Ah the Arm strength crew rear its ugly head. Arm strength doesn't mean ****. I am sick of hearing of windy days in Buffalo, they aren't as bad as people make them out to be and yes I have sat in the blowing snow at Rich..err the Ralph so I have been there and experienced it first hand. Arm strength is the most over rated thing in the NFL process. The arm has to be strong enough and Barkleys is. BTW payton maning threw it the same way coming out, it didn't hurt him. Brady had a weak arm coming out, as did Aikman, Brees. Montana etal. Barkley is crazy football smart, played some top teams and this kid can deliver whatever ball you want. Did you see the NFLN special on him training with Mooch? Barkley has been working with Chris Weinke (who is now known to train top QB prospects) and he said when Barkely sets his feet he throws it with the same strength as Cam Newton. How does he know? Cam trained with CW as well before his combine and draft. The throws are there on film, he can throw it in a window, he can throw the 18-20 yard outs. Just like Kurt Warner said about this arm strength crap experts and fans want a guy who can throw it 70 yards. He said he never threw it 70 yards in the NFL, you don't need that elite arm strength, just timing and know who to get it to and be able to do so. So miss out on the top QB and settle for a lesser one and hope he works out? I really wish you guys would quit listening to the damn media What NFL team pays him to scout QB's? None. That means his opinion is no more than any other fan. He isn't a QB coach, he isn't an OC, hell the guy isn't even a scout. He played average for a few years and went into broadcasting or no one outside Philly would remember this clown existed. -
This isn't art, there is no inspiration. We ARE Desperate, any team without a QB is desperate. And Again answer for me this, who convinced you these guys are so bad none of them at #8 can be a franchise QB? Coming out Capernick, Dalton, Wilson all were not more highly regarded than these guys coming out. ALL of those guys had big ? on them or they would have been high draft picks. Hell Drew Brees lasted till the start of the 2nd round. You think if teams would have known then that these percieved flaws he had were bull **** and he turn into the QB he turned into, he would have not been considered or taken #1 overall. Let me help you, the MEDIA doesn't know ****. Teams have scouting departments because they are needed. No one guy, Kiper, Mayock etal is going to be able to ever scout players as well as NFL scouting departments. BTW Kiper, Mayock all said Gabbert was going to be a stud, oops! They said Jamarcus Russell would be one of the greatest ever...ooops! 'Experts' Knocked Payton Manning saying weak arm and on and on and on. These guys are there for entertainment and that is it period. I will say it again, if any of them were worth a damn they would be making millions for an NFL Team. NONE turn to them for advice. Let me ask you this. IF you knew Capernick or Wilson were going to be what they became, would you have taken them with the Bills first round pick in those drafts? The answer should be YES! That said, take the QB you feel best about in round 1 and quit missing on guys that could be the franchise guy because you are afraid and listen to clowns on ESPN and NFLN

That article is 100% spot on! Quit screwing around, take a damn QB at #8 and coach this kid up. I am sick of these whiners listening to the talking heads that don't know ****. It is past time to pull the trigger and take Barkley at #8. The kid is ready, the kid still has a ton of upside, he is the most pro ready. Cut the crap and take him at #8 then fill in around him. -
Per Ian Rapoport: Bills like Barkley in 2nd round
Kellyto83TD replied to Ramius's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Many teams like him in the 2nd unfortunately we draft 10th in the 2nd not 8th so there will be no way in hell we can get him at our 2nd round pick -
Looking at the size, strength, arm strength, mobility he reminds me a lot of Donte, but seems to have better leadership skills. Dante's issue was being consistant. I mean the guy put up 4700 yards once, but seemed to go off only every other year. Before the knee injury he was doing pretty well. And please note this is supposed to be a positive comparrison.

Exactly. What shocks me is Gil Brandt would agree to any team taking Guards this high. I guess he thinks Jim Kelly still plays for the Bills and we don't need a QB
-
lmao guard at #8, I see fans and even peter king forget football 101. We have no QB. Guards can be found and we have SIX on the roster currently AND there are street FA's out there that can come in and compete. I would rather have Tavon Austin or some other WR

Aww man. I really loved watching that guy back when Fan TV was going. Loved his articles, classy guy. He will be missed.

