept saying the Bills had one of the top defenses, I thought you were just exaggerating...every time I see them play, I am always amazed by how many big plays they give up". He is right...being the #1 defense in the NFL in 2021 is a far cry from what it meant in 1985, or even 2000. Like everything, the game has changed so much.
  12. After Wade Phillips, I think Mularkey was the second best of the Bills "drought era" head coaches. That isn't saying much, I realize...😀
  13. A guy who made his mark as an assistant as a defensive coach is not likely to hire someone like Schwartz, who runs a much different kind of defense. Like it or not, we have a defensive coordinator in place, who has had a top 10 defense as long as he has been here. He must be doing something right...even if he isn't doing everything right. In the end, the defensive collapse is on McDermott.
  14. Do you have any source for this, other than your memory? If he were alive today, it may be news to Ted.
  15. I love revisionist history! Can we go back and fire Marv?
  16. Personally, I think this is another disaster for the Jags.
  17. I agree with you, pretty much. The only real ramifications it could have, for our team, is if the fracture, or conflict between McDermott and Daboll was big enough that players take sides. We've already seen guys like Diggs express how sorry they are to see Daboll go...and if you listened to the Isaiah McKenzie interview, it almost sounds like Daboll went above and beyond to be friends with the players. Ultimately, I think that could hurt him in the head coaching position in New Jersey, but I don't think any of this necessarily hurts the Bills. I would have been happy to have Daboll back as the OC, provided everyone was playing nice together...but I am not panicking over him leaving. In this day and age, especially, the QB makes the OC as much as the other way around. Not saying Daboll doesn't deserve credit for bringing Allen along nicely, but he has arrived. We are okay!
  18. I believe it only applies to Head Coaching positions, and as of the 2020 off-season, co-ordinators
  19. I have been having this conversation with my friend for what seems like 10 years (though really only started when these awful commercials started airing), what exactly is the concept behind these commercials? I mean, Kate McKinnon is hilarious on SNL...but I just don't understand this ad campaign. After seeing them about 2,000 times, I realize they are for 5G, but whatever comic idea is at work in this campaign, I just don't get it at all. It's like 5G just said, "we got some money, get us a big celebrity...throw them in front of the camera, and let them go". So, poor Kate, all she can come up with is walking like Jimmy Cagney and "jazz hand" yelling... and I don't just mean the commercials aren't funny (most aren't) but I don't even detect the thread of any comedic notion in them. Just annoying... not far behind are the Rodgers and Mahomes ads. Stupid, not funny, but at least you understand what they are attempting... I don't blame Kate McKinnon, a paycheck is a paycheck...but jeezus! Oddly, though I am not a Baker Mayfield fan at all, he has some comic chops at least...a better ad man than a QB? Dean Winters is awesome...though they may have been going on for too long.
  20. To me, Beasley is the most obvious pick here. He may have had a down year, but he also didn't have as many opportunities this year. In 2020, I think Beasley played a big role in making Allen a better QB. He has great hands, knows Daboll/Dorseys' ways, and is pretty damn reliable. A struggling QB's best friend... the Bills could trade him to the Giants for a 6th rounder... it would not only give them an extra pick, but it would save them some much needed cap room. Personally, I would take that savings and bring McKenzie back...but he and McDermott seem to have some issues, so who knows how likely that is to happen.
  21. But, because of all the ways you say the game is different, our window can stay open a bit longer.
  22. Agreed. I watched the Divisional round playoff game with a friend of mine...he is not a die-hard Bills fan (his team is the Bear..s), but pulls for them, because of me. A few times during the season I referred to the Bills having one of the best defenses in the league... he never said much. During the game this past Sunday, they showed a graphic which illustrated that the Bills had, indeed, the #1 defense in the league...by any statistical measure. He turned to me and said "all this time, when you were saying the Bills have the #1 defense, I thought you were just being a fan. It seems like every-time I have seen a Bills game this year, the number of big runs they give up always stands out to me...I would never guess they were a top defense in the league, from watching them". Now, he mainly saw only the prime-time games, and the playoff games, where the Bills were playing the better teams in the league...but his point was taken. As much as I love our defense, the number 1 defense in 2022 is a far cry from the #1 defenses of 20 years ago. The game has just changed so much. QB's on lousy teams still easily put up 300 yards on a fairly regular basis.
