What is our Federal Gov't doing about this? Nothing... Freaking disgusting. http://washingtontimes.com/news/2008/aug/0...-guns-to-agent/ At least the news made it out of Texas. Hopefully this won't get buried in all the 'tire inflation issue' chatter.

Wow, La Molsen disappeared fast! Mom must've shipped him off to summer camp for a week or two. I was enjoying the train wreck and now it's over... -

Forbes: Buffalo among 'fastest-dying' cities in US
SD Jarhead replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
Look EII, I don't want to ridicule you, I can do that on the PP&P board , but if you think high taxes have no effect on the economy in WNY you're fooling yourself. Buffalo is a nice place to live, but unless the leaders and citizens of the area radically change the status quo there nothing will change and the area will continue to die. It is unfortunate since it is my hometown and most of my family still live there, but as the saying goes- It is what it is... -

U2 is a band that has some incredible lyrics. The Unforgettable Fire and The Joshua Tree contain songs with awesome lyrics. I'm also a big Natalie Merchant fan... -

I have a good friend who I was in the Corps with who got out after 12 years. He's from Long Beach and his dad is a longshoreman. Well, as you might know, you almost have to be born into the union to get a job there. And sure enough, Anthony's Dad got him into the union and a peach of a job on the docks once he got out of the Corps. The problem for Anthony is the one you referenced above. He was told that he works too fast and needs to slow down. This did (does) not sit well with him because he's a hard charger and one of the hardest workers Ive ever met. Although he makes a schitload of money on the job, he hates it because of the way many of these guys operate. True story... -

I think it's safe to say La Dipschit is "off the reservation". This thread is developing into a classic...keep up the good work La Dipschit! -
Restoring classic cars is a labor of love and usually doesn't show a ROI dollar for dollar. An exception is if you had a highly collectable (i.e. old Shelby) barn find that you got for cheap. Much like the real estate market, there also is timing involved in the purchase. For example, I have a 1968 Mustang GT Fastback that I purchased in 2001 for $9k in great shape. About a year ago I could've sold the car for ~$30-35k, although I suspect with the funny money supply drying up it'd sell for less than that today. Mind you I have put extensive hours and about $10k in improvements and maintenance into it. But there's nothing like cruising and having people give you the thumbs up or meeting old people who share their memories of having a similar car when they were young. For me, it has been a way for my son and I to bond since he is in love with the car and helps me wrench on it.

As a passive observer of this thread up until this point, you're really earned your new moniker of La Dipschit. There is no need for a factual debate. You got PWND by GG linking some of the news outlets that carried the story. Give it a rest for crying out loud... -
Here's something the Dim's don't advertise "Today's short-term need was yesterday's long-term opportunity". Clinton vetoed the bill that would've had ANWR producing today. These fools in Congress can't look past the toes of their shoes without tripping. But not to worry...The Messiah has spoken and He says that it is OK to drill. Clap, Clap, Make it Happen!

You aren't kidding Chef. At the local shopping center nearest my house there's a Von's with a Starbucks inside of it. The next store over is a barber shop and then there is a Postal Express. Guess what's next to the Postal Express? Another fuggin Starbucks! What corporate genius made this happen?

You don't say...Wow you're in rare form today. Reading is fundamental. Hence the use of the word could've as in 'could have'. BTW, do you have some type of fetish about using the dillywanger? You sure seem to enjoy it. -

Bob Seger is one of those guys who could've been raised in WNY as his song lyrics fit the area to a tee. I've alway's enjoyed his music. Ditto to Da Big Man; music takes me back to times long gone. I had a GOOD TIME growing up in W. Seneca and Hamburg back in the day. There's so many great songs out there that this thread could crash the board if we posted them all. What I find funny as I age is much of the music I wouldn't get caught dead listening to as a kid now sounds good to me. I was that kid who proudly wore the "Disco Sucks" shirt at every opportunity, but some of that old stuff actually sounds good today. -

OR, if Israel attacks Iran (and they try to shut down the Strait of Hormuz), we could see $8.00 a gallon gas by the election... -

One of my all-time favorites. Reminds me of growing up in Buffalo in the late 70's while Bethlehem Steel was closing. Bob Seger's "Main Street" is another favorite of mine: "And sometimes even now, when I'm feeling lonely and beat I drift back in time and I find my feet Down on Mainstreet Down on Mainstreet" Here's another current favorite from Montgomery Gentry: "Got Some Friends Who Would Be Here Fast I Could Call Em Any Time Of Day Got A Brother Who's Got My Back Got A Mama Who I Swears A Saint Got A Brand New Rod And Reel Got A Full Week Off This Year Dad Had A Close Call Last Spring It's A Miracle He's Still Here But I Know I'm A Lucky Man God's Given Me A Pretty Fair Hand Got A House And A Piece Of Land A Few Dollars In A Coffee Can My Old Trucks Still Running Good My Ticker's Tickin' Like They Say It Should I Got Supper In The Oven, A Good Woman's Loving And One More Day To Be My Little Kid's Dad Lord, Knows I'm A Lucky Man My Old Trucks Still Running Good My Ticker's Ticking Like They Say It Should I Got Supper In The Oven, A Good Woman's Loving And Even My Bad Days Ain't That Bad Yeah, I'm A Lucky Man" And one more... "I went to a garden party to reminisce with my old friends A chance to share old memories and play our songs again When I got to the garden party they all knew my name But no one recognized me I didn't look the same But it's all right now I learned my lesson well You see you can't please ev'ryone so You got to please yourself" Ricky Nelson- Garden Party -
That is some funny sheet! Unfortunately it's true. I think this megalomaniac really thinks he going to save the world.
