The problem for me is that as I get older, there have been more and more Super Bowls, and they progressively feel less and less special. I was born in 1967, and what used to be a big achievement, now seems like just another season's winner. The shine kind of wore off after the 90's Bills. And I hate the Halftime shows that are designed to entertain the casual (or not-at-all) viewer. I hate that they pander to those people at the expense of the actual NFL fans.

Is Tom Brady A Cheater?

Tom Brady is the ultimate leader, and the greatest team sport athlete in recorded history. Back off, you pathetic whiners. If he was a Buffalo Bill (oh, what a dream), you would ALL (even the liars that deny it) but bursting with pride in his glorious accomplishments. Simply put, he is The Greatest. -

Get some help. -
I hope they work on pump fakes. I can't recall Allen using any "planned" pump fakes (only when he was about to take off and run), and I think it would be an effective tool to stutter up a CB and get the WR some steps downfield for a deep throw. Ben Rothelisberger uses them quite a bit, as do Brady and Brees. I realize it takes a bit more pocket time, and line play is a factor, but it's something I would like to see incorporated.

Was Mark Kelso the Best FS in Bills History?
Prickly Pete replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I considered Kelso a weak leak in the defense. -
It's a balancing act. Sometimes you draft out of desperate need (QB in particular), and other times you have broader options. I think it's obvious to them that they need to add to the Offense, but if they can't trade down, and the talent is all D-line, they pretty much have to go Dlineman. It's all a roll of the dice. And missing on your first pick isn't the end of the world (the Patriots have overcome some poor picks). It's so early. Until the combine happens, it's hard to gauge some players. All the top guys have plays where they look fantastic...but not all of them can translate it to the pros, and WORK ETHIC is a huge factor in having success in the pros. We don't know that much about the prospects behind the scenes. You have to find out who really wants it, who has the motivation to succeed.

Daniel jeremiah top 50 prospects #1
Prickly Pete replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was gonna post something along these lines, but figured it'd be a waste until after the combine. I would go down to about 20, just to be sure. Then eliminate the QB's, RB's and defensive players that aren't lineman...and see what's left. -
Ha, nice try. No, we need the human element. It's a never ending problem, enforcing the rules. You take it deeper each step, and new problems crop up.

It's a game. It's fine as it is. Not because there couldn't be better refereeing, but because the controversy is part of the appeal. A video referee system that called a "perfect" game, would suck the life out of the game.

Smart HCs and elite QBs always have huge advantage..... throughout the entire game. That's why they win.

Tom Brady (most hated man in Buffalo) actually accepts less money to help keep his team competitive. He wants to win. He loves to win. He HAS to win. I love that about him. Drw Brees takes the big bucks....I have to wonder if he would have another SB Ring or 2 if he took less so his team had more money to throw around.

Damned whining from the Patriot Haters...pathetic. IT'S TOO LATE TO CHANGE! And next time around, the Patriots would probably benefit from whatever rule change was implemented. They are the ultimate franchise. The know how to correctly strategize for every situation, and RARELY make a mistake. Rule changes aren't going to help....they know how to maximize them. Just stop. The OT is great. It gives both teams enough of a chance. it all reminds me of when people who hated the 90's Bills decided that Rich Stadium was too much of advantage, and that the Championship game should be played at a neutral site. Pathetic. It wasn't "decided by a coin toss". What a simplistic, disingenuous comment. Not even worth arguing with such a silly statement.

The OT rule is pretty much perfect. When they changed it from whoever scores first to the present rule, that was a great move. It's as good as it can get, don't ***** with it just because the Pats won again.

NRC on the “non-call” (Update: FINED!)

Truly one of the worst Bills games ever, in my mind. -
It wouldnt bother me if they physically attacked one another (no serious injuries, of course).

About Tom Brady and the Patriots
Prickly Pete replied to Ice bowl 67's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I remember some very hard-hitting, tell it like it is biographies of sports figures in the grade school library. In fact, there are probably a few of these kinds of books about Brady in school libraries now. -
