Bills trade 7th rnd pick for backup Case Keenum
Buftex replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jake Fromm is available...he got a few starts in New Jersey last season...he looked awful, granted. -
I wonder if she'll go to the prom with me...today when I passed her in the hall, between social studies class and chemistry, she kinda glanced my way, but didn't make direct eye contact.. i just don't know what to make of it...does she like me? No, why would she? I mean I'm cool and all, and I would treat her like the goddess she deserves to be treated as...but she doesn't know that... how could she?

Cutting Star Lotulelei- why not ask him to retire?
Buftex replied to Commish's topic in The Stadium Wall
Lotulelei and Jordan Phillips are very good friends, and played great together in Phillips one season in Buffalo. Perhaps they can reach that level again this year? I realize that Star has had some availability issues, but I do think the defense was better when he was in the lineup. This just seems like one of those dead horses that fans always seem to have on hand... if McDermott/Beane feel like his time should come to an end in Buffalo, they will make it happen. Otherwise, why sweat it? -
Beane might have to break into the Beasley bucks!

Yeah. All the back and forth stuff on twitter probably didn't help. I think he took everything very personally. When he commented publicly, about Bills fans "supposedly the best in the leauge" booing him early in the season, it felt like things changed. I was at some of those early games, and I think, by and large, the fans loved Beasley...if people were booing him, it wasn't a large contingent. But, the ego can be fragile...the voice of small handful of critics was much louder, for him, than the thousands of supportive voices. Too bad...great player.

That's what I am thinking...he may find out that nobody is going to offer him a lot more than what the Bills would. He may have lost some speed...hard to tell really. His opportunities weren't as plentiful week in week out in 2021. Guy still had great hands...clutch 3rd down receiver. That isn't something that is so easy to replace.

Happy St Patrick's Day all!

Cole Beasley given permission to seek trade
Buftex replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Receivers with great hands, should always make sense. I'd take him back at the right price. Of course, we are a long way away from having the 2022 roster set, but to me, Beasley still has some value to the Bills, as it stands now. -
That is a tough call....I am on record (I know everyone is keeping track) as saying that the Dick Jauron years were my least favorite years of Bills football..not necessarily their worst, but I hated Jauron as head coach. Boring, scared football... I knew Rex was an awful hire, and was not happy when they hired him...but I will admit, I fell for the hype just a little that first year... so glad we are past all that!

He's not a bad blocker... his hands have improved...he was progressing nicely, until Arians took over.

Buffalo Bills are reportedly interested in DE Chandler Jones
Buftex replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
Or maybe Baker Mayfield? -
It seems that people who think this is a terrible signing are under the impression that the Bills intend to use McKissic as their #1 running back...forgetting that their preference has always been to have two guys that they could use interchangeably...they tried that for 2 years, before pretty much giving up on Moss late last season... McKissic is just taking over the roll that Moss was supposed to play, but he just happens to be an exceptional receiver out of the backfield, with some speed. And, he is coming pretty cheap. I think people are looking at his career rushing stats, thinking that he must be terrible, because he only has 950 yards in 7 years...ignoring what he did as a receiver, and the fact that he barely played his first four seasons. Personally, I think this is a really great signing.

Just seeing the Shula name associated with the Bills is kind of unsettling for some of us old-timers...

Obviously, they can't sign every player that they are rumored to be interested in...but I will actually be surprised if they don't make some sort of "big" acquisition. Every year we hear about teams being up against the cap, and every year we wonder how teams that are supposed to be so cap strapped, manage to sign big handfuls of free agents. I know Beane/McDermott will play it smart, and responsibly, but they will find a way to make cap space. Extend/re-work contracts for guys who you expect to be around another 3 or 4 years...DIggs, Poyer, Morse...Josh? They all want to get paid, but they all want to win too. Sure, this kind of cap management can lead to headaches down the road, but the Bills "window", while not closed, is not as open as it used to be. The AFC West could easily have 3 or 4 teams in the playoffs...if DeShaun Watson ends up in Pittsburgh or with the Jets (it's a rumor) the field only gets stronger....the Bills have to build for a run in 2022. Allen will keep them relevant for the next decade, but they may never have a chance to have as strong a roster....I expect a bold move or two...Gronk and Hunter? Gronk and Jones?

Tibs...you have been hanging out with the PPP dregs for years, you can't be too shocked.

Kalil Mack or Saquon Barkley come to mind. Both of their respective teams are in build for the future mode...both guys are wasting away on bad teams...I realize, Barkley is a huge injury risk...I wouldn't be thrilled with them spending that money...but Mack, I am open to. Just have to see what ripple it would have on the rest of the salary cap. When a team really wants something, cap woes be damned, they usually find a way to make it happen

IF WE ONLY HAD A LEADER LIKE ZELENSKYY
Buftex replied to Irv's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
He didn't have to attack anyone when Lumpy was in office... they were both banking on him stealing the 2020 election. -
I don't think she said that... she said there is not a huge percentage of fans who have season tickets for both teams. Honestly, who would buy Sabres season tickets right now? You are making it sound different than what she said. A "big splash" would be trading for Kahlil Mack, who is believed to be on the trade market...or, I suppose, signing Gronkowski?