What if next years pick is 10-13 and we are stuck in that area year after year? At some point cut the Bull crap and take the damn QB. Although I think they will trade down if they stay at #8 they have a shot to get either the #1 or #2 rated QB on their board. The other thing is There isn't anyone at #8 that is going to get us to the playoffs so why not take the QB pick? There is not one player in this draft that is so awesome you MUST take them at #8 period. all Experts can agree this isn't a top end draft with a ton of great players, its a deep one with lots of good players. Hell this is so widely known most of the teams in the top 10 are trying to trade out! THANK YOU! Enough of the BS just pull the damn trigger already. I said this before, at the start of the College season Matt Barkley was hands down the consensus #1 pick, but because USC went through turmoil and he got hurt now all of a sudden you ignore 4 years of tape and he suddenly sucks? I wish fans would quit listening to clowns on ESPN, NFLN etc and their blather.
-
Because that has gotten us into the playoffs the last 3 years under Nix doing that right?
-
Its gonna be QB or trade down. Personally I wish we could move back into the first round ahead of time (making a deal with our 2nd rounder with someone with dual firsts) and take Tavon Austin then QB. BUT with Stevie moving into the slot I don't see that happening

TJ: "Be like Mike Wallace"
Kellyto83TD replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Love this Quote... “I feel really good about T.J. Graham,” said Johnson. “I have been watching him since he got here, but these past couple days he looks like a kid with something on his mind. Like as if he is trying to take over the team or take over this receiving corps. It is going to be fun competing with him and the rest of the guys in the room.” I would love for him to step up and be a stud for us. -
The Future Decline of Pro Football

Really? About a decade or so ago Baseball was hands down the #1 sport. I know you can't concieve of it happening, but the facts are it is happening. -
Bills fear Jets will take Ryan Nassib
Kellyto83TD replied to bobcat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Look Jones wouldn't shock me if he pulled out of the draft tomorrow. This kid hasn't really been into football for two years now. Would rather be a minister, stayed in school last year because his fiance hadn't graduated blah blah blah. I want no part of the kid. I want a football player who loves football, eats and sleeps it at the QB position. -

Disagree. it is changing moreso than ever and more parents are pulling / not letting their kids play. This media thing that the NFL uses to hype its game is hurting it as well. Parents and people are getting more informed. -

As long as he isn't over 50 so buddy can fire him based on his age he will be ok... -
The Future Decline of Pro Football

They have over saturated the market and many non hard core fans are getting tired of it. Hard core fans are sick of the 'pussification' of the sport across the board and are going to go back to watching College ball more (I am one of them) Parents are now wising up to buttclown coaches in Pee Wee, JR high and HS playing tough guy and bullying kids into playing injured (concussions are injuries, not playing hurt). I know of several that have pulled their kids with the new awareness to concussions and put them in other sports. I agree in the next few years you are going to see the sport and its popularity decline quite a bit. -
The issue was Tom Donahe didn't think he was worth the money at his age etc. It was one of many moves that bit Tom in the ass

Kellyto83TD replied to bobcat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The closer we get I agree with you. I think the Nassib to Bills thing has been something the Bills have been playing the media and teams on for months. I don't think they plan on taking him at all. -

They don't fear that at all and if they do the entire front office needs to be gotten rid of right now. -
Chris Brown's annual mock draft.............
Kellyto83TD replied to ChanOverChin's topic in College Football
If Chris Brown says EJ Manuel at #8 you can bet that is not the pick. -
Chris Brown's annual mock draft.............
Kellyto83TD replied to ChanOverChin's topic in College Football
Yeah I am not big on him in round 1 -
Why wouldn't he? We didn't draft him AND this org said he wasn't worth the money and let him go. Honestly if I were him I would say F#@! Buffalo. And if any of you were actual players in the same situation you would say the same.
