Offensive weapons or finish the Defence?
Prickly Pete replied to Franchiseneedsme's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What team has both an offense and a defense that is "elite"? I want to see the offense become "elite" first and foremost. I've had enough time watching crappy Bills offenses to last a lifetime. -
I am feeling the cognitive dissonance in my business partner. We have argued for years now, and he is lashing out a bit because he can't cope with accepting that all the nonsense he has been spouting is wrong, and virtually all my predictions are coming true. He won't admit the source of his irritability of course.

I don't expect him to be assassinated, at least not right away. -
Your All-Time Fav/Memorable Bills Plays

Interesting. Now I think I remember hearing about this actually, years ago. I know he wasn't well liked. Between that play, and the bogus facemask penalty on Bruce Smith against the Bengals the season before.... it's painful to think how far those teams could have gone. -

???? That is a pretty serious accusation, what is the basis of it? It's not that I can't fathom it being true, but need some kind of evidence. -

I get zero satisfaction from that play. -

Yeah, that's something to revel in. "It was a great learning moment for the kids". I always loved the Ronnie Harmon drop in the Browns playoff game, myself. -
Daniel Jeremiah - Jonah Williams is someone to watch

I don't believe that they would sign all these Free Agent O-linemen and then still use the 9th pick on a Guard. The question isn't really "How good is this guy?" it's "How much better is he than the guy we have, and how much more of a difference can he make?" I don't think he can make more of a difference than a top prospect D-lineman could for this team. The Bills need help there, and it's the obvious strength of the draft, it seems the most likely, by far. -

Are you embarrassed to wear Bills gear?
Prickly Pete replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's okay, man. I'm just messing around. But it would be like me ignoring the question, popping into this thread and just dismissing any discussion with "They need to change the logo". Yeah, it's related, but not really the topic the OP started the thread to discuss. Like you said, "context". -

You gotta start with the trenches. -

I hear injured guys sometimes never return to form. -
So any time a person wants to talk about any player that isn't a linemen, someone will HAVE to pop in with "You win in the trenches". No comment on the player suggested, just a dismissal. Can't discuss say, a Wide Receiver, without having the obligatory "Trenches!" thrown into the middle of the thread, because fans must be beaten down if they think the team MIGHT be thinking about a skill position player. We NEED constant reinforcement that "You win in the trenches! Don't even discuss other positions!".
