I agree, it's supposed to make people forget the protests, and feel like wackiness is the true spirit of the NFL. It won't last, because it will have to escalate to remain interesting to the numbskulls that look forward to it, and that will backfire. -

I never read the Orton thread. My favorite is "The Clapper", McD and his clapping getting on nerves. I think it still has potential as a thread! Everyone should add to it. -

Nah, I ain't biting. That was quick and cool. Not at all like some family photo, with guys trying to remember what to do, and thinking "we are just so funny". That looked like a personal little celebration between teammates, not a big display for the cameras. -

"K2" bothered me because he was such an overhyped, self-aggrandizing douche (as was his father, though he was one of the greats). "TO" was pure marketing, and I cringed whenever broadcasters used it, catering to his ego. -

Spikes are fine. I like them. And Gronkowski's are fine (another thing I don't like are nicknames. K2, TO, Ocho Cinco...it reeks of marketing). I don't really buy into the "act like you've been there" either. It sounds like you are trying hard to act above it all, or making great show of your humility. Like I said, immediate, natural, emotional displays are cool. -

Anyone here "look forward" to seeing a celebration? Like, "ooh, I want to see what Ocho Cinco does this time"? Anyone? I would like to know the mindset of the posters here. To keep the focus on the game, and to keep players focused on the game. Why do schools with uniforms perform better than schools without? Anything that happens ON the field, affects the game. You won't change my mind. You are free to enjoy the spectacle. I don't. -

What does that mean? "Deserve"...why do they "deserve" to be able to celebrate however they want? Its a game, with rules, not a street corner. There are plenty of things they aren't allowed to do on the field, that are perfectly legal off the field. It's nonsense. -

I don't mind something that expresses immediate emotion (a spike, or a quick gesture), but planned out multi-player skits ring false. The Chiefs "family photo" was ridiculous, especially because they were losing. It implies that they are only looking for attention, and personal goals, like they don't really have their head in the game enough to get over an immediate gratification. I'm sure many love it, I think it's trashy. But then I think DIY spoilers on Corollas are trashy. I think Tattoos are trashy. I think pretending to pee like a dog after a TD is trashy. Pretty soon it will be guys pretending to do it doggie style. "What? It's just a celebration! What are you homophobic?" -

Whitey taking over the neighborhhod
Prickly Pete replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
LA gentrification....I noticed that the fact that Latinos have been pushing Blacks (often violently, in gang turf wars) out of their neighborhoods was glossed over. She doesn't want to talk about that, and of course, neither do Latinos. It's all Whitey's fault. Latinos never mention their own take over of LA neighborhoods when they complain about gentrification. -
I find rape claims from ex-wives extremely suspect.

"I think I remember that day. This blonde was really coming on strong, rubbing her chest against me when I tried to lean away. She was alright, but after the photo I politely stepped away, grabbed two of the brunettes by their _____ , and left. "

Because Trump has gotten tons of tail, and Franken is ugly. Trump's clip sounds like a guy playfully (if tastelessly) exaggerating how easy it is for a famous, incredibly wealthy, good looking guy to pick up women. He has a long history of being with beautiful women, and his actions come across as an arrogant douchebag boasting (which he obviously is). Trump's personality doesn't strike me as the type that forces himself on women against their will, but rather as someone who would revel in dismissing a woman that had spurned his advance. He would probably just "grab" the women's best friend instead, as a petty revenge. Trump has needed to reject women and advances from them, for most of his life. Like, there are too many for him to deal with. Like, he's had to sift through the abundance of his surroundings, evading gold diggers, plotters, and opportunists as best he can, to decide which of the beautiful women availing themselves to him, are worth the time (and risk) to have sex with. Franken on the other hand...his actions are familiar to anyone that knows not so attractive, sexually awkward males that might get creepy when they attain a position with a little power. According to the woman, she pointedly rejected Franken's advances and he persisted, then later took the "pretending to grope a sleeping woman" photo. Franken comes across as a weak, desperate nerd (which he probably is). Franken...well, I doubt he's had to reject many beautiful women's advances. And if you are honest with yourself, and stop the hand-wringing over Trump, and stop trying to dream up reasons and excuses why Trump shouldn't be president, you will admit that you understand the differences between the two men, the very different situations, and the sexual marketplace dynamics at play. And no, I don't think Franken should resign. Donald Trump Al Franken

WAAHHH! Dude, this isn't going to bring down Trump. He won't resign over this. Give it up. You aren't going to convince anyone to change their mind about this. Move on to the next outrage.

So, 4-12 predictors...how's that working out?

Meh, they are just in a slump. Plenty of bad teams ( or decent teams having a bad day) ahead on the schedule. -

7-9 to 9-7....it's just where the middling teams fall. They have 6 games left and will win 2 or 3. -

It just keeps getting better.... www.dailywire.com/news/23774/black-female-writer-lena-dunhams-girls-quits-she-hank-berrien# "Clemmons wrote that she has known Dunham since their college years, and they shared overlapping social circles. Clemmons noted she “avoided those people like the plague because of their racism,” adding, “I'd call their strain ‘hipster racism’, which typically uses sarcasm as a cover, and in the end, it looks a lot like gaslighting—‘It's just a joke. Why are you overreacting?’” She said she heard people use the “n-word,” then try to act like it was all a joke".
