Seeing a few guys saying Moulds, he wasn't part of our playoff drought. Remember he was part of the Flutie led squad that lost to Miami in the wildcard game. I think he still has the NFL playoff record for receiving yards in a game with 240. I'd probably go with Travis Henry, Kyle Williams is a popular pick but I feel like he's not quite that underrated. Most real football folks know how great of a player he's been. So i'll stick with Henry, a guy whose off-field issues made people forget how good of a player he really was, especially in BUF.

Perhaps it's a bit of smoke, maybe a team will buy into us wanting a QB at 50 and trades up, maybe allowing a guy Whaley truly covets to drop a spot or two? I'd be fairly surprised if a QB is the pick at 50.

Matt Ryan threw near 20 INT's as a senior at BC. Pretty sure we'd all take him in a heartbeat. Don't get lost in the stats, those who break down film say a lot of Winston's INT's were due to freshmen wideouts going to the wrong spot or giving up on the play. The FSU defense was a shell of what it was the year prior, Winston had to force the issue more often than not which led to him forcing balls into tight spots. He's a fine pick at #1.

Lots of his INT's were due to freshmen wideouts not being in the right spot or giving up on the route, the others Winston was flat out pressing and trying to do too much. Lots of good QB's do it. Matt Ryan threw, what, 18, 19 INT's as a senior at BC? Winston was just a RS Soph, he's putting on a clinic at the combine. Mariota still waiting for his WR's to make their break before throwing the ball, Winston's ball is already in the air before the wideout makes his cut. Both are looking like solid prospects, for sure. But Jameis to me in the safer on field prospect. Not as good of an athlete but a true QB.

Maybe it was Marrone, but i doubt it. Not a single guard on this roster deserved to play in the league last year. Chris Williams was the 14th overall pick for Chicago as an OT and got moved to guard because he wasn't any good. After a handful of injury prone, poorly played seasons, he was cut. One season with the OL needy Rams, and then they let him walk in FA. I'm not going to kill Marrone because he couldn't get this guy to perform better than he did. Guy simply isn't a good player. Richardson was a rookie who clearly wasn't ready and Urbik and the rest of lot would be waiver wire fodder if we cut them. His starting RT was a 7th round pick rookie who while talented, was going to take his lumps. Glenn and Woods' jobs get harder when the guys playing next to them can't do their job. Might not be Marrone's fault. No coach in the league was getting this OL to be great. Perhaps a new scheme or attitude, coach, whatever gets more out of them this year, but if it happens it's worth noting the rookies got experience, and a full year with NFL strength and conditioning. If/when this group improves everybody will want to say "see? it was Marrone's fault !" but i'm not sure he wouldn't have had them playing better this season also.

For his career his offenses have averaged 15th in points, 16th in yards. He's capable, but rarely does he climb any further than slightly above average. He'll get the most out of what he has though.

Marrone is interviewing with Bears, if he can bring Schwartz along with him he could appeal to them. Chicago needs to get back to that whole monsters of the midway thing.

You pretty much nailed it. Look, Marrone isn't Vince Lombardi, but he's not nearly the bum that many on this board keep making him out to be. The OL stinks, he had interior linemen who flat out have no business starting in the NFL, his starting RT was a 7th round pick rookie, whom while talented has a ways to go. Wood is a solid player, nothing more, nothing less. Glenn, again, good, not great. I'm not sure why this line struggling is such an indictment on Marrone's offense. Everybody's hero Whaley didn't exactly give him the hogs up front to work with. Doug was a good, but flawed coach that inherited a good, but flawed roster. When your main positions of weakness are QB/OL, no coach is doing a lot better than 9-7.
