  1. The Bills apparently told them they could tweet it out during practice whereas normally they are limited to tweet post practice
  2. Probably will get its own thread but will put this here for now
  3. McDermott presser moved to 4pm
  4. McD meeting with Bills PR right now before his presser
  5. The chiefs drafted a guy who was convicted of throwing his pregnant GF down the stairs. No one in the media cared. He’s a celebrated player now. I’m just saying, why was that. https://www.sportscasting.com/tyreek-hill-brutally-beat-and-choked-his-pregnant-girlfriend-in-college-but-never-saw-any-jail-time/
  6. I don’t know if it is as I think back to my college days. Many parties were outside and I never went in the house.
  7. No I definitely don’t think they knew what was going to be in it - at least not the details. This is what changed in the 24 hours for McDermott
  8. It is definitely possible that the Bills were led to believe he wasn’t involved - by Matt, his lawyer, the investigator. They felt comfortable with what his role was that night based on the info that they had. Then the civil suit drops and he’s the central figure. Now they need to do more work. And it’s possible he still wasn’t involved.
  9. Actually, they were told on 7/30 that a civil suit was coming. They knew it would be public.
  10. I think they will be focused. I do think learning about it all over the last 24 hours before the game last night was weird and they didn’t really want to be there. The players won’t be involved in the Araiza stuff except I’m sure they are hoping he’s innocent
  11. And as we saw with McDermott he is extremely conflicted. He wants to the right thing. For the girl. For araiza. For the team. for the organization. But the truth is not evident. And the regular season is 12 days away. I feel for him in a big way. the Easy thing to do is cut him, sign another punter, get it out of the way so they don’t have it hanging over them and prepare for the rams. He doesn’t know if that’s the right thing to do. Because he doesn’t know if he was involved.
  12. Should the release him before they know if he was involved in what is being alleged? That’s the question.
  13. I don’t recall that anyone said this age declaration (or question) took place. Her side is saying she told them she was in HS. His side is saying she told people she went to Grossmont college. Her diary says she told them she went to Grossmont. Grossmont is the name of both an area HS and area college.
  14. Again his lawyer is saying he didn’t give her a drink. Her diary read that a white guy with brown hair handed her a drink. The civil suit says it was him. Civil suit said she arrived at the party already drunk. Lawyer says he has witnesses who say she was not obviously drunk
  15. At this point we don’t know if she lied or didn’t lie. Araizas lawyer claims he has witnesses that say she told everyone she was in college. But that’s beside the overall point of the rape allegation.
  16. I agree with that in the sense of if he’s guilty ONLY of having sex with her under the guise that she was in college, he shouldn’t be cut. He’s saying he was not involved in the rape. I think it’s possible that he wasn’t. But we don’t know. That’s why McDermott wants to know the truth. But this is the worst possible time to have to deal with this situation and not to mention he is shook by the details as a human being. Someone did that to her, we just don’t know who.
  17. I agree they are only accusations at this point but it appears that they could have talked to araiza, his attorney, etc after reading the civil suit and learned more from them as well (then had been previously disclosed). Maybe araiza said he never had sex with the girl and now admits he did. We just don’t know what he said to them previously.
  18. Hold everything! 53% of ST snaps last night vs 18% for Kumerow
  19. It is because, as he said, they learned more in the 24 hours leading up to the game than they knew previously. That’s why he was in Carolina, expecting to play, and no other punter on the roster. It was a last minute decision to not play him. That’s why McD couldn’t sleep. It was the details in the civil suit that they didn’t have until Thursday evening
