Next year's QB class isn't as good. Do you really think a couple rookie linemen will magically transform the line in their first season? I suppose it's "possible", but not something one should count on. So then what? You have a couple of guys that might develop in a couple years. Then you have other, new holes. Journeyman Olinemen are COMMON. Journeyman QB's are not good enough. I can't believe this needs to be explained. They have been filling holes for decades, with no success. Entire careers from some pretty good players, have come and gone, all for naught because they haven't had a good QB. It seems obvious to just about anyone with a brain, that they have accumulated all these picks with the intent of using them to get the QB in THIS DRAFT.

I'm still shocked anyone could have watched that and think for a minute that he believes what he is saying? I don't really think it's a big deal to make the claims that he did in the video (it's just cliché sports babble), but when fans here say "I like his attitude" etc...he looks sheepish for a guy claiming to be preparing for the Pro Bowl. He looks like a guy worried about making the roster, but trying to make up for it with some really weak bravado.

Kick The Tires on Brandon Marshall?

Why not just kick his ass to the next team? SIgning an aging diva would be a bad move for this team. -
Peterman Works w/ Tom House, Adds Velocity

Post of the Year (Decade?) Certainly the best post in this thread. This whole "Peterman!, Peterman!!, Peterman!!!" thing is ridiculous. In the grand scheme, Peterman is a punchline. He ain't even Gary Marangi! -
The Deep State War Heats Up
Prickly Pete replied to Deranged Rhino's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Team Hillary is still poking into Trump's business trying to to undermine the legally elected president. If they would !@#$ off, I would gladly never mention her again. But then, you know this...but you have nothing, nothing at all, so you lash out. Sad. It's funny, my housemates, ardent Trump haters who would try to gang up on me prior to the election, have fallen into silence. One is a journalist, who upon waking EVERY day, would launch into her hour long ritual of internet news attacks on Trump. She also wrote for a variety of websites, spreading pathetic lies and fake news. Pathetic. When I had asked each of them to name one thing that Trump was going to do that was so disastrous, the one thing that they were certain was part of his diabolical plan, and that made it imperative that he must be stopped, one insisted that he was going to declare martial law, and the other insisted that he would overturn Roe vs. Wade. I bet them $1000 each that neither of those things would happen. Uh....so far so good. Another friend bet me $100 that Trump would be impeached as a direct result of the Mueller investigation. None of these !@#$s have paid up, or at least mentioned the bet. But it's worth it because they can't complain out of fear that I might bring up our wager. -

Why do people insist on hitching their wagon to long shots? Lots of crap QB's work on their weaknesses in the off-season. Like pretty much ALL of them. They do it so they can continue to get paid, and they hope it works out. The likelihood of Peterman even becoming mediocre is pretty low, yet some here seemed to have made some personal investment in his success. It's weird. -
Yeah, but they're a bit "cold", all metal and polished tiles, and from what I remember they aren't solo. I really like the wood, and the complete privacy of Starbucks. No cramped stall for me.

Starbucks is the shitter for the travelling man. When I was on tour, we ALWAYS shat at Starbucks. Sometimes we even bought coffee. "America's Shithouse, Starbucks"

Did anybody who watched the clip REALLY feel like he is brimming with confidence? It looked to me like a guy hanging around his old school where he was a big deal, trying to act confident when he really knows he ain't cutting it. I actually feel more embarrassed for him than anything else. He can't even look at the reporter.

Aaron Rodgers 'You've got to trust the process'
Prickly Pete replied to TSNBDSC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Catchphrase of the times, "trust the process". Remember "next man up", "swagger", and "butch"? -
I had been hoping that the Bill would trade up to get Rosen (I assume Darnold will go first. Darnold would be my first choice). However, here in LA on the Petros &Money Show, they (and guys on their staff) have been very down on Rosen. They have been pretty spot on in the past when they criticized previous local college guys. They set out warnings on Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart, had pretty good assessments of guys like Sanchez, Barkley, Kessler, and others. I think they have good local sources. They consider him a very talented player, but very selfish and difficult. He apparently had originally been keen to become a tennis pro, but an arm/shoulder injury nixed that. They feel his mentality is more suited to an individual sport than a team sport. They also alluded to hearing lots of negative things about him from people around the team. Rosen is not well liked. Another big concern is his concussions, and that he might be fragile. I haven't heard them rip into Darnold at all. I put more weight in their opinions on LA college players, than any of the national media guys. I suppose I would be happy enough if they selected Rosen at 12, but not happy if they trade away a bunch of picks to select him higher.

But... It's Our Swamp Now
Prickly Pete replied to ExiledInIllinois's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I think it was WikiLeaks. I could be wrong. Regardless, $43,000 is small change when it comes to "swamp" extravagances. This is a mountain out of a molehill. -

Obama spent $65,000 on pizza and hotdogs for a party. -
A year ago, I would probably have gone with Neo-Progressive Authoritarianism, but I feel like that is fading, and that hopefully it was averted. They will eat themselves. Instead, it might be the splintering of the culture. It feels like the latest generations of kids are growing up in a thinly spread collection of subcultures, and may not be having enough experiences in common to keep a country bonded together with at least a little bit of a common purpose.
