  1. Yeah, I think that's what every QB says when they get drafted in the first round. I think the team expects McCarron to play most of the games this season, while holding a glimmer of hope that Allen will progress faster than they anticipated, and might takeover at some point this year. I think most people (coaches, GM, owner, and fans) expect Allen to start next season, though. I agree, but it's not going to happen overnight. At the start of next season, I think the offense will be much different. Maybe they will even trade McCoy mid-season if they are really bad this year (I think they will be at least as good as last year, though)
  2. Peterman ain't gonna play before Allen (maaaaybe, if it's like the first few weeks of the season, and McCarron slipped on a banana during training camp). Allen is probably already better than Peterman. Peterman blows. Josh Allen won't throw 5 INT's in his first game. I expect McCarron to play until the Bills are out of the playoff hunt, then Allen will get a look. If is week 12, and the Bils have just been knocked out of playoff contention, but Peterman starts instead of Allen, I will be very worried.
  3. All day long on LA radio, the talk was about Rosen being passed over. He is not well liked by teammates, coaches, and lots of people around him. It's not a secret, it's not a "rumor", it's a FACT....he rubs lots of people that have worked with him, the wrong way. How relevant that is, is up to everyone to decide for themselves.
  4. He was forcing them because they were in desperate situations. It wasn't a matter of not being smart, it's that those were the situations where his skills weren't up to the circumstances.
  5. He was alright. Phillips scouting profile read quite a bit like Mike Lodish's.
  6. Ouch! I thought it was Ryan Kelsay, and Chris Denney?
  7. The Next Mike Lodish, or the Next Kyle Williams?
  8. This is about ROOKIE SEASON IMPACT. I didn't say they never are rookie successes, or that they don't have good careers(which ISN'T THE DISCUSSION.GET IT?) People here are fretting over the Oline sucking THIS SEASON. And I'm saying a rookie 3rd rounder ain't likely to help. And I provided FACTS that back me up. I said it folly to think the Bills should draft a guy in the 3rd and expect him to be a good rookie starter. The odds are highly weighted AGAINST THAT. GET IT??? I'm ready for your stats...
  9. Snap counts are facts. I'm still waiting for your FACTS. You have nothing. (and please keep reposting my article with your response, because it directly negates any point you try to make.)
  10. Moving the goalposts Snap counts are FACTS. You got nothing on ROOKIES IMPACT. And that is the discussion. YOu have a very low post count. Methinks you should go study up.
  11. Took a minute to find this, surely there is more.7 Now it's your turn...let's see the stats on successful later round rookie Olineman (or maybe you should just quit now?) https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/rookie-impact-offensive-tackles "As you get to later rounds, it becomes much less likely that rookies see significant playing time. Former Raider Jared Veldheer was the only third-round offensive tackle to receive over 800 snaps, and two-thirds of third-round rookie tackles saw 20 snaps or fewer as a rookie. The fourth and fifth rounds brought the NFL rookie starters in Bobby Massie in 2012, as well as David Bakhtiari and Jordan Mills last year. When you get to the last two rounds of the draft, 80% fail to play a single offensive snap as a rookie, and not a single player topped 800 snaps in their first season. Typically, when any of these players picked after the second round see playing time, it is more out of a lack of team depth than the player being ready for that kind of playing time."
  12. Look into it yourself. Rookie RB's and Linebackers have a better chance of making immediate impact. Probably because these are instinctive postions. Oline is all about technique, and general takes more time to develop the techniques.
  13. Do people expect these Bills to contend this year? I don't, so chasing positional players to fill this seasons holes is STUPID.
  14. Never said that. I said it's foolish to think you will fill the holes in the Oline with a rookie 3rd rounder. And that it's simplistic, dumb fan thinking. (actually, just added that). Running backs, and linebackers - yes. Olineman - rarely. I wouldn't count on it happening. I would draft BPA, and look to free agency, while hoping the guys from the previous drafts develop. HAHAHA! Great idea!
  15. 3rd round rookies at WR or Oline probably won't have an impact THIS SEASON, so why chase after guys to "fill holes"? Free agents are your friends for filling holes season to season. The draft is about the future, free agency is about NOW.
  16. Zay Jones has a way better chance of having an impact THIS SEASON, than any 3rd round rookie WR. They gotta go BPA. Half the guys won't even be playing in a couple years.
  17. It happens, but I think people are approaching it like "We have a whole THIS SEASON at OL, draft a lineman, and it addresses the need"....yeah MAYBE with a first round guy, but usually an olineman takes a couple years to get any good, so drafting a 3rd rounder and thinking "Yay, we've addressed the Oline!" is simplistic. There are some positions that rookies have a better track record of making an impact (Running Back , Linebackers particularly). If they are going to improve the line THIS SEASON, I don't expect it to be through the draft. *House Ballard was an odd situation. He was a top prospect, more like a 1st round guy.
  18. I don't know that. For all we know McCarron could end up being "good enough" and the Bills could be a really good team. The point is, there are many variables, and Mahomes could become a very good QB, and the Bills could still have more success. It's all about how the team is being put together. All that really matters is which TEAM is more successful. There have been trades by the Patriots that people have said "How stupid. The Pats lost that trade!", yet they kept being successful. Maybe a player was really good, but a pain in the ass (like Lawyer Milloy).
  19. What if Mahomes turns out to be a franchise QB, but the Bills are a more successful team than the Chiefs?
  20. Yeah, I really don't think partisans will give a ****. It's been a year and a half of disproving a ridiculous smear that nobody really believed anyway. Maybe a few people will go to jail, and the Democrats look bad. Big deal. So who is really the "winner"? It feels more like the Democrats have been about as effective as possible in tying up Team Trump. I want some !@#$ing heads rolling.
  21. I think the trade is going to work out well for both teams.
