(who aren’t accused of the same thing and aren’t impacted by the same type of discipline anyway so it’s comparing apples and avocados) …what about last year?? (even though he refused to play because he wanted traded). People really think we are all stupid by throwing this stuff out there as some kind of defense.

The expectations for programs like that are no more than 1 loss per year, conference championships, beat the rival, recruit best talent in-state and nationally, and challenge for national titles. He didn’t do any of that, other than maybe beating Oklahoma at some point. I’ve always thought he was a good OC. But he’s not well thought of as an HC and he’s now as “offensive analyst” for the Bears.

Too small of a sample size to determine nfl success for a Day QB. He has one QB who played in his system who had been the NFL for one season (Fields). He was Haskins Qb coach and Burrow’s QB coach for 2 years but it was Urban’s offense and burrow didn’t play any significant time in it. sark just got to Texas last year so can’t hold Herman’s recruiting failures against him, but if he doesn’t hit it out of the park with all that talent In Texas he will be gone too. Especially since he’s going to be in the SEC soon.

No one knows who will win the job or how good either of them are or will turn out to be. I believe they were both considered 100.0 (perfect) prospects in recruiting rankings. Both have red flags though.

Yes, Qbs do like to play for Ryan Day. However, he wasn’t going to play as soon as he wanted.

They were were the only ones actually willing to sign him to that contract. They didn’t win the right to sign him to it. They essentially ended up bidding against themselves. If Atlanta had offered the same contract they would be the team going through this right now. That was where he wanted to go.

He lit up his wallet by reclassifying so he could be eligible for NIL, but got to Columbus way too late - Mid august, then got covid, went home for awhile, etc - to have an opportunity to play any meaningful snaps on 2021. Then he knew he wasn’t unseating Stroud this year so he left.
