  1. So there are people here that don't think it was intentional? It's always fun to be a contrarian, I guess. Anybody lose money on the game? Fantasy team lose?
  2. I don't "want" that, and never said....meh, forget it. Go ahead and wring your hands for 5 weeks.
  3. I can't believe the wimpy attitude of some fans regarding the Pats. It's not like the Bills haven't ever been competitive against them. They have lost some very close games, and even outplayed them on occasion. It's the big litmus test for the team, and all this "I don't want them to be mad when they play us", and "let's hope they sit guys"....I don't think either of those things are going to be any kind of factor in whether or not the Bills can beat them that last game.
  4. It's this season's catch phrase. Injuries make a huge difference, and to act like a team can have great depth at any and every position is just silly.
  5. Gangster Party Line... Google it, and you will learn the current state of "the N-word".
  6. Why does it matter how you slice it? The Bills team that year won 2 more playoff games on the road, and went to the Super Bowl.
  7. Do you have a pic, cuz I don't think he looks remotely like Jim Carrey. The Chargers were meandering fro a few years under Norv Turner, and Rivers wasn't right physically. Their O-line really sucked too.
  8. What about Marcus Allen? I really think it was just a natural evolution of the position that Thurman was a part of.
  9. Titans have 3 road games...and Fits
  10. I think the Pats will lose 2 more games.
  11. Maybe, but it might help both the run and pass game's effectiveness if they didn't run the ball EVERY time on first down. They need to mix it up just a little.
  12. I remember him making his living going over the middle, and making huge plays on short crossing patterns all season long, in the most dangerous areas of the field. I'm watching Reed touchdowns and it's so great it sickens me to think of how anemic the offense has been since. It just looks so easy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z__w7_Eo030
  13. See FOX News, ya mean? Or any of the last few Republican presidents either, ya mean? Why do people drag politics into a discussion like this, unnecessarily?
  14. I am on the border with Andre Reed getting in, but to question his heart is ridiculous. He was one of the bravest big time receivers going over the middle that I have ever seen, and that is the biggest reason why he should be considered for the HoF. His stats are a fraction less than some other guys, but the catches he made were often right across the middle, in the most dangerous area on the field.
  15. Thank you. It took me a while to organize my thoughts about this play, but I think I laid it out pretty well.
  16. I was merely noting that I'm not completely biased against Brady and the Pats. I don't think this is the right thread for this ^^^ discussion. It's really about that specific play.
  17. I have voiced lots of support for Brady. I think he is a good guy, and the greatest QB ever. I just don't think that was worthy of handing a team the ball on the 1 yard line. The last play of the game, in that situation, it's on the offense to MAKE A PLAY. (it might not be in the rule book, but everyone in the NFL knows it's true, and ACCEPTS it. Even Bill Belichick, and Tom "it wasn't a great throw" Brady) People are claiming it wasn't a Hail Mary, but it was definitely a desperation throw from 25 yards away, into tight double coverage (sure appears that it was a play designed to be thrown to Gronkowski regardless of any coverage, just like a Hail Mary), Gronkowski was pushing, and surely he and Brady were well aware of the opportunity to get a PI called in that situation. Throwing it short, up for grabs, into a crowd (and cleanly intercepted, no less), and not even getting close enough to TOUCH the ball, is NOT making a play. It didn't work for them this time, but it's a judgement call that is left up to the officials, and I think the team that won, outplayed the team that lost. As far as it being the Patriots, I firmly believe that were it the Bills/Browns/perennial loser, it wouldn't be any big controversy, and that the general public tends to give the Patriots the benefit of the doubt. As though people just assume that they are the better team, and deserve "better" officiating... something is wrong if they don't get the comeback win on the final play. It didn't follow the script we are familiar with, so with a close call against the Pats, something must be amiss. Rubbish. They didn't make enough of a play. If the uniforms were changed to EJ Manuel and the Bills, and say, the Green Bay Packers defense, the reaction from the broadcast team would have been "The Packers may have gotten away with one there", a few replays, then on to the game summary. 12 hours later NO ONE would be talking about it except Bills fans, and a few Packers fans on message boards. The Bills suck, the Packers were favorites, and let's move the F on. But BECAUSE it's the Pats, it's 2 days of sports radio talking about how something needs to be done about the officiating, and "maybe they should adjust the replay rules?". It's generating 'hits', and EVERYONE has to have an opinion. I also think front-runner bettors that lost money are pissed off.
  18. Yeah. I think Simms is the best color analyst, even though he can annoy me, and I couldn't stand him as a player. Even if you don't like what Simms says, he is never as loud as Dierdorf. I think there are very different types of people on this board. No one I hang out with has ever voiced any kind of support for Dierdorf.
  19. They DIDN'T get hosed, they got outplayed, and beaten fair and square.
  20. He was drifting away from the ball, and would have had to push Kuechly out of the way to get position on the ball, and he is out of the play by the time Kuechly puts his arms around him.
  21. For me, it has absolutely nothing to do with the Bills, or what he might say about the Bills. I know many here complained about things he would say, but it has nothing to do with my attitude towards him. It could be any game, any teams, his style was what I disliked. He sounded like he went to broadcasting school, where they told him to vary his pitch to as he bellowed, he added it to his blowhard "let me explain it to you, people" persona, and it became unbearable. I don't really have any other announcers that I dislike so much. Tasker can be annoying, and some guys are a bit flat, but most are fine with me, and it's not even an issue.
  22. Carolina was still getting it together at that point. They would be a much tougher opponent now.
  23. He dumbed down the game for the the casual fan, using a self-assured blowhard's voice. It was the way he used his voice that annoyed me as much as the inane comments.
