"I'm afraid to start a rookie. Put in the 2nd year guy, he's so much safer"...wringing your hands over this like old ladies. Where? Point it out... I think you have been reading about "inconsistency", more than seeing it. I see a guy consistently getting better each week.

Why, because he is a devoted Christian? Peterman has done NOTHING to earn that kind of praise. Get real, at this point he hasn't shown enough to hold Frank Reich's old, vintage jockstrap.
-
If the O-line sucks that bad, it's time to make a trade, and bring in a better player or two. Peterman isn't going to fair any better (he blows). The offensive identity is different with Allen, and they need to gear it to Allen NOW, not working on plays that suit Peterman's game.

Pfft. Because Peterman has shown so much veteran savvy.

It's obvious that the whole team gets a boost when he is in there. You can feel the excitement. There is no point in keeping him on the bench. This is professional football...you don't sacrifice 3 or 4 games at the start of the season, just to keep a guy like Allen away from defenses that people think are going to be tough this season (they don't really even know). And thinking that instead, sending a guy that threw 5 picks in his first start, is somehow a great way around it is idiotic. Allen is the guy, and the coach not starting him would be letting down both Allen, and his teammates. It's not like he is displacing a respected old veteran starter, or even a crappy vet. Does anyone think Peterman is held in such high regard by his teammates, that they would be disappointed if he didn't get the job? Ridickerous. If Allen starts day one, this team will be better than last season, and will likely make the playoffs. If Peterman plays 3 or 4 games, there will be wasted games that will haunt them in December.

We Learn A Lot About Allen When He Plays the Browns

Quit !@#$ing around. He is the starter. -
McCarron and Peterman injured?

No need to even joke, I am perfectly fine with those guys getting out of the way to heal up, while Josh Allen takes all the 1st team reps. it would be best for everyone. -
Omarosa's Book

All this stuff was thrown at the wall early in year one, and didn't stick. No one cares, even if any of it true, because he is doing a great !@#$ing job. -
So he can learn and get better? This idea of conceding games, or wringing your hands based on the opponent's performance the year before is ridiculous. Every season is different. In those towns they are probably talking about how the Bills were a playoff team last year. If he is the better guy, put him in. If the idea is to ease him in, just focus on ball control, and the running game. It's not a big deal.

Yeah, guys who are hoping that Peterman gets a chance to somehow validate their past proclamations. They most likely realize that Allen will eventually start, but they just want Peterman to get in for a little while so they can claim he is somewhat legit (but he blows). There needs to be a new term for when someone digs a hole for themselves on social media. It's a big problem these days (especially regarding politics), with people more worried about being humiliated by their everlasting public postings, than things progressing. No one wants to let go, and just say "I was wrong".

Hahaha. You are vastly underrating the talent that Allen is bringing to the team. Why people project things on to a guy like Peterman is beyond me. I don't know if they see some of themselves in them, like they want to support the underdog, or some such, but he ain't gonna play ahead of Allen. Like, your dreaming. This early camp ranking is all standard "veteran's first"-type jazz. But I like to see these kind of posts, it adds to the fun.
