What does any of this have to do with politics other than the fact he raised money for the GOP? Are you saying that because he became homeless he has to be a Democrat (or Leftist like yourself)? He should be thankful for Christian organizations like the Salvation Army for helping to feed him during his tough times. These are the type of organizations the Devil (GW) advocated using federal funds to assist. I think many people (speaking for self-me) perceive most of the homeless as mentally troubled or drug abusers. Some are homeless by choice. Clearly, this guy had mental issues (he tried to commit suicide) which may have led to his becoming homeless. Please do not be so arrogant to believe that Christian conservatives such as myself do not empathize with people in those situations. I don't have the time nor desire to list for you the community service activities my family and I do for those in need in my community through our church. BTW- If anyone knows where I can find one of those 1960 Cougars, please let me know so I can purchase it. I'm sure they're worth a lot of money...

I believe that stereotypes are a human defense mechanism that allow us to take mental shortcuts in the absence information. They will never be eliminated. We all have them. I think the whole racism argument is bunk. Certainly there is racism in the US. Only a fool would deny it. What is debatable is the degree to which we should assign importance to it or should use it for a crutch or excuse for our lack of success in life. Hagee that his Marines MURDERED IRAQI CIVILLIANS. Gen. Hagee briefed him on an an investigation into the possibility that civilians were murdered. See the difference? That Murtha used the briefing for his political gain (the wat he characterized the suspected Marines) is what I find disgusting.

You're exactly right. Part of training I received in the Marine Corps is to get pepper sprayed and fight through it. I'm quite sure law enforcement officials receive the same training. I must say it was one of the most unpleasant days of my 40 years of living. For AJ Zep's benefit, law enforcement officers are trained in the escalation of force. Non-lethal measures have become more available of the last 10-15 years. As opined above, they do not always subdue a subject. Drugs such as PCP and Meth can allow suspects to overcome non-lethal methods. Please keep in mind, we do not pay Police Officers to get injured. Many think that the cops should fight a suspect and put their life in further jeapordy. The fact is once a suspect refuses to comply with police orders the officers are then left with few choices. Grapling with a suspect is one of the least favorable options and quite frankly, if you were in that situation and had a gun, would you fight the person or shoot the person when you felt your life is in jeapordy? Many of us also instinctively see the good in all people. In fact the are people in this world who have the instincts of animals and only marginally qualify as human beings because of their DNA. There are some seriously BAD people in this world and the Police are the people who we hire to deal with them. This is often spun for sympathy by family members after some animal is shot down by the police as "He was a father" (So he donated sperm to some woman), or he was just misunderstood...blah, blah, blah. I think you know what I mean.

Or the near peace accord brokered by your boy Slick Willy that Arafat walked away from when he was given nearly everything he sought for the Palestinians? Racism in the US is big business-for the Democrats and the Left- and will never go away. If the Left let it go away they would lose one of their party's main platforms for dividing and pandering. Cockroaches like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton who, by the way, are major players in the Democrat Party, have made tens and hundreds of millions off of others fears. In the past when someone who was African American ascended to a high position (such as Condi Rice) many on the Left refused to acknowledge her accomplishment and celebrate it with some going as far as referring to her as "Bush's House !@#$". The fact that a black man has been nominated to run for the most powerful position on earth demonstrates to me you can be whomever you want to be with a few breaks and an ample amount of brains, regardless of what you look like or the color of your skin. I'm sure the hate merchants will find a way to discount this in their marketing efforts of how Whitey is still keeping the black man down though. On somewhat related note, I think now is the time to completely abolish ALL affirmative action programs since it has been demonstrated that blacks can ascend to any position in this country that they want to. Not to beat the dead horse, but if you post something like this, generally people will call you (or me) out if your postings aren't consistent. Anyway, no harm, no foul. FWIW- I also am a hunter. I don't buy any red meat throughout the year until after I run out of venison. It's much healthier than beef and I think it tastes better. It also is a naturally occurring, managed resource. If you live in Buffalo you know there is no shortage of deer. People will find out one of these days that their meat doesn't magically show up on a styrofoam plate. And if fuel prices keep rising at the rate they have been, that time is coming sooner than later...

No worries...It comes naturally. While I may not know you personally, I know you through your postings, which can say a lot about a person. I don't care if you smoke weed. I drink beer and wine. I just don't feel the need to post a big bottle of Jack Daniels or Budweiser in my avatar and then tell everyone "I'm not an alcoholic."
