Why are you getting involved?

Why would someone ask a question, then close a conversation? Good day to you.

Thanks. But while my participation isn't obligated, there is the implication by some, that were I to post negative comments about Bush and his passing, that it is somehow tasteless and "classless". But ***** off anyway.

I don't understand all this "we have to honor someone we never knew, who I suspect of criminal activity, who held beliefs completely contrary to mine, etc"...I'm not damning him to hell, but why am I somehow obligated to publicly declare my condolences? Or not speak of him in a bad light?

(hypothetical) Alabama vs. Bills spread
Prickly Pete replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This isn't worthy of serious discussion. It's also insulting to the current Bills roster. "The Body Bag Bowl" -
Was Baker Mayfield a DOUCHE Yesterday?

Hue Jackson is a jerk. He was a jerk well before he was fired. -

What's the spread on the body count? I say... 2 deaths 4 career ending injuries 10 out for the rest of the game And 10 guys from the Tide that call in sick. -
Yep. I have NEVER voted Republican! I didn't even vote for Trump, because I live in CA, I knew it was already decided. I actually voted for Jill Stein...just for a lark really. I initially was all in on Hillary!!! I came to PPP to chastise the Righties here as Sexists!!!!!! Then I came back to apologize, after I began to realize that the Democratic Party has been taken over by creeps. It actually still blows my mind that I'm now considered Right-Wing! It all harkens back to Clock Boy. Once I started to see the lengths that the media, Obama, and really anyone with a Leftist outlook, would go to, to keep the charade afloat, in the face of all reasonable evidence, I had to question EVERYTHING. Clockboy goes to MIT, Clockboy meets the President.... It's been all downhill since then. Once I saw how people dug in on social media, and how people went so far that there was no coming back, I realized that I had to step away. No one wants to admit they were wrong... "I'm sorry I called your whole family racist pigs, who I hope die a painful, cancerous death".... "I didn't really mean it when I said your children were ugly, after you said you were going to vote for Trump".... "We're still cool after I mentioned that I know for a fact that your husband hires black hookers, right? Cuz now I realize that Trump probably won't force Muslims into concentration camps like I said before".

It's a losing issue, and there is way too much support for it on both sides. Somehow, the Liberals I am surrounded by are still living in 1985, worried about far-right Christians. That Moral Majority style Christian populace has shrunk rapidly, they were mostly older people who have literally died off. Yet despite all kinds of "moral" loosing developments (sex and drugs, TV standards, porn) they are still terrified they will somehow be at the mercy of Bible Thumping Republicans. The crazy moralists are ALL ON THE LEFT. It's the main reason I have moved away from the Left. Hypocritical Holes

Adrian Peterson--How is this POS still in the NFL today?
Prickly Pete replied to Mr. WEO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe you wouldn't have needed it more than once if he had only tied you to a tree and whipped your naked body with a stick...you know, right from the start. Think of the man you COULD have been? -

I always thought of it more as a mild embarrassment, than about inflicting pain on the child. Just a quick pointed message of "there are consequences for poor behavior or judgement". -

I'm still trying to figure out why people beat their kids with an object like a belt or stick? I'm not averse to spanking children (I spanked my children, mildly), but when you start using weapons...it seems to be taking it all into a weird sadistic scene. -
Do you mention this to any of the pussyhatters you may know? It seems like a topic that fuels a lot of their hysteria, and it's heavily promoted by the media. In fact, I made a $500 bet with my (female) housemate that Roe vs, Wade will not be overturned. It had been the first thing she shouted at me, when I asked what terrible things she felt Trump had in store. My other roommate submitted that Trump was going declare Martial Law...this was all 2 years ago. I'm sure I'll never get my money, but at least they never bring up Trump to me...well worth it.

I've never gotten the impression that Trump cares much about "dismantling" Obamacare. It strikes me an an issue similar to abortion, where it's the party line that he kinda has to acknowledge, and throw a few nods at, then continue on with the things he seems to really care about, like trade agreements, taxes, immigration, and draining the swamp.
