Chrisman isn’t a rookie but certainly less experience than those 2. With only 7 days until they leave for LA, it’s a concern no matter what.

Could be partly due to Araiza’s overall inexperience with holding. Chrisman held for 4 years in college, might help if he’s the guy.

They also have cameras everywhere at TC. They track the players every move during drills, on the sidelines, etc. I believe every team has these. Probably some QC coach who watches that film and reports on that to the staff.

Reid Ferguson said yesterday he didn’t think it would take long for a new punter to get acclimated. Not sure if he’s just being optimistic but he seemed confident.

The failure was in the pro scouting process and decision to sign him at all, and to that deal. But it’s wise to recognize that error and cut your losses early instead of doubling down on a player that doesn’t fit and isn’t going to help your team. The money is spent either way.

If they don’t get chrisman via the waiver wire it will come down to Sam Martin (who also wants a ton of money) and those guys they worked out earlier this week I guess.

He has developed well. TE is also one of the tougher positions in the nfl for young guys to develop because it is not a position that is utilized the same way in most college schemes as it is in the league. Outside of a few college offenses, most TEs coming out of college are a projection based on measurables

Howard didn’t do enough to make the team, it’s that simple. He got beat out by Morris for TE2 and if you are going to be kept as TE3 you need to play on teams, which he does not. It’s pretty clear he was the worst of the TEs in camp.

They have no one behind Hayden hurst. Ability shown throughout camp and preseason wasn’t going to get him on the field on offense and he doesn’t play ST as a depth guy, so gots to go. Essentially he got beat out for TE2 by Quintin Morris. Sweeney can play ST and Josh likes him so he gets to stay as the depth TE.

I wouldn’t say bad exactly but has had some injuries with Steelers. Going off of the public recruiting of him over the summer being done by Von and Diggs, he or another vet could be signed after week 1 as a possibility.

There remains a possibility that a vet corner is signed after week 1 when the contracts are no longer guaranteed. Maybe that’s Haden. This isn’t the final 53.

“Clever” isn’t the word I use to describe bengals contracts but they are definitely not giving him a lot of money.

I actually think they could bring back sooner than that. I think he’s probably relatively close to being cleared which was why Beane said they were taking it down to to the last minute, but they know he needs to practice first etc and by drafting Elam and Benford that gives them the luxury to not need to rush him back for the early games, to increase the potential that he’s full strength for the bulk of the schedule and playoffs.
