  1. I noticed that other receiver, Bizell had a similar TD, where he broke 65 tackles on the way to the end-zone. It was one game...
  2. Hahahaha....James Lofton of the Hall of Fame? James Lofton was a tall, lanky receiver. Yeah, it would be awesome of Goodwin was a nice deep threat, but he will NEVER be a James Lofton-type receiver. It's funny, because we only got the tail end of his career, but he was one of the greats (and is an excellent radio, color commentator).
  3. The problem with Sullivan isn't that his opinion's are wrong (necessarily), it's that they are almost always negative, and never insightful. The Bills sucked during most of Larry Felser's career, but his column wasn't a continuous complaint, or a guy trying to act like he is the voice of the fans. Sullivan poses as the common Buffalo fan, but he shoots low, and it's actually an insult to the knowledgeable fans of Buffalo.
  4. This will be a good thread to revisit in the future, KOK.
  5. Jerry, is that you? Sullivan picks up on the main whining around town, and rides it for all it's worth. It's not good writing, and not necessary to approach the job like that. Next column will be about Da'Rick, and how he is on his way to the Hall of Fame.
  6. I watched his touchdown. Down by 21 in the 3rd quarter, dancing into the end zone. I couldn't find his 2nd TD in garbage time, but I wonder if he danced then too?
  7. How about waiting a few more games before pronouncing this guy a success?
  8. It's not just penalties, it's when they are called, and more importantly penalties that AREN'T called. How about where the ball is spotted, too? So many subtle ways to favor a team, even if unintentional.
  9. 20 pages of Da' Rick? It's called "grasping for straws". Aren't there more disturbing things to whine about? Is he already in the Hall of Fame?
  10. Got me there dude. How would they know how he acted in Buffalo? Explain it to me...
  11. Fretting over these guys (how many have really had big success? Maybe Marshawn Lynch, but he had/has problems. Would keeping him over Hogan been better? Maybe, but we also don't know what has happened behind the scenes. Regardless, it's not worth fretting over at this point, they have way bigger problems.
  12. Yep. It's kinda like EVERY game is a home game for the Patriots, such is their reputation, and station in the class system of the NFL. And with all the new rules, and the new guidelines, there is just more opportunity for "the home team" (America's Team, really. The Winners!) to get the benefit of the call.
  13. I can't stand this whining about players the Bills have released. Maybe being released was the kick in the pants that he needed? Maybe he thought he could coast? he acted like a jack ass whenever he made a play in pre-season, that's what I remember most about Da'Rick. At any rate, NONE of the players that the Bills have recently released would have turned this team around.
  14. That game was a sham,a scam, a wham-bam-thank you, maam. A "wop-bop-a-lula, what the heck is going on, I might never watch the NFL again, this is crap" moment for me. Nothing new I hear will even surprise me. It's not a conspiracy, it's just craptastic "game management", not from either coach, QB, or team, but from the officials, who are probably too nervous about making the "wrong" call, being under the camera and replay's shadow, to realize how inconsistently they are interpreting the incredibly silly rules they are asked to enforce. Roger Goodell is an over officious jerk. Like I said, a sham.
  15. Too many rookies/2nd year players on this offense. Combine that with a whole new system from a rookie OC, and a rookie head coach. A rookie QB that missed lots of training camp, and a bunch of games in the middle of the season (and a few games with inexperienced backups). Plus they are playing on the road, a week after having any playoff hopes evaporate. I'm not the least bit surprised that they looked like poo. I know they sucked, but it takes a while to get an offense working like a machine. I'm not ready to write them all off.
  16. Having a Super Bowl in what will likely be cold conditions, is the only positive I can think of from Roger Goodell. At least it's kinda "keeping it real", as opposed to the slick direction the NFL has been pushing towards, harder and harder each season.
  17. Neither CJ or Gilmore are going to be cut, it's just some message board drivel.
  18. It was the SAME game, the same DB! Plus, when your team is up, controlling a game, and your season is already ruined, guys aren't so worried about personal fouls. It's open season for busting people up. It's not like the coach is gonna be mad at him or something. It's more like pre-season, where you are trying to impress the coaches. I believe that if it was a playoff game, SJ would have made the effort. I'm aware of the implications of that, but I think there are many good players that would do the same. Not that I think ANY of this is going through any of the players minds in that moment. Pulling up in that situation is instinctual, and something that players fight to overcome, but if their mindset isn't right (like when you have nothing to play for...), it's harder to overcome. Fans may not like it, but the season is done and SJ has been through some bad seasons, and the QB's (especially EJM) have been hanging guys out to dry all season. I'm not a huge supporter of SJ, I think he is a good #2, and he has annoyed me with childish behavior at times. But I don';t blame him for the short arms there.
  19. I wonder if the call from the Carolina game had any influence on the call against the Browns? I think the correct call was made in Carolina, but maybe there was a memo sent out to officials after that? Like "here is a video of some calls that we are trying to correct"...unspoken pressure from the home office. This is the kind of thing that I could see happening. Just sending a little reminder to officials about how to call a game. If questioned, no doubt the answer is "Every week we gather video to critique the officials, and to emphasize rule enforcement for ALL teams...blahblahblah" But maybe they feature "mistakes" against the Pats more prominently etc. There are lots of ways to influence the officials.
  20. Gee, explain that to Robert Woods. He looked like he need a stretcher (ironically, hit by the same guy that had SJ lined up).
  21. Um, it's already in his pocket. No player is obligated to take unnecessary risk. The Bills are out of the playoff race, and that catch wasn't gonna change anything. He doesn't have a history of short arming passes. I know some people want to see the players suffer for their paycheck, but I don't see the need for them to step in front of trains. S Johnson would immediately be picked up, and the Pats would take him in a heartbeat. How about a coach being "set free"? How about the Special Teams coach being shown the door?
  22. It's loser talk. It's actually the opposite of what it's intended to be. It's an excuse, an evasion of "I'm not as good as the other guy, and as a whole, there aren't enough good players here to cover my mistakes". I don't need to hear guys say "it was my fault", that does nothing for me. I also think there are playoff teams with slackers, guys that coast, guys that blame others for their own mistakes, bad attitudes, etc. Some guys are totally selfish, never admit wrongdoings, take plays off, and slack through practice, but come up clutch in pressure situations. The Bills seem to be lacking clutch players. Guys that thrive under pressure.
  23. His quote about it not mattering is being blown way out of proportion. He seemed to mean that they had chances to overcome mistakes like that but never did. He is a good, not great receiver, and lots of teams would like to have him. He just isn't a number 1 receiver. I don't blame him for short-arming that pass. It would be foolish to risk your body at this point. EJM is gonna get a receiver paralyzed if he doesn't improve his ball placement. Easy to say, but then you aren't the one absorbing the hit.
  24. I disagree. I don't believe that for the last 14 years the Bills roster was so much less talented. At QB, yes, but I don't think our 300lb. linemen, were so much less talented (measureable-wise) than the playoff team's 300lb. linemen. I think it's been attitude, and belief in your coaches/ teammates. You gotta believe that you can win, or the effort will be lacking. The Bill's players have been playing strictly for paychecks.
  25. Wasn't there an "Intentional grounding" call against the Browns that was wrong, but they overcame it? And then wasn't there a non-call against Brady when he clearly IG'ed the ball? (I can't even remember if it was this game, because the bad calls were coming so fast and furious yesterday). Then there was the personal foul on the TD, that set up the onside kick. NFL=Sham
