The Bills make fair offers, they dont overpay for a position like Safety (whitner and Byrd) but they are too expensive to keep? the PLAYERS and their AGENTS make them too expensive. Also what part of many of these players just wanted the hell out of Buffalo is still being missed?

True in essence we gave up next years 1st. Recouped it in the Stevie trade then traded it for the RB As much as Iove me some Bill P.... he is out of the NFL for a reason

And the sad thing is local media is whining as well. We gave up two #1 picks for a guy that most likely (according to EVERY 'expert') will become an elite player. But Buffalo gave up too much? What is an elite player that other teams must game plan for worth? I don't remember anywhere near the angst from NFLN, ESPN Etal. about the Julio Jones trade and they gave up essentially THREE #1's a #2 etc. But why is this? Because its BUFFALO! All of a sudden this 'elite' player who many teams had #1 Overall on their board 'must work out to justify the cost'? Um this is the same guy you guys were touting as either the top guy or top 2 in your analysis and mock drafts right? The same guy who the experts said would be an elite WR, that would excel in the NFL, a 'No miss prospect'? But all of a sudden he must work out? Typical Bull **** bias toward the Bills and it has been glaring from that pick through now when the media and some fans are still whining about it. Sometimes you just have to pull the trigger. Who knows who we get next year and honestly I dont give a damn about the 2015 draft at all. I want to win NOW. I want to see significant progress NOW. And if whaley is good he will keep the quality talent he knows can fit our system and win (within reason...) and he can find talent in the 2nd round on next year. If we have a playoff team THIS year, adding to it in the future is much easier...the core of the playoff team is already in place! Look Whaley has put together a team that should gel pretty damn well before that really crappy December run. If we get a RT And Guard that start and kick ass, along with The running game improving and Watkins, Wood, Williams and Goodwin kicking ass along with FINALLY stopping the run much better than we did, then this team is light years ahead of even last year. And to me that means playoffs. Ill just say it right now, (and I get these are two if's) IF the team stays healthy, and IF the new guys Gel... We beat NE for the AFCE Title. Yes I said it, we will win the AFC East division title. Its on like a Mofo!

Great post Jay and spot on. 2nd year in the systems as well as the new talent and Addition by Subtraction (SJ) I cant' see a reason why 10-6 isnt' very doable this year

Dareus, Spiller both may be gone. Dareus can't quit being a dumb ass and grow up already and CJ is expendable as is any RB not named Adrian Peterson

Before this thread gets moved or closed, NO you do NOT give EJ competition. Man you guys after all these years should understand. A rookie QB needs time. He needs about 30 or so games to make an accurate determination on him. I have harped on this subject for years. You pick a guy you insert him and let him play, good or bad and be done with it. NO there is no competition at QB on teams that WIN. They bring in a guy, put him in and be done with it.

I get the feeling most of our draft will pay off. As will the FA pick ups. Now all we need is EJ to finally pay off and its winner winner chicken dinner.

Son has to go back to Okinawa then Kutar for deployment for 6 months then next duty station. Daughter has 2 months of state mandated internship but has been interviewing and had great reviews. She will have a job soon. The future son in law just became a manager over a welding shop. So all is good.

Posters still going on about this? Byrd wasn't our best player on D and we made him a fair offer. We were not going to cripple our cap for a Safety. If NO wants to be that stupid then let them. Stevie was no more than Tied for #3 and most likely #4 on our roster NOT our #1 WR. And it IS a win now team. Addition by addition and Subtraction. This staff got tired of Stevie half assing things, not lifting, having to improvise just to try and get open. Dropping easy balls etc. BTW Stevie won't be but #3 at best in SF.

If I ran things CJ would be nothing more than used like Percy Harvin. Gimick plays, special teams, 3rd down situations. That is what he is best at.
