  1. It seems they are still working on just getting it right at the snap.
  2. I heard he helped Peterman help Daboll move into his office, and that he and Peterman are always the last 2 guys off the field at practice...
  3. Of course. But Im pointing out that it likely affects his comp.%. That's bad.
  4. I'm aware of that. But that doesn't mean it will work for every guy, or that it wouldn't benefit him to have better touch, no?
  5. I luv Allen, but it needs to be said, he has to develop some touch on his passes. I'm wondering if maybe a big part of why his comp.% was so low is because he throws such a hard ball to catch. Maybe if he let a little air out of the ball to soften it up? ?
  6. Yep.they might not get a great wr, but it actually should be pretty easy to improve upon what they have now. Because what they have now is the bottom of the barrel.
  7. I'm aware of all that. But McDermott still believed that Peterman was at least competent, and he was wrong wrong wrong.
  8. Then set about improving everything else around it. A flanker type back that is a good receiver, a TE, and obviously the Oline.
  9. I'm quoting myself. I was only half joking. This is how Peterman got the job. He did all the right things, and convinced the coach that he was the perfect guy to develop as a backup. Unfortunately, he belongs in the CFL. It really makes me wonder about McDermott's ability to assess players, like he might get too caught up in idealizing guys with "character".
  10. There has got to be a place in the organization for such a fine young man. Maybe there's room for him at the merch counter?
  11. ...and there's a blizzard going on... and the other team sucks...
  12. If you listen to McCoy's post game, it's obvious which guy he wants out there. It's got to happen. Home opener.
  13. I can picture a game like 2 deep passes that are TDs (or lead directly to TDs), with some erattic possessions in between, and maybe a score off a turnover deep in Charger territory. They could win the game this way, but might lose by a score or 2.
  14. I think he HAS to do more than manage the game. This team isn't good enough to win with a manager. They will be down, and will have to open it up out of necessity. I think "managing" is the absolute worst approach for him at this point. I think he needs to make big plays, and learn how to manage as he goes. It will be an erractic season of ups and downs, but this team isn't going anywhere special this season anyway. I expect him to throw the ball around like a gunslinger whether the coach likes it or not, because that is Allen's instinctive response. I expect him to throw an interception or 2. I expect the running game to be much more effective because the opposition won't be sure to commit to stopping McCoy. I don't know if they will win, but I feel they will be a lot better.
  15. I would be absolutely shocked if they cut him. It would be admitting that they made a huge error. They will probably bring in another QB. Eventually.
  16. Ok.what does that actually mean, here in week one, when half the league is 0-1?
  17. What the !@#$ does that even mean? It's the first week of the season, and exactly half the league has the same record. I always thought that quote from Parcells was nonsense. But people love to wash his balls. Great coach, but not every quote is brilliance.
  18. I don't think this is crazy talk. I am reserving judgement until I have seen them with Allen starting a few games.
  19. I meant, there is no point bickering with each other about whether they will play significantly better with Allen as the starter. We will find out next week, and one of us can come back and gloat. My position is that Allen will have an impact on the entire team's play, and it will be noticeable to most here.
  20. Yeah, they are lacking. But Allen provides a psychological lift for the entire team, defense too. I believe they will play significantly better. We shall see, and if I'm wrong, beat me up on here. I can take it.
  21. They sucked today, but don't underestimate the impact of having Allen in there can have on this team's psyche. I expect them to play much better next week, assuming Allen starts.
  22. So much of playing QB well is the repetition, the timing subtleties...they blew it. How much better would Allen be if he had gotten the reps in training camp? Gotten the reps this week? Even a play like the non-handoff to McCoy might have been different if he had run it a bunch in practice. Troll. You're blocked.
