Neither Levitre or Byrd are worth the money. Wood is often injured, MAYBE they want to see if he can make it through a full season healthy? CJ will get paid but at what price? He isn't AP and never will be so he won't see AP Type money. Problem is he and his agent will say and think he is the best and that causes issues. Honestly I wouldnt' extend anyone at this point either. Wait until into the season and see how they are progressing. Inintialize contact with the agent and see what #'s they are thinking. If they are stupid #'s like Livitre or Byrd wants, forget it.

I am sure Pettine was consulted on his defensive roster, so who says he didn't agree to cut him? OR who says he didn't tell management he couldn't do anything with him? Disagree completely. The guys you list didn't have anywhere near this long of a list of issues, AND all that you listed had geat talent. Johnny M is short at 6'0" and does not have a strong arm (so no wilson comparrisons). He is an over hyped thug that will be exposed this year. Neither, both are wastes of money. Mario is nothing but a shadow of his former self (WHEN he could be somewhat consistent) and Byrd is overhyped by Bills fans because of one season. And I don't care what level a Safety plays at, they aren't worth the jack Byrd wants.

Byrd is over hyped and over rated by Bills fans and it happens all the time. 90% of these guys go to different teams and do nothing. Byrd should be traded during Training camp while he has some value.
